Breezie suddenly gasped, and then frowned. "But wait - if we take all of these wonderful Horsies to the counter to buy them, what if they say there's been a mistake, and they're not for sale - or raised the price to something higher than either of us could ever afford? I mean, the sign says a dollar but - ", she held up a light-colored Horsie with mud and grime caked onto the body, and twigs poking out of its frizzy hair, " - who would ever want to sell something as precious as this?" "Oh, what'll we do?", she moaned. Then a though struck her, and she burst into a devilish grin. "Hey - what if we take the whole bin up and say we want to buy it all? Then the cashier would probably just glance at it and estimate a price, never knowing what treasures lay at the bottom! "Sure, it's probably cost a bit more, and we'd get a bunch of random stuff too, but we could always pool our money! Besides - ", she pouted and picked up a mangy stuffed dog, " - all these toys need homes too!" (( These two are funny together! I sense a Lucy-and-Ethel-ish scheme coming on...))

Marshmallow Cocoa looked at the Horsie, mud and sticks were entangled its frizzy hair and it almost appeared as if the toy were wearing a coat of grime.
"I agree: who could sell such a treasure? That thing's a diamond!"
Marshmallow Cocoa gave her brain a racking, trying to come up with a plan that they were lacking. She thought, and she thought some more, she thought until her mind was sore. She paced up and down the room and was filled with gloom.
"I've got nothing!" she said in despair.
Wait! What's that there?, she thought, An idea!
She stopped pacing and stood under a lamp, "I've got an idea!" she stated proudly as the lamp turned on. "What if--what if we do buy the entire bin? The cashier probably will be too lazy to do a price check on everything in the bin. Once we've got what we want, we'll sell everything else and split the profit 50/50. Or come back every-now-and-then and return all the other stuff gradually."
Cocoa smiled at Breezie, proud of her idea, "What do you think? Do you have any better ideas? If you do, please share them fast, because whoever wrote those last few paragraphs almost sounded like Dr. Suess."
((Oh, oh! I love I Love Lucy! Even though that sounds somewhat redundant.))

"Yeah - returning them later is great! So we'll pool our money and then take turns picking our favorite horsies until they're all gone! so first let's try to get this bin over to the counter. One, two..." (( That is SO cheap! Returning the items they bought - the nerve! I love it!))

"Three!" Cocoa struggled as she lifted her side of the bin.

Breezie lifted her end as well, and with Cocoa's help lifted it to the counter. Thne she lay there for a moment, forelegs on top of the bin and panting.

With Breezie's help, Cocoa and struggled to place the bin on the check-out counter. After placing down, Cocoa leaned on the counter, panting.
"What did they have in there? Bricks?" she complained. She then perked up, "Hey! I was right!" she said as she pointed to a couple of garden bricks near the bottom of the basket.

Breezie looked down at the bricks. "Uh, I know we agreed on buying everything, but the bricks have got to go." That said, she pulled out a couple of bricks and tossed them over her shoulder. ((If anyone wants to enter the thread, they can have their character get hit on the head with the bricks or something. Not necessary, it just seems really fun!))

Marshmallow Cocoa watched the bricks fly over her companion’s shoulder. She hoped that they would not dent the floor; she could never afford to pay for the floor to be fixed.
Seeing a bell on the counter, she assumed one should ring it for service. Cocoa pressed it violently and repeatedly and yelled, somewhat obnoxiously, “Hey! We need help over here! We’d like to buy this huge basket and all its contents!”
Satisfied that she had been heard, Cocoa began ringing the bell to the My Little Pony theme song as she waited for an employee.

Breezie hummed along to the familiar tune, closing her eyes and smiling. Ahh...a basket full of Horsies and her favorite song. Life is gooood...

An annoyed clerk appeared from somewhere in the store and stared at the basket. He gave a fairly high price, considering most of the stuff was not worth the price.
Cocoa placed the money on the counter; she thanked the employee sweetly and turned towards Breezie.
“On three?” she asked as she took her half of the basket.

"Sure. Oh, but first - ", peeking above the top of the bin, Breezie shoved across half of what Cocoa had payed. "Now we're even. Okay - one, two, three!"

Cocoa saw Breezie pay half of the amount; Cocoa had been willing to pay for it all. She was always willing to do something nice for another. Whatever makes her happy, she thought, I hope we can become friends; we already have something in common.
She lifted her half of the bin and led the way towards the exit.

Breezie followed Cocoa out the door with her half of the bin. She was afraid of embarassing herself, but there was something she needed to know. They already had so much in common... "Do you - uh, that is - do you ever still play with your Horsies?"

Cocoa was taken off guard by Breezie’s question. A little embarrassed, she replied, “Yeah, I think they’re fun.”
Feeling the need to justify her response, she added, “After all, they are toys.”
After she pushed open the door and set the basket on the ground outside the door, she asked, “What about you? Do you play with your Horsies?”

Breezie felt a wave of relief. "Yes. All the time", she said proudly, "I think it's pointless to collect toys if you're going to let them sit on a shelf and collect dust, and I even have a little system of politics worked out for my community." "And, uh...since we both love to play with our Horsies and we just got a bucketload more of them, why don't we go to the hills near here and play with them together? It's more fun playing with someone, and it's super more fun playing with someone outside!"
((Shall we continue it at Solsbury Hill at the Outer Edges?))
