Razz stumbled back to the nursery...

Razz stumbled in the door as he carried the newborn wrapped in the cafe's linens. He wasn't sure who was still around, but figured he'd find out soon enough. There were some noise coming from the bathroom.

Gabriel walked into the other room, his wings laying limply by his sides. He was still in a bit of pain from his fall, though he was still thoroughly amused.

Looking up, he saw Razz. Instantaneously, he knew what had happened. "Razz..." His voice was quiet enough so that only the purple stallion could hear.

Razz tripped over a random toy as he walked in and stumbled yet again. When would he ever get his feet under him?

"Rainbows!" he uttered. Then his ears perked up at the sound of Gabriel's voice. Looking over the top of his bundle, he spied him. "Oh, hi there. Looks like we have yet another guest."

He sat the little foal down right on the table.

By the time she reached the Nursery, Mittens had worked up a bit of a sweat. Pink cheeks were bright pink from the exercise. Puffing slightly she pulled the sled up to the front door. Pushing it open she took a breath.

A few more feet and a couple more tugs on the rope and Mittens found herself along with the sled inside.

"Hello!" Mittens exclaimed cheerfully, "Who wants to help decorate the tree?"

It didn't take long for her to realize that pulling a sled on carpet was much harder. Silently she scolded herself for not taking it around back before coming inside.

Glancing one way and than the other Mittens looked quite sheepishly as she asked, "Which way to the backyard?"

"Oh," Razz said to Mittens. "Would you like some help? The backyard is straight back that way, down the hall to the backdoor."

[Silver Shadow]

Dreamer came into the room and smiled to see the others. He moved closer quietly, more in the direction of Gabriel's, though the new little foal, of course, caught his attention and curiousity. Young ponies seem to spring out of nowhere in these parts. he though to himself.

Gumdrop came racing in from the bathroom, and almost bowled Razz over. But she saw the foal, and cried "Baby!"

Razz let out an undignified "OOMPH!" as the little ball of energy hit him like a bowler on nine pins.

"Yes," he said, rubbing his side. "It's a baby. Isn't she cute?"

The little foal was sitting very still and quiet, watching Gumdrop and Razz as they conversed.

"She's going to stay here a while until her momma comes."

Kail came out from the bathroom with a tired and still slightly dizzy Explosion on her back. When she saw the newest little foal her face became a mixture of surprise and exhaustion - another one?!?

She put Sherbet on the ground, as the little one woke up right away from the site of another new playmate, and sat on the ground, looking at Razz questioningly. "Rainbow help us," she said under her breath.

"She's adorable..." Gabriel's comment was meant for Razz, but ended up sounding as if he were thinking out loud.

Taking slow steps towards the new foal, he kneeled a little so that he was eye level with her. "Hello there." He gave a comforting smile.

In the back of his mind, he could sense Dreamer coming closer. His feathery wings began to fold against his sides, though they were still a bit sore. Not to mention covered in batter and dried soap. He'd need to go home and shower sometime soon.

Razz looked at Kail and smiled as he nodded his head in the direction of the new foal.

"The cafe was having a special," he said gleefully.

[Gumdrop]

Gumdrop looked confused, then suddenly, she asked Razz the question no adult wants to be asked.
"Where do babies come from?"

Dreamer came up next to Gabriel and looked closely at the little pony. He smiled at her, though he didn't say anything to her in particular

"So, who's her mother?" He asked quietly to no one in particular.

Kail stayed seated on the floor, looking up at Razz with a face that asked how he could be so cheerful and joking about it. But he didn't have to take care of all these kids that just popped up out of nowhere - he could just come over and play with them, make a mess, and leave.

Kail sighed and closed her eyes, counting the number of children that were now residing in the nursery. Sherbet, Charm, Gumdrop, Moon, this one, and occasionally Lilly. Five, five children and three had shown up today! It wouldn't be so bad if this really was simply a nursery and she watched them while their parents were gone, but most of their parents weren't coming back, and in Sherbet's case her parents just found it easier right now to dump the little filly off on someone else.

Kail finally stood up and walked over, her wings rubbing her temples. "What is this one's name?"

"Uh...." Razz looked down at Gumdrop. "Well, when a mommy pony and a daddy pony are ready to start a family, the Great Rainbow gives them a baby. Yeah." He began tapping his hoof nervously. "They give a ring on the telephone to put in their order and then one of the rainbow storks--you know one those big, pretty birds with the colorful head feathers you always see down by the Rainbow River-- well one of them goes on assignment up into the heavens and brings the baby back wrapped up in a cloud."

There was a bit more to it than that, of course, but he wasn't confident telling such things to a child. Rainbow storks would have to do. He leaned down. "Maybe Kail can tell you more about babies when you're a little older." Mares did that sort of thing so much better than stallions...

Turning to the next question, he continued. "I really don't know her mum. Somepony by the name Cupcake? Does anyone know her? Anyway, Fluttershy was supposed to bring her here to pick her up. Which reminds me, I wonder what's taking Fluttershy so long? Oh, and it's a girl. Her name is Sky Feathers."
