Notepad and Petunia were looking in the windows of the curiosity shop, which had been blown out the night before.
"Wow," Petunia was saying, "that's a lot of glass."
"Well, you know, these are pretty big windows." Notepad was scribbling notes into his Handy-Dandy notepad. He refused to use any other brand because this was the top of the line. "Let's take a look... oh, here we go. Who's this?" He turned to Razz.
Razz was walking across the street from the nursery when he saw Notepad and Petunia.
"Hello, are you the shop owner?" Notepad asked.
"Yes," said Razz.
"Great! I'm Notepad from GFI. This is Petunia. She's assisting me today. We're here for..." he patted his notepad. "Paperwork."
"Yeah, OK." Razz said, still a bit dull. "Shall I let you in?"
"Yes, please do," Notepad said.
Razz walked up to the door, which was hanging on its hinge. He touched it gingerly and it fell off.
"There you go," he said, trying not to act dismal. It was a nice try.
(And so they went inside to look at the damage...yada...yada...I could go on, but perhaps you've suffered enough?)

Notepad stepped out of the shop for a moment. He unclipped his cellphone and dialed... and waited for a response.
Then...
"Hey, Prophecy, it's me," Notepad said. "Still meeting me at the cafe for lunch today?"
Another pause.
"Hey, that sounds great, sweetie," Notepad continued to say. "I'm over hear looking at this one place. Pony, it looks pretty bad. Hear about it? Big fire. I think his name is Razz or something. Oh! And I'll be bringing an associate of mine. Her name is Petunia. I'm showing her the ropes today. See you about noon, then?"
"Bye!" he said.

Glitzy had got herself lost after an attempt to find her own way to Dash's jewelry store. Being the ditz that she was, though, Glitter Glide hadn't even thought of stopping to ask for directions... after all, she figured she would eventually get there.
She passed what looked like the remains of a shop. This stopped her in her tracks before she trotted to the door and began peering with curiosity into the burnt building. "Oh dear..." She mumbled as she watched the other ponies from the outside, "This doesn't look too good at all..."
She overheard (more like eavesdropped) Notepad talking on his cell phone and her ears fell back with unease. Big fire? Oh, well obviously... I hope no one was hurt. She shifted her weight and lent slightly against the ruins. Glitzy cringed and slowly took a couple of steps away after she'd accidently knocked a bit of burnt wreakage off the side of the building.

Star Dasher came walking towards the building. She stopped at distance. Seems to be nothing here. She tought. Something has happened here. She remained standing there, whatching the three ponies by the Shop. What should I do? Could there be anything inside that is worth stealing? But Star Dasher stod where she stod. Why would she come near the building, with three ponies outside? She would´nt. Why dare come near if not necessary?

Notepad clicked his cell phone closed. He looked over at Glitzy.
"Oh, now," he called. "Careful. It's not secure." He walked over to her, holding out his hoof. "Hi! Notepad of Great Farms Insurance."
Razz and Petunia came out of the shop then. Petunia was patting Razz on the shoulder.
"Now, don't you worry. We'll fix you right up," she was saying.

"Erm... yea." She smiled faintly and moved away from the building a bit more. Looking at the hoof that was being held out to her, Glitzy took a moment before seeming to realise what he meant it for. She shook his hoof with her own and answered, "Hey. I'm Glitter Glide... or you can call me Glitzy if you'd like." She smiled before looking over towards Razz and Petunia, "It's like, none of my bussiness but... is he the owner?" Glitzy asked as she guestured to the purple stallion with a slight frown.

At least that Notepad guy´s got a celphone Star thought, with a evil grin playing on her lips. But no. She shook her head. She now relised there was four of them. Why would she bother trying to steal it in front of them? It was not like he was going to drop it. She turned and left with soundless steps, amd disaapeard into the shadows.

"Yes, I'm afraid so," he said as he gave a solomn glance over at Razz. "We'll have him fixed up in no time, though. Great Farms. Like a good neighbor..." He handed her his business card.
Razz and Petunia were still talking.
"Well, I appreciate you coming out so fast, Petunia," Razz said. "So when do you think you'll have it all together?"
"Very soon," Notepad said, eyeing his notepad as he walked over. "We'll head back to the office to process your claim today. You can expect a check in the mail." He looked up. "It's probably going to take a few days. Is there anything you need now? Room at the inn? Groceries?"
"Um, I think we'll be OK staying with friends," Razz said.
"Good!" Notepad. "That's the spirit, Razz. You take care now. We'll be in touch. Come on, Petunia, we've other clients to see today."
Petunia gave Razz a hug and said goodbye. Razz waved as they walked away.

"Righty-o then..." She glanced at the business card for a few moments and as she looked back up, Notepad and the other mare were leaving. She blinked for a moment before noticing Razz again as he greeted her. "Um... hi there..." She didn't know what to say. This guy must be pretty devastated at the moment to have lost his home and Glitzy was worried that she would end up saying something to upset him. She thought for a moment before adding, "um... I'm sorry to see what's happened here..." She glanced back to the wreckage once before turning back to Razz. "I hope things are all fixed up for you soon." She smiled, hoping she had said what she thought she'd said, and not something totally stupid. "I'm Glitter Glide, by the way, or you can call me Glitzy." And with that her smile brightened slightly.

"Nice to meet you." Razz perked up a bit at her smile. "Yeah, after the damage to the shop the last time...well, I decided some insurance might be a good idea. Of course, I wasn't really planning on needing it, ya know? Nope, nope, nope."

"Last time?" She looked slightly shocked, "Well that's no good. At least you have insurance for this though." She guestured her head back to what used to be Razz's shop. "How on earth did that happen any-" Glitzy bit her tongue and her eyes darted as she thought frantically. She didn't want to upset him more, "I mean... er... I didn't catch your name properly..." She tried to cover it up with another smile.

"I'm Razzaroo," he said, smiling. "You can call me Razz. Everyone does."
He looked back at the shop. The knot in his stomach wouldn't let go.
"Act of nature," he said. "Lightning hit the roof and the whole place went up just like that." He clicked his hooves. "My friends were inside, but everyone made it out OK." He didn't bother adding the part about the bad pony or the fighting.
