"I can tell when it's going to rain," Silverfall said playfully.

"That's cool. It goes well with my power."

Turning a curious eye toward Paradise, Silverfall asked, "Oh, what power is that?"

"I can create tropical storms, and any size, to!"

"Well, how about that," Silverfall said, absorbing the thought. "I bet that would come in handy."

The wind carried the scent of hyacinths on the air. Silverfall thought it was strange for that time of year, but was feeling too good to give it much notice. Shaking her mane and then her whole body, she stepped away from the river, whistling to her dog at she went. The dog came quickly, padding beside her.
In the shadow of the trees, she stopped. Looking back at Paradise, she gave her a kind smile. "We're off to explore more of the woods. You are welcome to join us."

Paradise trotted up beside Silverfall, "I'd be glad to."

Silverfall nodded to Paradise, kicked up her heels and took to running. Bandit eagerly bounded ahead. They traveled through the mountain forest, surprising the wildlife.
In the back of her mind, Silverfall was still entertaining private thoughts of the ordeal in Ponyville. But the smell of the fresh air and the sunlight scattered through the trees and the warmth that generated from the earth held her.

Paradise gave a playful buck and flew(not literally) after the unicorn.

Silverfall continued running until she reached a point in the woods where the sun was shining down brightly through a large gap in the trees. Skidding to a halt, Silverfall realized she was back at the spot where she had first met Razzaroo. The purple and gold hot air balloon was strewn about the trees. Walking underneath the basket still tangled and swinging from partly broken branches, Silverfall remembered vividly that day of the storm.
A dark evil had touched her then. She shook the memory off. But it lingered. Surely she could not turn her back on Ponyville. Not knowing what evil was likely to bring down upon it? Yet there was a part of her that longed for home... for the Smoking Mountains and the cool chinchilla burrows. It made her think of fire and death... and she shivered.
For a moment she stood in silence.

Paradise skidded to a halt just as Silverfall shivered. "What's the matter?"

"It was a ripple," Silverfall said. "Death ripples through the world's aura. When natural, the ripples are soft, gentle. This one was not. We must head back to town." Being in Ponyville would again dull her senses and she hated the thought of going back now more than ever. "I must go back," she said.
Turning to Paradise, she said, "You would do well to stay here. Great trouble is coming to Ponyville. But if you have a brave heart, they would welcome you're help."

Razzaroo burst through the trees, startled to see Silverfall and a strange white pegasus examining his sky balloon.

Butterscotch barely managed to keep herself from falling over as she braked to a halt. "What is it? ...Who are they? Uh... is that one Silverfall?" She asked, pointing a hoof at a gray unicorn who seemed to fit the description. How could she have forgotten about the case?
