OoC: Wing Song's not Breezie's mother, but I can see why you would assume that I'll try to make that more clear from now on. They're roomies, and Wing Song is older and more mature. She basically takes care of Breezie, though.Breezie flashed Wing Song a large, hopeful grin. "Well...I guess a guinea pig would be okay - I mean, it's not a tarantula or anything..." "YAY!!!" Wing Song winced at Breezie's earsplitting shriek, and later wondered just how many caged animals she had scared out of their wits. Breezie whirled around to face Stella. "Can I have a look at them? Oh, I've never officially had a pet before! How many are there? How old? Are they boys or girls?" Wing Song smirked at her comment of never officially having a pet before, imagining how many critters she must have hid up in her room when she lived on Butterfly Island. She rolled her eyes for the shopkeeper to see, telling her to ignore the barrage of questions. "Can we just perhaps see some out of their cages?" She asked Stella with a wink.

The hodded queen of Flutter Valley smiled beneth her pearly-white mane as a white youngster shouted with joy. She looked back at the kitten. "Yeah, defintly the white," she said more to the cats then to herself.

A small *ding* floated through the air as the blue mare walked into the pet shop. Her coal black mane, though still wind-blown, settled roughly over her face and neck as the door slowly swung shut behind her. Lilia began to browse the shop, looking for the perfect pet.

Breezie watched the other mare enter, and at the same time closed her eyes in contentment for the moment that the door was open. I love when it's windy out!, she thought happily. However, it again swung closed and she forced herself to pay attention to the fluffy, adorable guinea pigs in the cage in front of her. And I get to take one home! Breezie knew to distract herself because thinking of the wind outside, and the fact that there was absolutely no wind inside, was a sure-fire way to get herself feeling very claustrophobic. The young mare groaned inwardly, thinking of how she had come near fainting several times when she was very young. I've got to get a fan for the apartment!

(ooc: I'm so sorry PWS! I was so wrapped up with the gods storyline that I forgot about this!)
Stellaluna looked over her shoulder as Lilia entered the pet shop.
"Hi! Welcome to Tails n' Whiskers. I'll be right with you." She said calmly with a smile.
"Can I have a look at them? Oh, I've never officially had a pet before! How many are there? How old? Are they boys or girls?"
Stella was a bit taken back by Breezie's multitude of rapid questions. She noticed the roll of Wing Songs eye with a half-grin. However, she tried to answer them the best she could.
"Um, I have five or six of them right now. I don't know how old they are, but they look like full-grown adults, and they're all boys because if I mixed boys with girls in one cage they'd multiply like crazy."
"Can we just perhaps see some out of their cages?"
"Sure." Stella said with a twitch of her ears. She walked to the corner of the room were some large boxes were kept. She opened each one individually, looking for the ones that contained the cages. Finally finding it she shoved it across the floor with her forehead to where Wing Song and Breezie stood. She pulled out the two cages from the box and sat them next to each other on the floor.
"This is a standard cage." She said, pointing to the first one. "It comes with a tray that slides out undernieth for easy cleaning."
"And this one is more fancy and a bit more expensive..." She pointed to the seccond one. "...because the bars are shapped for it to look more like a house than a cage. You'd be paying extra for the looks, really. It also comes with a tray that slides out underneith."

((I figured as much - it's okay. )) Breezie stared with large, pleading eyes at Wing Song, who sighed and said, "Well, I guess we might as well go with the fancier one - it sounds like a slide-out tray would make cage cleaning easier anyway." Breezie grinned and turned to Stella. "Great! Now can I choose my guinea pig? What colors do you have?" ((I'm not sure, but I think I'm leaning towards a guinea pig with either the markings of my first guinea pig, Cookie, who was a dutch, or my current guinea pig, Mikey - a tortoise shell and white. Oh - and I know the markings because I love reading guinea pig owner manuals, and I look for the marking names for my pigs! ))

"Uh, good choice." Stella said with a half-smile. She was still getting used to all these "customer service" things.
She turned on her heels and walked over to a large glass cage. "This way, to the guina pigs."
There before them were six gina pigs. Some were long haired while others had relatively short hair. Some were basic earthtone colors with white markings here and there, some where solid colors, and there was on male a bit smaller than the others who had a tortoise shell pattern.

Breezie looked into the cage with a squeal. "They're sooo cute!" She peered in at a male piggy with a tortoise shell pattern and long fur, sticking up in messy clumps. The white mare could tell by looking at the guinea pig that he wasn't the most energetic of the bunch, but she could't help herself - it was love at first sight. "That one", she said with finality. ((I made the little fella a long hair because I decided that I didn't want him exactly like any of my pigs.))

"Okay." Stella replied in an upbeat tone. "He's a cute little guy."
She picked up, out of the cage and placed him in a small cardboard box carefully, so he wouldn't get hurt. It even had convinient little handels attacted for an easy trip home.
She carried the box, the cage and a bag of appropriate food to the register counter.
"Anything else?" She added.

"That'll do", Wing Song replied, placing the appropriate amount of cash on the counter. She smiled, because the pig would also be her first pet, and she couldn't help but be excited. Breezie picked up the guinea pig in his little carrier, all smiles, and followed Wing Song out the door with the other bags hanging precariously over one hoof. "Thanks!", she calles as she passed through the doorway, and took time to add with a wink, " - And I'll be back to see about that tarantula!"

As the two headed out the door and one memtioned the tarantulas, Stella's muscles tensed. She didn't want to think of reaching her hoof in those cages. Heck, she could barely keep herself together when feeding them.
"Um, sure! Anytime!" She replied. Have a good day!"
As the two mares left she did some brief sweeping and finally decided to lock up for the day. She wanted to get some fresh air herself.
"The store is closing now." Stellaluna said to the remaining mare, Lilia, and led her out the door. "Check back here tommorow morning, okay?" She said. She did feel rather bad for shooing a customer out the door, but she wanted to take care of some business of her own.
