The wooden door creaked as Jewel pushed it open with a hoof, and entered her small home, griffin in tow. She let it swing open, where it stayed, as the stallions followed.
She said nothing as purple eyes scanned the one-room cottage, mind thinking over what things she might need or not need, what to leave with Peri--
leave with Peri.. the words stuck in her head for a moment. Her inner hostess saved her from persuing the thought much longer.
"Would you guys like something to drink? Or eat?" She asked in a quiet, mentally distant voice.

Having run straight here from the center of town, Razz ran up to the front door and tried to cry out. It came out like a puffy huff and suddenly he was gasping for air. He waved his hooves about and tried to catch his breath.
Wait! Wait!

The pegasus's ears perked as her head swung toward the door. Without hesitation, she opened it and regarded Razz with both curiosity and concern.
Noting how exhausted he seemed, her first reaction was to glance behind him, around the area, to make sure nothing had chased him there.
"Here.. come in.." Jewel sensed the other as a Champion as well, and kept a calm and patient aura as Razz caught his breath.

The actor dismissively replied, "No thank you." Suddenly, he felt sick at the sound of his voice. It was so distant, so...unfamiliar. Spoken as if he didn't even know Jewel personally. His ears flattened and he visibly hung his head dishearteningly.
As if to reassure himself, or to keep his mind off the prior events, he raised a hoof to his face to assess that, yes, his eye was still in it's socket. With a glance to an off the side mirror, Peri adjusted the glass eye, bringing the pupil and iris back into a semi realistic position. Wait to go Peri. I'm sure you looked REALLY intimidating looking cross eyed.
A sigh later, Peri had recomposed himself and appeared just as calmly as ever. Dazedly, he glanced at Amr, before turning again to the door. He felt fidgety.

Coughing like he was about to toss out a hair ball, Razz waved Jewel off and shook his head back and forth very fast. Mental projections in his mind showed him down on his knees, coughing up blood and worse. He was regaining his breath, but shivering. It was almost as if he would faint. The psi mark behind his ear was burning.
"I-I think I should sit, he said. "No, I can't." He shook his head again. "I have to find the others. The other champions." His eyes found Jewel's. The throbbing in his head would not ease, nor would the burning. "You...one. Champion of Light." He looked her up and down. It was like he could see right into her. "You are getting ready, yes? You will come with me?" He closed his eyes and tried to focus, but it was so very hard to clear his head.

In the presence of the two other champions, Jewel's eye-star symbol between her eyes glowed softly for an instant. Razz's appearance was quick to establish fear and worry in her heart.
"I-I think I should sit, he said. "No, I can't." He shook his head again. "I have to find the others. The other champions."
"You'll be no good passed out in the woods somewhere," Jewel said as sensibly as she could, though her voiced quivered ever so slightly. "Please, at least be still for a few minutes and try to calm down."
"You...one. Champion of Light."
"Yes," She responded, recognizing Razz as another Champion. "I'm the indigo Champion," Jewel continued, though the words felt strange and foreign to say. None of this had really set in yet. She wasn't sure if she wanted it to.
"You are getting ready, yes? You will come with me?"
"I..." The pegasus turned to Peri, and to Roux, her old flame. Torn wasn't even the word to describe her feelings. "How much time do we.. When is.. How.." Her senses told her there wasn't much time. A vision entered her mind's eye, seemingly then at her desire to see into the future. She saw herself with Razz, Roux, and others, boarding a ship.
"We have to get to the ship," She said almost flatly. "We're going after something.. do you know what it is?"

Peri's eyes widened slightly at the state Razz stumbled in at. Instantly Peri went to the other stallion's side and tried to lead him towards a spot where he could sit, regardless of his earlier claim to stay standing.
He began to open his mouth to ask what had happened to the other, but nothing managed to pass his lips as it seemed a coversation struck swiftly between Razz and Jewel. As if obediantly, he shut his jaw, and remained quiet of the issue. What else was he to do? This wasn't his battle...where ever Jewel was going, he wasn't coming with her.

(Long story short and dahr that thing called real life, but I have to leave and I won't be back until Wednesday. It might be better if Razz passes the buck to Jewel? I mean to gather the other champs? Otherwise it won't get done... If Jewel gathers the champs, Razz can meet up with them when I get back?)
"A boat," Razz said. He wasn't sure he'd have legs for that. He stomach felt darn right irritable, like he was going to hurl right there all over them and the floor and the chair he was being led to. He sat down. "OK, sure. Why not." It would get him to Kail faster. Even if he was sick, she'd fix him up.
(Now I have to think up some lame excuse to excuse him from the group, lol.)

