The sun showered her warm rays down on the sidewalks of Ponyville. That fresh, clean scent still perfumed the air from the rain that had passed through just recently. It couldn't be a more perfect day. Oh, wait. It could. A trip to the Cotton Candy Cafe would be the crowning touch.
Hence, Sea Doo's reason for skipping happily down the path that lead to the eatery. A pleasant smile danced across her pony features, except when the occasional stray lock of blue hair fell into her eyes. But a shake of her head solved that problem.
"Hello," Doodles (as most called her) greeted to a few, unfamiliar ponies as she passed. Being reasonably new to town, she still didn't know many of Ponyville's residents, but she wasn't too worried. She would in time.
Doodles gently pushed open the door to the Cafe and made her way inside. This certainly seemed like a good place to start. Reaching an unoccupied booth, the petite pony slid on to the cool, vinyl seat and reached for a menu that had been placed neatly at the end of the table. Now, she had a decision to make... What exactly was she going to order?

The bell over the door clanged as a white hoof pushed it open and a white pony went through. He was frowning slightly, with an overly large backpack on and a sheet of paper in his hand. He looked around the Cafe, pushing his annoying locks of too-long purple forlock from his face. He didn't have time to get his haircut. In fact, he couldn't remember the last time he had had time to get his haircut. But with his schedual, he barely had time to brush his hair, let alone do anything else to it.
Finally finding someone on the waitstaff, he handed over the application. His parents had insisted he get a job and "make time" for it, which would probably mean dropping choir. Not that he was official enrolled in or paying for the class, but so far no one had mentioned anything about it to him, so he kept going.
Turning to leave he saw a sea green pony he dimly recognized from somewhere - a class or drama or some sporting event, or one of his other numerous activities. Sea something was her name. Sea Breeze? Sea Rose? Sea Flower? He couldn't remember, so it was probably safest to go with just Sea.
"Hey, Sea, your in..." he paused, racking his brain for a class or somewhere he might know her from, "Mrs. Brandy's Bio Class right?" Well, it sounded as good as anything, she could always just say no.

Doodles, still skimming the menu, had barely glanced up when the bell rang its welcoming tune. This was the Cafe, of course ponies would come and go. And, so that bell would clang quite often. No need to pay much mind to it. Afterall, it's not like she knew anyone in town to be looking for them. No familiar faces here.
At the distinctly male voice of another pony, Sea Doo's ocean blue eyes slowly drug themselves from the menu. She smiled amiably when she realized he was speaking to her. "Mrs. Brandy's Bio. Yep, that would be right." She motioned towards the bench seat directly across the table. "Won't you sit down? And, I'm Sea Doo, by the way. Sea works just as well, though."

Dragon Eye sat in a corner, drinking coffe. His eyes was more red then usual, and he paid no attention to anything happening around him, leaning his head towards one of his hooves. He could not belive what he had seen.
Whisper Wind cheerfully entered. She wandered away to the desk and made her order of toast. Waiting for it to be done, she looked around in the café. It was empty, not counting two chatting mares and a black guy in a corner ... he looked extremly tired. Well, lets be polite and cheer him up! Whis thought with a beaming smile. "Is it ok if I sit here?" She asked the stallion, who seemed to be a few years older then her. "Sure", the stallion said, without looking at her. Whis sat down by his side, and then remembered seeing him at the nursery the day before. "You look tired ... did´nt you get any sleep tonight?" When he did not reply, she continued: "But where´s your girlfriend? And that cute little filly? I thought..." "- She´s NOT my girlfriend", Dragon said, just as calm as before. There was a moment of silence. Whis was happy to hear that - this guy deserved a girl - but man he was cute. She opened her mouth to say something, but that moment the pony behind the desk shouted: "Toast with cheese!" And Whisper Wind was off to get her breakfast. When she came back to sit by the good-looking stallion, he was steering miserabely with his spoon in the cup of coffe. "My name´s Whis, by the way. Whisper Wind." For the first time, he looked up at her. "Dragon Eye." He gave a weak smile. "Do you know if there is any dojo around here?" Not that he cared that much at the moment. Whis heart made a jump when she heard this. Such sport fascinated her - she actually trained herself. "Yeah, I think ... but it looks rather empty". "Ah". Dragon Eye looked up at the celing. "Another usless stop on my journey". Whis looked sadly at him. "Do you mean that you´re going to leave Pony Ville soon?" "Perhaps. I´m a wanderer, making travels to rise the level of my fighting skill." Whis nodded her head understanding, then returned to her tea. "Did you hear about a mystical island?" He suddenly asked. Whisper Wind looked back at the black stallion. "What kind of island?" "An island where pegasus ponies roam the sky, a tropical paradise with butterflies on every bush - the rainbowberries is said to be growing there." The purple unicorn rised an eyebrow. "Just another story, of course - I have never seen or heard anything more after that". Whis did not comment on that. She would really love to bellive that there was such a place.

