Jewel smiled, chuckling softly at the actor's trick. He certainly was charming all around, which had probably drawn her to him in the first place. Being a bit older, he possessed a lot of characteristics that she, as a younger but somewhat precocious mare, appreciated.
"...It was a little embarrassing when my coworker up staged me and juggled an orange, an apple, two lemons, and my glass eye in front of the producers."
"Well, they were professionals, weren't they?" Jewel asked, helping to heal Peri's possible bruised ego. "I mean, it's not like your girlfriend showed you up, at least.." As she said this, she picked up a strawberry in one hoof, and in a few very quick and slight movements, held both hooves out before him, opening one then the other, neither of which had the strawberry. With a smile, she opened her mouth slightly to show the strawberry between her teeth. With a chuckle and a grin, she chewed and swallowed it.

"Well, I'll be d*mned," he chuckled at the magic trick the peg had pulled. Peri, although an actor and one for the stage, was not too well with performing magic tricks. "But if it was my girlfriend, I wouldn't be upset, I'd be proud."
There was a slight silence as he coyly watched, his hoof expertly cutting the french toast with the side of his fork. "So...how'd you do it?"
He couldn't resist. Although he stunk terribly at the tricks, it was always childish fantasies to see how the tricks were done. His mother used to pull quarters from his ears when he was little. Told him his father used to do it, and although Peri never remembered him, he still liked to imagine him teaching him the quarter trick. Anything, slight of hoof, rabbit from a hat, Peri was willing to observe and learn.

"But if it was my girlfriend, I wouldn't be upset, I'd be proud."
The golden peg smiled, blushing ever so slightly. "That's good to know." She continued to cut at her waffles, eating them hungrily, but patiently. Oh, how long it had been since she'd had waffles!
"So...how'd you do it?"
"Now, if I told you that," She grinned, using her fork for emphasis, "Where would the magic be?" The pegasus winked, giving the actor a sly smile, as she took another bite of waffle, then licked the syrup from her lips.

"Ah, and that is what a true magician would've said too.," he grinned, easing a few of the cut portions of his toast in his mouth. This was followed by a few more berries and a sip of milk. With how thick the syrup had been lathered on, he wouldn't be surprised if he'd be full the rest of the day on this.
"Any idea what you want to do after breakfast, dear Jewel?"

"Any idea what you want to do after breakfast, dear Jewel?"
"Mmm..." The pegasus swallowed the last of her waffle and paused to think. "I don't know," Jewel proceeded to draw designs in the remaining syrup with her fork. "Any interest in walking off some of this food? We could head over toward the Outer Edges.. maybe the River?"

"The River sounds right," Peri Winkle suggested, after Jewel suggested it herself. It was that nice time of year before it got too terrible hot. With the sun shinning the way it was today, it would reflect such lovely colors of the water. It would be a nice thing to just sit down and lazily watch without having to suffer from summer heat. They could always through a picnic by it's banks.
"Then we can fly kites on the hill, if it suit you, m'lady." He chuckled. "Or atleast attempt to, there probably won't be much wind today. We might have to tie them to the back of the scooter and send them off that way." The actor gave a sidways glance outside the cafe to assure him his vehicle was still parked. It wasn't.
However, the initial shock perhaps stunned him too much, for he turned back to Jewel, took one bite of his food, before darting his head back around in sudden panic, realization hitting him. "Oh horse manure!," Peri snickered before dropping several bills on the table and making his way towards the door.

Jewel smiled happily as Peri described what the afternoon's activities might include. She was about to reply to his plans when a shocked and upset looked crossed the face of the actor across from her.
"Oh horse manure!"
Jewel swiftly followed the other out the door, waiting to ask questions. They were soon on the streets of ponyville.
