Without glancing around the room, Tristan took a few steps back and picked up the phone.
"Hello?" Yet another bout of monotone goodness.

On the phone came a somewhat shaky voice. "H-hello?? Um..this is Stellaluna speaking. Did anyone by this number call me not too long ago? " Donner's ears pricked up and he stared at the pbone. He couldn't hear the conversation, but he somehow knew it was her. Donner and Stellaluna had a bit of ESP goin.

He thought about it. "Hold on..."
Tristan held the receiver out to Donner. "It's your girlfriend."

She's not my girlfriend. Donner thought to himself. He picked up the phone and said, "Hey stell, what's up? Are you okay? I heard Tails and Whiskers burt down." Stellaluna was a bit taken back by this. "Donner? How'd you know it was me?" she asked. "I took a wild guess." he said. "Oh, well, um...I just got home and uh...what was the question?" Donner smiled in his head. He was a bit amused by his friend's short attention span. "Did you make it out of the pet shop okay?" "Oh..." her voice went real soft and unhappy. "Yeah, I'll tell you about it later." Her tone shifted "where are you anyway??" "I'm stayin' with my friend Tristan, yah know with my house being burnt down and everything...." [long pause] "YOUR HOUSE BURT DOWN? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME? !" "I'm pretty sure I did." he said calmly. "oh." she said feeling rather embarassed. "I am sooo sorry!!! If I had known I would have let you stay here, but I guess since you got a place now...." her voice faded off. "Yeah, It's cool. Don't worry about it." he said smiling. He then turned to look at all the ponies in the room, staring at him. He was interrupting them. He turned towards the wall and said. "Well I better be goin." "Okay" she said quietly, not wanting him to go in her mind. "Cya" he said. "Cya" she repeated. Donner hung up the phone and turned towards the group.

Snow resisted the urge to huff in annoyance at the stallion's seemingly uncaring attitude. As Tristan turned away to answer the phone, he stepped a little closer to the stallion. "And he had been acting normal right up until that point?" Snow asked him once he had handed the phone to Donner.

Tristan's gaze slowly shifted from Donner to Winter Snow. "Yes."
It was beginning to come together in his mind. His face, on the other hand, conveyed only aloofness.

Snow nodded. "He didn't do it on purpose," he said. It was a statement of a fact, not a question or even a theory. That being said, he hoped Tristan would believe him...and get over the obvious pain he was in at Dash's betrayal.
Snow flicked his tail. "Do you want to help me try and find out what happened to him?" He wanted to go back to the scene of the fire, perhaps talk to the ponies who had been there when he arrived. They might have seen something.

Tristan's ears flicked back and forth. "I know..." He admitted quietly. It would have been easier had Dash done this on his own free will.... but to know that that... bastard... had taken control of the stallion's mind... A shudder ran down his spine.
Glancing between the group, he sighed. "Dale... can you take Donner out to eat?"
Looking up from her spot on the floor, Dallas nodded. "Sure." Light eyes shifted towards the teen. She gave him a soft smile.
"I'm sorry, Donner... But I have to do this..." His attention was back on the teen.

"No problem." He stepped towwards dallas, waiting for her to lead the way.

Pushing herself up, she nodded at Donner. "I'll see you guys later. Hopefully you'll find him." As she was passing Snow, she placed a hoof on his shoulder. "Be careful. Both of you." Giving her brother a meaningful glance, she quietly slipped out of the house.
Once she was outside, she turned to face Donner.

As Dallas passed and placed her hoof on his shoulder, he gave her a very small smile and nodded. "We will be. You two, take care as well. Watch your backs...something dangerous is afoot in the city."
Once Dallas and Donner had gone, Snow turned back to Tristan and filled him in on what happened in the grove. "I want to see if I can find those ponies again," he said. "They may have seen Dash. If the stallion who took him is the same one who started the fire, he has a lot to answer to."

As Dallas left, he could only give her a reassuring smile and nod of the head. Once the door was shut behind the duo, he mentally sighed. If only he felt so sure of himself.
For a brief moment, Tristan's ears flopped down lifelessly. He was beginning to get a bad feeling about all of this. Though no matter how dangerous things would get.... He refused to come back without Dash.
Taking a few steps towards Snow, his ears perked back up. "This is so f**ked up." It was almost as though he was thinking aloud.

Snow's ears dipped briefly. "I know it is," he said softly, "Healer-mode" taking over in the face of Tristan's obvious emotion. "I'm worried about him too." He looked away. "It's times like this that I wish he and I were closer..."
Looking back at Tristan, he shook his head. "But we'll find him," he said, voice confident though he still spoke softly. "Who better to rescue him than the two ponies who love him the most?"

Tristan chewed on his lip ring. Dark eyes never leaving Snow. He could understand the feeling of not being close to your sibling. After all, Dallas and him barely talked before her move to Ponyville.
"We will." He nodded. "And when we do.... I'm going to kill the prick that took him from us." His threat came through calmly, yet it was obvious he wasn't joking.

Snow frowned slightly. He did not voice the thoughts that ran through his mind, that this enemy probably was not one that could be killed by mortal means, and if Tristan got himself hurt or killed trying to be macho, it would do Dash more harm than good. For one thing, he did not know for sure the pony was immortal. Just because he had started a magical fire did not mean he himself possessed any magic. For another, he thought it was quite useless to argue with Tristan on that point. He would just have to somehow insure that the stallion did not rush headlong into a battle with this mysterious red pony.
"He'll get what he deserves," Snow replied cryptically, then turned toward the door. "Shall we?"