(OOC: no problem about the post, we aren't terrible sticklers here ) Wondermint blinked in surprise when she said she was actually in Mrs. Brandy's Bio class. Lucky guess, he thought to himself with a smirk. "Yeah, Sea Doo, sorry about that. I'm Wondermint, but most call me Ziba. Don't ask." Even if she did he probably wouldn't have time to answer her fully. "Sit? Sure, for a second." And he was being quite litteral - in Ziba's world, a second was all he could ever spare. Grabbing out his day planner (it was very large and professional looking, not at all the cheap little things that most high schoolers got in homeroom and doodled in for the rest of the year) he flipped to the tab indicating the date and took a quick recheck of what he had left to do today. Stopping with a frown on his face, he leaned back in the booth opposite Sea Doo and closed the book. Appearantly he only had one more application to get in and then he was actually free for the day, since soccer practice had been cancelled. "Actually, it seems I have a few seconds to spare." He sat in akward silence for a moment, unsure of what he should actually do with his free time. He wasn't used to this feeling. "So, you're kinda new huh? I mean, I know you've been in classes for a while, but you didn't grow up here?" He hoped not, cause he would sound like an idiot, but he didn't have a habit of actually paying attention to other students much, so she could have gone to nursery school with him and been in nearly every class since and he probably wouldn't have noticed.

(OOC: Ok Strange thoughs runned trough Whis head while sittting there quietly by the stallion´s side. She felt things she had´nt felt for a long time - things she did not want to talk about outloud - things she had no problems with doing right here and now. Visions of herself sitting in Dragon´s lap, kissing him passionly swirled around. But somewere, through all kissing, a vocie rang out. A high voice. No. Why would he want someone like you? You´re just a kid. But all emotins pushed eachother aside. what would she do? Flirt? How? Dragon Eye starred down his cup. He looked so miserable ... somewhow scared. That emotion shone trough all others in Whisper´s heart. "What is it?" "Nothing." "I know it is." She moved closer. "Should´nt tell you. You´re..." "- Too young?" Whis snorted. Dragon looked into her eyes. No, she was´nt that young. But no one should be told. "Is it about the bloodshed?" Dragon twitched, and Whis smiled in trumph when he could´nt hide it anymore. "Yeah ... what do you know about that?" He suddenly sounded angry. He just wanted to protect the kid. "Nothing really. I´m kind of working at the nursery, you know? Last night a panik-striken mare runnned in, crying about blood-" "- Stop it!" Whis falled silent. "Just don´t talk about it, ok? You should´nt be walking around in the village right now, it is´nt safe..." Whi had moved even closer, and Dragon´s sotmach leaped in a strange way. This was´nt happening ... Starbeam...? ((Ok, something will just interupt, I´ll wait for that moment. The idea of Dragon to mention BI is that Whbis perhaps should be moved there. It´s such a peaceful and suiting place for a youngster like her.))

