Silence didn't understand what parents were, because he never had them. But he did somehow understand the concept of a family and so far, like a chick hatched out of an egg, he considered the two as his family. He didn't understand that things weren't that easy. He just knew that they were ponies like him and that's all that mattered. He looked up at the stallion, eyes shimmering as he nibbled and tugged at his forelock playfully. He then trotted around Buterscotch's legs. Suddenly her fell to the ground, eye's shut tight. Something was hurting him from the inside. Tears begain to roll down his cheeks as he pleadingly looked up at the mare and the stallion. Anther shot of piercing pain flowed up and down his side. His eyes again shut tightly and his muscles tensed.

Jol snorted as he pulled his head upright. He wasn't perpared for the foal nibbling on his forelock. He didn't exactly mind but at the same time, it made him almost nervous. Dark orange eyes sparkled in the afternoon light as he watched the colt prance around Butterscotch's legs. As he fell Jol's eyes went from the foal to Butterscotch.
"What's wrong with him?" Jol questioned daring to take a step closer towards them both.
It was obvious that the little pegasus was in a great deal of pain. If he could have stopped it, the pale orange stallion would have. But he held no healing powers within him. Eyes continued to dart from the foal to the mare, and back again.

"I... I don't know!" Butterscotch squeaked. "Maybe he's sick?" She knelt down beside the foal, frightened eyes searching blankly for an answer. "I don't see any blood, so I don't think it's a cut or anything..." Her gaze met Jol's worriedly. "What should we do?"

Sick? Jol mused for the the thought for a moment, but had to disagree. The colt was in too much pain for it to simply be an illness.
"I don't think he's sick." Jol replied after a few minutes of silence.
He knew the little pegasus needed help, but was uncertain as to what to do. He had no idea how far Ponyville was from where they were. Let alone where to find a doctor. He could only hope that Butterscotch knew.
"He needs a doctor." Jol stated his voice firm as he again eyed the little boy.

"R-right..." Butterscotch gulped, glad at least one of them could keep calm in a situation like this. "We... we should be able to find help back in Ponyville. Will he be... will he be okay long enough? It'll take some time to get there."
My heart raced frantically. Would the poor, little orphan survive? Jol was by far the fastest of the two of us--long, powerful legs, and the natural agility of unicorns. Maybe he could save our poor, nameless hero from-- Oh, what am I doing? Now is hardly the time!

Jol was uncertain if the foal would survive the trip into town. There was just no way of knowing the outcome, but he knew they had to try. Nothing should suffer like this. Nothing.
"I can carry him." Jol offered, "If you'll lead the way."
He still had no idea how far the town was from where they were. Let alone how to reach the doctor.

Hearing no reply from Butterscotch, orange twinkle eyes narrowed to slits as Jol spoke, "Are you leading the way or do I have to find a doctor in this pink infested village by myself?"

Butterscotch was already pretty shaken by Silence's injury, and Jol's sudden sharpness certainly didn't soothe her any. "P-Ponyville is not pink infested! I grew up there." She snorted indignantly and turned, heading back to said pink-filled town with nose pointed in the air. "If you really want to help, you can at least be polite about it. I'm going to town to find a healer for the colt I'm protecting. You can come, but only if you aren't going to snap at me. It won't help the poor little fellow an inch."

Ears were pressed tightly against his skull. Snap? That's snapping? He snorted softly to himself. You've seen nothing yet sweetheart. Jol thought to himself. He wasn't used to being polite, and he certainly wasn't used to being sweet. Instead of saying something he knew would only upset the mare, he kept his mouth shut.
Turning he followed closely behind Butterscotch. Orange eyes glinted as he watched her walk along.

Silence squrimed around on the ground, making whining noises. He senced tention in the air and fighting upset him very much. He had the blood of a god, like his mother, causing him to be a usually peaceful creature, and twitch with uncomfort at any sign of hatred. He looked up as he saw Butterscotch leave.

Letting his muzzle brush against the foal's, Jol gently picked him up. With more care than one would have thought the unicorn possed he placed the infant on his back. Slowly he moved one ear turned listening to the pegasus and the other turned listening to the mare.

"Good, you've decided to play nice." Butterscotch flashed a smile, then shifted her attention to Silence. "Don't you worry, sweetie... I promise we'll make it all better. Just you wait, and we'll bring you to the best healer we can find, and once you're better, I'll take you home and get you fed and warmed up. You like rainbowberry pie, I hope. I just picked some yesterday, and pie is my specialty, since everything else ends up sizzled to a crisp or worse. Why, when I was a filly..." The golden mare sped up a little, settling comfortably into a story.
((OOC: Continued at Ponyville, I suppose. Whargibly...FWOOSH!))

Jol paid no attention to Butterscotch's remark. He would appear to be playing nice, but more likely than not he still didn't mean it. Picking up his pace a little he followed behind the golden mare, making sure to keep a watch on the foal upon his back. One ear listened as they moved along. Every now and than he's half turn his head around to look at the little colt, and flash him a small smile, or his idea of one anyway. [OOC: Lead the way. Gone to where Butterscotch is.]

Silence was glad that everyone had calmed down. He enjoyed the ride as he listened attentively to Butterscotch's stories, except for when Jol would turn and smile at him. Then he would giggle with delight. He even flapped his little wings once or twice.
((Con't to ponyville))
