Tink looked up from where she was holding a wreath and a hammer, "Shade, get back here and help me hang this up!" "But I wanna help Uncle Mace with the tree!" "Just get over here, and for the last time, he is not your uncle." Tink rolled her eyes faintly as the foal trotted back to where she was working, "Just hold this for me, ok?" "Ok." Shade watched his aunt position the wreath and handed her a nail to work with, she soon had it hanging above the doorway. Shade glanced behind him as a spirit disappeared into the wall, they seemed to be everywhere in this apartmenmt complex, and Mace and Aunt Tink didn't seem to see them. Heck, spirits were usually in apartments, so many rooms, so many previous owners, such terrible histories sometimes, Shade wondered if Aunt Tink knew about the one that resided in her kitchen. he still remembered first meeting it: 'Yup shonny, shtabbed meself with the uld kitchen kniofe io did.' Aunt Tink had probably supposed that he had walked out wide-eyed because of the rotting lettuce in the fridge. Speaking of which, he reminded her to throw it out. She had, she just needed to add a deodorizer. "Honestly, you'd think that I would learn not to leave things in the refirgerator that long." she entered the kitchen to cook lunch.

Shade stared almost nervoulsy at the grilled cheese sandwich on his plate, "Is it safe?" he asked Mace across the counter from him. Tink glared at him, "Of course it's safe! It looks perfectly fine, now eat it!" "Sure it looks fine, but who can tell whats on the inside?" "Shade! Eat it!" "Fine, fine." Shade sighed and bit into it, huh, not bad actually.

Tink sat down to eat her own sandwich and ate it hungrily. Mace was like wise preoccupied with chewing a large chunk of his grilled cheese. shade saw this as the perfect time to ask a question, "Why aren't you guys married?" Mace started choking on his grilled cheese. Tink turned to Shade with an unsure expression on her face, "I'm not sure that was the best question to ask. Erm, Mace, you okay?" Through his coughing Mace managed to nod once or twice. Finally swallowing the bit of sandwich, he turned to Shade, "What kind of a question was that?" "I dunno, made sense when I asked it." Unfortunatly for Shade, his question never did get answered.

As if to silence the comotion there was a knock on the door. Snowflake was waiting outside in the frigidness, but being a snowpony, she didn't mind it that much. She looked inside her shopping bag to make sure the wrapped parcels inside were alright. Luckily she had found a present for Shade at the last minute, though she doubted he'd like the gift. Her tail swished and she put down her blue hood, revealing her flowing mane. She smiled with anticipation to see her friends as she waited there at the door.

Tink rushed to the door while Mace began eating his sandwiche again and Shade followed her part of the way only to flop down on the couch. Tink opened the door and grinned, "Hey Snowflake! Comeon in, its freezing out, sorry if everythings a mess, just got the tree up today and all..."

"Thanks," she shivered, walking in. "It sure is cold!" she said giggling. "Happy Holidays everyone!" she said looking around the room. She could see Shade in the livingroom and managed to see Mace at the table in the other room. She settled herself in a chair and began digging through her bag. "I've got a surprize for you all!" She said, pulling out three brightly wrapped parcels.

"You shouldn't go through any trouble for us you know." Tink smiled gratefully and tried to remember if she'd wrapped Snowflake's gift yet... come to think of it, had she wrapped anyone's gift yet? "Sure she should." Shade peered eagerly at the packages, wondering which was his.

“Yeah, sure I should!" giggled Snowflake siding with the foal. She pulled out a red wrapped parcel. "Shade, this is for you..." She pulled out a green one and walked over to Mace. "Mace, this is for you..." She turned and smiled at Tink, now walking towards her. "And Tink, this one's for you." She handed Tink the gift, wrapped in white paper. She was glad she wrapped the presents in different colors. If she didn’t, she might mix them up and Shade might have received the black scarf instead of Mace. Tink might have received the small snow-globe instead of Shade. Or Mace might have received the mousepad with the snowflakes and snowman on it instead of Tink. With a final nod, she returned to the couch. “Happy Holidays everyone!” She grinned.

Having been almost as eager as Shade Tink surveyed the mousepad with a grin, "Finally, something to replace the palm trees!" Shade had nothing to say as he curiously shook the snowglobe, he wondered how they made these things. Actually, the snowglobe looked pretty much like it did outside right now, cool, maybe it controlled the weather... Mace watched the other two open their gifts and began opening his carefully, hm, a scarf, something to keep him warm when the cold winds blew, nice scarf too. He smiled happily and finally finished his sandwich with one bite. "We need to get your don't we? Mace, could you go get it from the closet?" Tink had placed the mousepad under the mouse and was messing with something on the internet. "Sure." Into the bedroom, hunt around, there was Snowflake's gift! Sparx's wasn't here yet, Tink said something about a dachsund whatever that was. He headed back with Snowflake's fift and smiled nervously, hoping she would like"make your own snowman" kit. It came complete with a pipe, mouth, nose, buttons, and even a hat. Tink had insisted it was perfect, but Mace still wasn't so sure.

"Oh, I love it!" Snowflake said opening her gift. "Thank you. Messing with snow is my favorite passtime." She winked waving her hoof in the air a few times, and like magic, three dot-sized snowflakes swirlled around her hoof, and then floated to the ground. She wasn't afraid to present her powers to her friends anymore like she had when she first arrived, although she was still nervous using them around strangers. "So what have you all been up to lately?" She said, pulling out the pipe and hat from the packaging and fiddling with this and that.

“Oh.” Snowflake responded quietly. She didn’t have a clue what a software was, let alone an online company.
(ooc: kewl, wish i had one. And here is yet another super-short post. What should the ponies do now?)