((Ah, that RL thing lol. Jewel could take over, if Razz can tell her anything about who/where they are. Might give her something to do, and more time with Peri (LNS is moving, so she prolly won't be around for a bit either)) "Yes.. we were all on a ship with..." She hesitated, hoping not to sound too crazy, "With pirates. That's what I saw when I touched the river.." She trailed off, staring at the dirt floor. The pegasus looked over to Peri with eyes that held the little bit of fear she alllowed herself to show.

"I'll make sure to get out my eye patch," Peri off handedly remarked, his voice clearly dripping with sarcasm.
He didn't mean to sound harsh, but the situation didn't leave much to the imagination. The equation was simply sickness+Peri Winkle-Jewel-other champions+boat+pirates=bad things are headen this way. In the face of this knowledge, Peri wasn't exactly taking it well. And there was nothing worse than braving out some form of tragedy without your loved ones right at your side.
The actor tilted his head indicating his eye glancing towards Razz to see how the stallion was doing.

(Oops, I forgot to reply before I left. Doh!)
Razz coughed a little and looked up. Looking at Peri reminded him of cookies and punch. He wasn't sure why. Something else caught his attention.
"Pirates?" he asked himself.

"Pirates?"
"Yes," The pegasus replied, looking puzzled as well. She slowly sat down on the dirt floor, looking at the tiny grains of pebbles pushed into the dirt over time. She pawed gently at the dirt with the toe of a golden hoof.
"We.. the champions.. we were on this big ship, in a storm, with these.. pirates," She grimaced slightly, not liking the idea without knowing the details. "I don't know why we were leaving Ponyville, when the trouble I know of is coming here." She glanced sideways at Peri briefly, "I think we were chasing something... I could try to find out more if.. if you wanted me to"
Jewel openly respect Razz as a previous champion--he had seen things and experienced things that she hadn't dreamed of, blessed with such power. Brave and strong as she was, or as she presented herself, she couldn't help but feel like a rookie in the situation.

"Pirates," Razz mumbled again, looking almost as if he was starting to be encouraged by the idea. "On a ship." Surely he wouldn't get seasick. Not this time. And then he darkened. "Wait, what trouble? Trouble in Ponyville?"
Silverfall had once said, "When it rains, it pours." Razz wasn't at all comforted by the thought that there would be trouble in Ponyville or that he wouldn't be around to help. He couldn't be in two places at once. Could he?

"Wait, what trouble? Trouble in Ponyville?"
"There's going to be a terrible sickness," The pegasus said as she swallowed hard. She wasn't eager to explain to Razz that her vision had resembled some kind of apocalypse. "I believe it's going to affect many, if not all of Ponyville's residents." Jewel shook her head slightly, wanting desperately to clear the disturbing traces of the mental images from her mind. "I don't know what we can do, Razz.." The mare suddenly felt quite guilty about leaving Ponyville and her friends at such an oncoming desperate time.
"I think it's already here."

Razz took a moment, and then another, to consider Jewel's words. Sickness? Here? Now? It couldn't be true. Wouldn't he have seen something in the foals? They were usually the first down when a new bug came through. He felt a squeezing in his chest as he thought of the foals getting sick while he was away.
I can't leave now. What about the kids?
But Razz knew he had to leave. He had to save the rainbow. He told Kail he would bring the Champions. And the others would take care of the foals. They would know what to do.
Razz was looking at Jewel and the distance about her. What if it was as serious as she made it seem? No, how could anything be so bad? It comes and goes. It always does. A little sniffles. Maybe a cough? Fever until it breaks.
Maybe Jewel was wrong? But how could she be? She was gifted with the sight of the rainbow. He considered this. It was the future, surely. If she had seen it, then maybe it wasn't here yet. If he hurried, he might be back in time. The kids would need Kail. He would get her back in time. Yes, that would do. The rainbow was showing them the urgency of their mission.
"We'll have to hurry. We're on a tight schedule now," he said. "The Rainbow of Light is under attack in Dream Valley. That's where we have to go. If we go quickly, we can bring it back here. It can help stop whatever it is you fear." He approached her and put his hoof on her shoulder. "We will make it in time. I know it. The rainbow will help us."
Deep inside, he had to believe.