Gaping in what she thought was discreet awe, Sea Doo watched as her new aqquaintance set a large book that she would have guessed was a planner on the table top and flipped through until he reached today's date. A sleek eye brow shot towards the sky at this rather odd peculiarity. He carried around a day planner? One had to admit that was a little different. But, who was she to criticize? A smile continued to tug at the corner of her mouth as she returned the menu to its original place at the end of the booth. "Yeah, my family and I used to live in a teeny tiny, little town that's exactly halfway between Dream Valley and the Friendship Gardens. No one's ever really heard of it, it's that small." Doodles sighed almost wistfully, a small pang of homesickness piercing her heart. But, she pushed it away. "We've only been here for about a month. So, I don't really know anyone. Well, except you, now." "Say, are you hungry?" Sea Doo asked suddenly, already waving animatedly to catch the attention of the pony who seemed to take the customers' orders. When she had fully aqquired it, she stated her desire rather firmly, considering it hadn't been but a minute or two ago when she couldn't decide what she wanted. "I'll have a double chocolate fudge brownie, please, but could you put a cherry on top?" The slightly amused pony nodded. "Ok. Great. And, Ziba here will have -" Doodles paused and glanced at him. "What would you like? I'm paying." [[ooc: Well, this is a little better. And, if no one's noticed, Doodles is a bit of a chatterbox. ]]

Ziba was rather taken aback at the quick change in the filly before him. In one second she seemed a bit nostalgic, and then suddenly, taking over the situation and controling it. He kinda liked that. This girl could hold her own with a busy pony like himself.
"I'll have a Rainbowberry Tart, thanks." He shifted his backpack to the side of the booth closest the wall so it was no longer leaning on himself. "Hey, thanks for the snack. If I ever manage to get a job I'll repay you." Of course, he wasn't too worried about it, he was usually able to come up with some sort of arrangement for situations like this. With that Harper- mare all he had to do was make her a bowl of ice cream and let her take a book and she fixed his backpack. And Great Rainbows the poor bag hadn't broke since. Yep, trading worked just fine in his mind.
"You know, you should join some groups or something, then you'd know more than enough people." He stopped and grabbed out his planner again, where he very convieniently kept a list of all the school groups that he had the possibility of someday joining. "Drama is fun, and choir. Band isn't bad if you can already play an instrument, but orchestra is boring so don't bother with that. Um..." he ran a hoof down the list until he found something good, "they have a swim team? You seem like a watery kinda pony. Oh! And water polo. There's a Course Club if you like history and castles and that sort of thing. The ski team, bowling team, and that group that claims to be mages to the old gods, but let me warn you ponies are going to look at you funny and basically steer clear if you join that." He looked up expectantly, "which one do you like? I have the information right here for joining any of them."

A sudden BANG made the coyple stop what they were about to do. A waitress started to bick up her brick along with some glass from the floor. There was an emrassing silence by the table. Dragon was the first to think out something to say. "I really should get going ..." He left som coins at the table and sprang to his feet. At the door he turned around to call: "See you." Then he was off. (Cont. ) Whis slightly disapointed remainded by the table. She had never kissed anypony. No body had ever loved her. Not in that way. She sighed and started to seer in her cup of tea.

[[ooc: oy, this is a bit rambly. hehe. *throws a snowball at Becka and Whis* ]]
Watching as their selected treats were brought towards them, Sea Doo smiled. He certainly was a very busy pony. Not to mention a well-informed one, as well. It was almost kind of cute, she thought. Most colts didn't really care to keep a schedule, and then they wondered what went wrong when they ran late.
"Oh, you're welcome," Doodles responded, as the waitress set their snacks on the table and rushed back to the counter. She seemed almost as busy as Ziba. "And, don't worry about paying me back. I wouldn't have asked if I didn't want to take care of it." She cut off a corner of the brownie with the fork that had came with it.
While she listened to him spout off the numerous clubs and activities she could join, Sea Doo thought it wasn't such a bad idea. She would get to meet a lot of ponies and that would mean more friends. Like her gramdma always used to say, 'you could never have too many friends'. But, she prefered a saying that she had heard sometime ago, 'friends come and go but enemies accumalate.' It was pretty accurate. And, really kind of funny.
"I like the idea of joining the swim team, but I don't know. I guess I'll have to think about it." The aqua blue pony chewed thoughtfully, when she abruptly looked up at Ziba. "What clubs are you in?" She was genuinely curious. Maybe she'd join a club where she already knew someone.
Doodles was always an oddball, and most people swore she had ADD. However, she liked being random. It caught others off gaurd. "You know, maybe we should invite her over..." Sea Doo suggested, looking in the direction of the purple Unicorn, who seemed to be down in the dumps.

