Hollow was following up on the situation as best he could through the connection Razz had opened for him. He sensed a tinge of guilt and smiled coolly.
Do you feel sorry for every enemy you kill as well? he asked with a rather brutally cold thought. He had little compassion, especially for a foolish police officer. He is obviously easily handled. Why not try to urge him to think he's in a hurry to the bathroom already? He paused for a while. In any case, we will be leaving on a balloon. It will get us there faster.

Do you feel sorry... These words echoed.
Well, yes. Razz said pointedly to Hollow while keeping on Moe. He was now setting the seeds for a long potty break. To lose our compassion would be to lose what we cherish most about life in the first place. Without that, why do we fight? Besides, he is no enemy. He is merely a friend standing in the way. All that takes is a gentle push. And in saying so, he pushed Moe harder, to feel full, bloated, tingling...
A hot air balloon? His concentration slipped as he became excited. He calmed himself quickly and focused again on Moe. Full...full...soooo full...toooo full... and then That's great. I haven't been in a hot air balloon in a long time.

Hollow wrinkled his nose at Razz's pointed answer. His heart felt a pang at his words about compassion. Was he that cold already, that he felt none? Was it bad?
Did he care?
He struggled away from those thoughts as Razz's thoughts went to the hot air balloon. He had to smile.
It's not really a holiday flight, you know, he noted to Razz, a matter-of-fact tone to his thoughts.
Privately, he went back into his dark reverie. Razz's words about compassion and life got to him. Nagged on him. Why was he fighting for? He felt no compassion, he told himself. He didn't care. Everyone could die for all he cared - and he saw them doing so, every second, every heartbeat, every moment. Then why had the Rainbow chosen him? Would he fight, even if his heart was set on impartiality? Why had the Rainbow chosen him?
Because you are needed. The answer made Hollow shiver ever so slightly, and he felt the mark of the Yellow Stripe on his rump as a quiet heat. He had to shift nervously.
Because you are needed. The answer was so simple. Needed. It made Hollow swallow. Someone... needed him? Something important needed him?
He couldn't tell for sure what he felt about it. He tried not to feel anything.
Still, he felt a warmth he had not felt in a long, long time, spread somewhere at the bottom of his heart. He was needed.

Roxy took deep breaths as she continued to wait from her spot on the floor.
She felt a little tickle of warm yellow once when she blinked, and the corner of her mouth went up. Go give Yellow a pat on the muzzle for me. She conjured up the image of the Blue Stripe in her mind and let it flit off.

Hollow jumped back when he felt the touch of the Blue Stripe, and flattened his ears a little, arching his neck downwards. He wasn't very used to any kind of a show of affection or other attention. Usually he preferred not to be noticed. Still, he had to admit he didn't completely resent any attention given by the blue stripe. Roxanne intrigued him.

(Gsnar! The power of suggestion... when I read, "She felt a little tickle of warm yellow..." I immediately thought she had tinkled herself. Whoot.)

(lol, oh yes, that would be quite a sticky, stinky mess)
Hey, now. Now is not the time to get all giddy like a school filly.
Coon flinched just slightly as Razzaroo scorned her casual flirting thoughts. She raised an almost indignant eyebrow, one to question whether it was her fault that such a lovely mare was standing right beside her? Roxy was just simply a fine mare that one just couldn't ignore, especially Coon.
The fact that Roxy was overly golden, shiny, and simply dazzled only held sway over Coon all the more. Golden items were a character flaw, mix it with a mare and she was in trouble. Naturally the blue stripe also played a role in this.
Darn, my bad. Coon's thoughts touched out to Razz. Having not matched his name from the time she had earlier met him with Kail, Coon presumed Razz was over protective of Roxy. Didn't realize she was taken.

Moe's belly soon felt full and bloated with water. He felt as if his steps would produce sloshing sounds when he moved.
"Full...full...soooo full...toooo full... and then That's great. I haven't been in a hot air balloon in a long time."
Then it hit him. He had to GO!
Reasoning with himself that the mare would be in capable hands until he could relieve himself, the sherrif pony hurried down a nearby corridor. For a moment, he paused.
"I should take a balloon ride someday."
The stallion would have possibly pondered the origin of this thought, but was indeed to urgently in need of the facilities.

Roxanne squinched up her eyes. Rooooooooooooo can we break for it yet? I'm cramping up from nerves in places I didn't know I had!

Yes, yes, I think he'll be busy for a few minutes now. I will join you outside, just as soon as he's out of view and I can sneak out. Razz thought outward to Roxy.

Hollow sensed from the others that they were finally ready to break loose. He shifted his hooves and came out from the alley behind the houses, his ears swivelling to all directions nervously but his eyes pasted on the door he was certain they were coming out of.

"Hell yeah! Run for it, babe!"
And with a spurt of released energy, Roxanne grabbed the grey pony's hoof and catapulted down the hallway. Dirt and leaves stirred up and fluttered down behind them, and in a second they were lost from sight of the wreckage.
Roxy kept her mouth shut until they flew out of the castle gates, but once free of the confines of the stone, she pulled the grey onto the grass and let the momentum of their flight roll them - bump, bump, bump - down the hill.
"Hooohoohooohoo!!"
At the bottom, she skidded around a corner at the edge of town and, before she could stop, they dogpiled right on top of Hollow Heart.
Roxanne cracked up, disregarding the plights of the other ponies she had dragged down with her; she hadn't had a time this good in a while.

Hollow was, despite all his nervous waiting and cautiousness, taken by surprise by Roxy's and Coon's appearance, and couldn't avoid the collision. He bumped his head on the yellow mare and collapsed, hitting his shoulder onto the street.
"Ouch!" he said and got onto his feet as quickly as he could, glaring at the laughing mare. "Watch where you're going, will you?" he said and shook his black mane angrily. He flattened his ears and looked at them both. His eyes were especially intently on the grey mare now. He had heard this one was a thief, and that meant that he might have only agreed on helping them in order to get out of the jail comfortably. Hollow strained himself at the ready to jump in case Coon would try to run.

Roxanne cocked one ear forward and one back, unsure of how to react. She stifled her giggles and looked sheepishly at Hollow Heart. "Sorry chap. You all right?"
