With a surprised smile to his face, Peri watched with intrigue as Amr made himself comfortable and drifted consciousness. Perhaps this wouldn't be too bad an experience after all.
Yeah... Peri thought. This'll be fine. Just like when Jewel and I shared a bed. All I have to remember is this winged thing has claws...and a beak...that can do me bodily harm...
He winced at that line of thought. As precaution, he weaseled as much space between them, and curled up his legs. Calmly he lowered his head down to his legs, eye lids blinking, and then drifting shut. If he were lucky he'd have pleasant dreams of Jewel all night.

[[jump to morning]]
The next morning found two bodies sleeping peacefully on Peri's bed. Though one took up considerably more room than the other.
The silver-black griffin had stretched out over the length of the bottom half of the bed, front talons draped over one side, and back paws dangling off the other. His wings were half-folded, flopped across both Peri and the foot of the bed. Amr's back rose and fell peacefully, with no intention of waking. His right talon opened and closed, signaling the exotic creature was dreaming about something.

Much in the manor as Amr, Peri was within nearly the same position. One leg hung limply off the edge of the bed, another strewn across the mattress. A pillow was drapped across his face to conceal his eye from the light dappling into the windows. His body twitched when the feathers on Amr's wings tickled him just slightly. All in all, it was if they two had done this for ages.

The daylight nearly roused Amr from his sleep as well. The griffin yawned softly, and in one swift movement, rolled casually onto his back, wings outspread, halfway on Peri. Amr snorted once, kicked a back paw, and fell asleep again.

"Uhm....waffles..." Peri sleepily mumbled, hugging the pillow to his face. In his state of half consciousness, he lolled the pillow over and half smacked, half dropped it upon Amr. He then rolled over, curling into a ball and heaving a content sigh.

Peri's mumbling and shuffling was quickly rousing the sleepy griffin. As the pillow smacked Amr's stomach, the griffin let out a squawk of surprise, much like a dog might yelp. Only, in the silence of the morning and coming from a half-bird creature.. it was quite a crude and sharp sound.

Instantly Peri flinched upright from the abrupt shrillness that radiated from the body beside him. What was once a sleepy daze, was now full alertness and panic. Whom Peri had thought to be Jewel in his bed was the feathered beast of burden. Having forgotten how he'd gotten in the predicament at all, having been drunk the night before, Peri let out a rather shrill cry of his own, pillow in hoof again ready to smack the beast away once more.

Amr was instantly on his feet as Peri became hostile toward him. Was this apple of Jewel's eye not submissive to him just last night? How dare he try to take on one so majestic as a griffin!
The silver-black creature opened its sharp beak ominously, a sound the mixture of a growl and a cooing bird-like sound emitting from within. Many of his feathers stood on end, making him seem bigger than he was. The overall display was frightening, but he made no move to hurt the actor. Amr, as did many proud griffins, only demanded respect.
When the griffin was standing, it was evident that the amulet Peri had been wearing was gone from the actor, and instead rested amidst the silver feathers of the griffin's chest.
At the door, Kimono peeked in nervously, ears swiveling back and forth. He moved to speak, but realized he didn't exactly want to draw Amr's attention.

Peri, his mind a frizzled, frantic mess, ended up scooting back, trying to distance himself from the now much larger creature. Thus, he ended up scooting right off the edge of the bed, falling with an oof to the ground. He did not hesitate in darting under his bed for cover. Pillow still in hoof, he managed out, "I'm armed!"

As Peri fell from the bed, Amr's feathers started to settle and a look of amusement danced in his eyes. Yes, he certainly was going to enjoy himself while Jewel was away. Amr sat peacefully on his haunches, waiting for Peri to resurface.
"Peri--Don't," Kimono's voice came surprisingly calmly from the doorway. The purple stallion had been woken by the squawking and commotion, and had rushed to be sure Peri wasn't hurt. Naturally, he had feared more for the actor's sake than for the griffin.
Kimono, being the bookworm he was, had read many a work on the mythical creatures of the worlds, and had stumbled more than once onto the subject of griffins.
The purple stallion walked a few steps into the room and tipped his nose down in a nod to the griffin, who seemed all too pleased by this acknowledgement. He nodded back, and puffed up his chest slightly. Kimono entered the room.
"You have to try to be nice to him, Peri," Kimono said to the underneath of the bed, though Peri could only see the stallion's feathered hooves. "If you're nice to him, he's nice to you. Griffins are very proud creatures."

"Nice?" Peri merely but squeaked up, "He's the one who was in my bed." He pointed an accusing hoof up with shaky emphasis.
Then, the night before still shaky, he questioned, "What in rainbows are you doing here?"

"Nice?" Peri merely but squeaked up, "He's the one who was in my bed."
"Peri, he's a griffin," Kimono said gently, full aware that the actor might not be feeling his best after a night of mournful drinking, "He'll respond civilly if you treat him civilly.. he acts with reciprocity. Try being kind to him, and you'll earn his respect."
"What in rainbows are you doing here?"
The purple stallion looked somewhat surprised.
"You mean, you don't remember last night?"
(( I had to say it XD ))

(lol, at the college library right now. hour before my first class. thought I'd make a post for you.)
"Last... night...?" Peri said in almost a squeak again. What exactly did happen last night? He couldn't quite remember. The soap star was well aware that Jewel had departed earlier the afternoon last. But after that...there was the cafe, and Kimono and Ice Crystal was there....but....everything else was just a little blurry.
"Uh...no, no I don't remember last night," his voice reached some normalcy as he continued to hesitantly peek out to Amr above. Slowly, assuredly he gave Amr a wary nod to acknowledge he was still there, and moved easily back out from his bed. "What happened last night?"
(I do not believe the computers here have a program with a spell check feature, unfortunately)

The purple stallion sighed and rubbed his nose bridge against a foreleg before speaking to Peri again. "Well, the Champs left, and then we met up with Rose and her son at the Cafe. We walked them home aaand crashed here," Kimono sniffled a moment, looking a bit tired despite the long night.
Amr seemed pleasantly surprised at Peri's change of heart. The griffin settled down again, and emitted a soft cooing sound. His amber eyes shifted to Kimono, who he found very interesting. The purple hair of the stallion's coat reminded him of Jewel's hair, and he found himself drawn to colors which reminded him of the pegasus.

"Pony feathers...," Peri mumbled in cursing as he got to his hooves and stretched painfully to remove the kinks from his back. With one last residing shake, he settled, taking a good look around to recount himself.
The night prior was blurred, yes, but he did recall feeling anger, and being unremarkably upset. Testing one hoof he could feel it bruised...had he gotten a drunken fight? Rainbow only knew. Considering that they'd encountered Rose and Tsuwari, Peri couldn't possibly believe anything good came of that. Especially not after the tift Jewel, Roux, Glayse, Rose, and he had out in the woods.
Groggily, in an early morning fashion, he rubbed the back of his head in thought, and his chest to get the circulation going. "So...what's for breakfast?"
