Thankfully, Dallas and Tristan lived on the far side of town. Therefore, they were spared the heart ache of the fire.
Entering the house, a rush of cool air greeted the alicorn. The sound of an electric guitar wafted up from the basement stairs. Smiling to herself, Dallas made her way down into the "practice area" her brother had constructed. The unicorn's back was turned to his sister. Leaning against the doorway, bi-colored eyes grinned. He still had it.
A few minutes passed before Tristan noticed his sister, and when he did... he was surprisingly happy. Setting his guitar to the side, he advanced towards the mare.
"How was your first day at the store?"
She smiled. "Perfect. Everything flowed smoothly."
Flopping down on the basement couch not far from Dallas, Tristan smiled. "Can't ask for more than that."
"Oh, but I can. And I'm going to." She closed the space between herself and the couch. Leaning against the armrest, she continued. "You and I are heading back to the old neighborhood. There a few people who would love to know what we've been up to. And besides... I want to tell mom about my store."
There was a look of youth in Dallas' eyes. Staring up at his sister, Tristan almost looked relieved. It had been a long time since he'd last seen the people he grew up with. It'd be a nice trip.
Pushing himself off of the couch, he smiled. "Alright. Let's go..."
Giving a short squeal of excitement, Dallas hugged Tristan before running up the stairs. They'd be back by tomorrow afternoon. Or so he hoped.
