The stallion brushed his hair away from his eyes again. He was happy with the fact that he was not shying away from the mare's kindness. His large wings hugged his body as he cleared his throat.
"So, uh, tell me more about you."

Dazzle Surprise smiled. "Well, I do love celebrations. And I have a friend, who moved to Dream Valley a while ago. I also have a home in the grasslands." She explained to the stallion. She did think for that moment that she really was falling in love. But could it be?

"And I have a friend, who moved to Dream Valley a while ago."
Ken'aku fell silent. He had never had many friends... Ken was usually aloof, but he was beginning to become sick of being lonely.
No-one would want to be friends with you anyway...
Ken'aku shook his head. This isn't like you... You've never been one to wallow in self-pity before...
The black alicorn seemed distracted for a moment, but soon he looked back into Dazzle's light green eyes.
"I bet you miss her, huh?"

The lavander mare nodded. "Yea, she's an excellent surfer. Her name's Sweet Summertime. She used to have a job at the Cotton Candy Cafe." She told the alicorn.
Dazzle Surprise could tell she really liked the alicorn. And she was certain that she was in love with him. But she wasn't sure if Ken felt the same way about her.

Ken'aku was truly happy that the mare was warming up to him, not casting him aside like so many others did. He laid back on the grass next to the river and said softly, "Do you ever feel like you're all alone...?"

Dazzle blinked at the alicorn's question. "Sometimes." She replied. "I mean, well, after my parents moved away, I guess it's somewhat lonely in my house. And I am too young to get married."
She looked up at the sky, then back at the alicorn.

The black alicorn watched as the clouds slowly moved through the sky. He hesitated for a moment before admitting, "I never knew my parents. Well... I did, but that was long ago... And I don't remember them."

"Really? Wow." She replied. She could sense that he didn't really want to talk about it, so she decided to change the subject. "Beautiful day today, huh?"

Ken smiled a little as the mare hastily changed the subject. That was fine with him, as it was true that he didn't really want to talk about it... There wasn't much to say on the matter anyway. One minute he was with his parents, the next he had dissapeared, and he didn't know why.
"Yes... Yes it's a very nice day..." He said, as a butterfly fluttered past him.

The lavander mare smiled. She looked into the water and saw some rainbow-colored fish swimming around. She did like animals. She then thought of her cat, Fluffy. She loved her dearly.
She looked back at the stallion. "Well, whenever I'm alone, I usually spend some time with my cat, Fluffy. Then I'm not alone anymore." She said. "Do you own any pets?"

Ken'aku showed faint signs of a smile. "Yes," He said. "A young kitten by the name of Amai." He looked around for a moment. He didn't know where Amai was... Amai didn't live with him, he let her roam around wherever she wanted, because he knew she would always come back to him...

Dazzle Surprise smiled. "That's a nice name for a kitten." She replied. She saw some birds in the sky flying around. She wished she could fly like them. She wondered what it was like to fly. She slowly closed her eyes and lowered her head as a soft breeze blew her mane.

Ken followed Dazzle's gaze to where the birds were flying above. He ruffled his own wings as he watched them soar about in the sky. Ken'aku then shifted his gaze to the pretty mare, and as a gentle breeze played with his black, purple and silver hair, he said quietly, "I suppose you wish you were up there with those birds."

The lavander mare turned to the alicorn. "Well, yes. I do." She said. "I have always wondered what it's like to fly."

"It's okay..." Ken'aku said softly. "It's good to escape from the world below sometimes..."