Well, her philosophy certainly was a good one - don't offer if you don't mean it. Ziba always found himself offering things merely out of politeness and then sticking his hoof in his mouth when someone accepted. Ahh the complications of high school social life.
Ziba ignored his tart for the time being as she mentioned the swim team. He riffled through a stack of papers and pulled one out with "Ponyville HS Swim Team" in large font across the top. It had all the rules and requirements for joining the swim team, as well as when tryouts were and the like. He laid it on the table and flipped it with his hoof so it was facing Sea Doo, then slid it across as he had seen lawyers and other buisness types do in movies and tv shows. It would have been very smooth if the table hadn't had a drop of water and stopped the paper, smearing the ink.
"Well, still readable I guess, and I can always get another one tommorrow." He shrugged with a frown and was lifting the paper up to shake it off when she asked her question.
"What clubs are you in?"
A smile immediately replaced the frown as he started naming them off. "Well, my regular list includes drama, choir, band (both the marching band and the orchestral band), tennis, baseball, soccer, the Ponyville Players (which you have to try out for, but its great fun), and the PonyU Glee Club. But I have to quit Glee Club and get a job." He frowned. "I also attend many of the debate and student senate meetings. And sometimes the bio club. Or the book of the month club. But only when they have good books that month. Oh yeah, and I'm on the triathalon team." He looked up and thought for a moment, trying to remember if there were any others. "Probably one or two more, but I can't keep them straight. That's why I have this," he held up the large planner.

Sea Doo's jaw dropped. "You're in that many after-school activities?" She shook her head, her two-toned forelock flying in and out of her eyes. "I don't know how you do it! I'd have grey hairs by now!"
It completely blew her mind that some ponies could busy themselves with something to do at every single second of the day. Sea Doo, personally, enjoyed her free time. She could explore the nooks and crannies of Ponyville, watch clouds float by, nap in the late afternoon suhshine... There was so much you could do without having a planner to organize it all. Of course, Doodles hated schedules. Having to be at a certain place at a certain time was not only grating, but a sure fire way to make you old before your time.
If Ziba continued to hang around with her, he'd probably be taught how to play hookie. At that thought, Sea Doo grinned, but quickly focused her attention back on the white and purple pony. "What do you say after this you give me a tour of Ponyville? A local is sure to know all the out-of-the-way and magical spots. And, maybe I can show you what an afternoon of nothing to do is like." She winked playfully and shoveled a large bite of brownie in her mouth.

Ziba laughed, shock was the usual response he got after listing off his activities. "Well, that's why I keep this with me at all times. And why my backpack keeps breaking..." he mumbled the last part.
Finally finding the time in the conversation to eat his tart, he downed it in three bites. He had become used to having to scarf food quickly, and even in this laid back afternoon old habits were hard to break.
"Yeah sure, give you a tour would be fun. I've just got to stop by the bookshop and hand over my app." An afternoon of nothing? Since he had been able to walk and talk and think he had not had an afternoon of nothing. "What, exactally, do you do in an afternoon of nothing?"

Doodles looked up sharply from her brownie, her slender brow arching slightly. She was positive she didn't hear that correctly. He didn't know what to do on a carefree afternoon? The aqua hued pony almost twitched. This boy was going to be harder to train than she thought! "Whatever you feel like doing, Ziba!" She grinned that charming yet roguish smile of her's and tossed a rolled-up straw paper at him. "Whether that be swimming in a secluded pond, far away from it all. Or skating down the main streets of Ponyville." Sea Doo shook her head almost in lament. "Honestly, haven't you had a free day in your life?" [ooc: sorry it's so short. I'm not feeling too well. ]

Ziba thought for a moment - a free day? Free from scheduals and classes and things to do? Not that he could remember. "I think I had one once, when I was in kindergarden." Although he probably hadn't, he didn't want to feel terribly stupid before this mare, and he had already started to blush.
"So we can do whatever we want? When do we know to stop? When do we know to go on to the next thing?" Where is the order in that!
"I'm not sure I'm going to be very good at this," he mumbled to himself. He was very much overwhelmed by this not having a schedual thing. At least it was only this afternoon. Then tommorrow would go back to normal. Unless soccer practice was cancelled again....
Oh, he didn't like to think of that.
