Butterscotch just couldn't say no to those adorable puppy-dog eyes. She ruffled Silence's mane and smiled. "Don't worry about it... we'll make a fort together." She glanced around conspicously, then leaned closer, voice dropping to a whisper. "Then we'll launch a sneak attack on Jol!" The mare giggled, clapping her hooves together. "But don't tell, it's a secret!" Jol was close enough to have heard easily, but that didn't matter to Butterscotch. She scooped snow up, strengthening Silence's fort.

Silence's ears perked up and he grinned from ear to ear when Butterscotch offered to help him. When she told him that the snowball attack was a secret, he shut his mouth tightly and motioned to it with his hoof as if her were locking it up and throwing away the key. He learned that from a cartoon he had seen. He grabed more snow and continued packing it down upon his little fort.

Jol continued working on his fort, keeping one eye on the other two. Wanting to make sure he had it high enough so he'd be able to duck behind the fort with ease, Jol packed some more on top.

Butterscotch laughed at the foal's gesture, then glanced mischieviously at Jol. "The enemy is preparing for war, sir! Soon our mighty fort will stand tall above all others, and we'll surely conquer the foe! ...Or in other words, we're gonna win." She added happily, making sure the top half of the fort was thick and steadfast.

Silence had built the wall high abouve his head, but unfortunatly that was only up a bit past Butterscotch's knees. He slumped down in the snow, panting with exausion. His frontlegs felt like jell-o from all that work. His ears turned towards Butterscotch as she informed him of the enimies preperation for war. He peeked around the side of the wall, making his little head visible to Jol. The stallion was indeed working on some amunition. Silence poked his head back in so that he could not be seen again. He made a few snowballs and placed them in front of Butterscotch and tilted his head, giving her a 'what now?' look.

Having what he deemed a fair number of snowballs made. Behind his fort he was putting the snowballs into piles. One at each end and three in the middle. Pleased with his work, the unicorn sat down. Ears were perked forward listening just in case someone advanced towards him.
Jol was ready. Let them come! He'd do his best in this little game.

Butterscotch gave a half-exasperated grin to herself. The fort she'd built with Silence only protected a bit of her legs, and by the looks of things, there wouldn't be time to fix it. Oh well... seems I'm going to have to make a few brave sacrifices in the name of family fun. Either that or spend a lot of time with my belly on the ground. The tawny-gold mare mare a few snowballs of her own, then addressed the tiny, snow-white foal at her hooves.
"And now comes the fun part... Observe." She straightened up, ears perked forward in true military fashion. A dramatic silence seemed to settle over the yard, until the tension seemed to reak its peak. A small smile crossed Butterscotch's features, and she announced a single word. "Attack!" With that, she happily launched a snowball at Jol. Let the games begin!

Sitting patiently, he waited. The orange horn of his was visible above the top of the fort.
Jol heard the battle cry. A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth as he stood. Bright orange eyes sparkled as he picked up a misshapen snowball.
Purposely he tossed it too high. The unicorn watched as his snowball landed a good ten feet short of even hitting the "enemy's" fort.

Silence smiled and attempted to follow his mom's lead. Unfortunatly, his little limbs didn't come anywhere close to even reaching Jol's snow wall. He quickly abandoned this idea and looked at his wings as they began to flutter and lift him off the ground. He hoped Jol was too preoccupied with his snowballs to notice. He flew on top of the roof of the house and crept to the edge, peering down at unsuspecting Jol bellow. He gathered some snow from the surrounding rooftop and packed them down into golfball-sized snowballs, aimed at the orange stallion bellow and let them fly!

Be careful, kid... Butterscotch warned inwardly. The last thing she needed was for Silence to fall off the roof and kill himself. Still, she was probably just being overprotective--the drifts would be deep enough to cushion him even if the colt fell, and Silence was pretty skilled at flying for a foal his age. Butterscotch shoved her worries aside and kept trying to throw snowballs over the walls of Jol's fort, though her accuracy was as usual, pretty terrible.

For a change the stallion was oblivious to what was going on. As far as he knew, Silence was still behind the fort, helping Butterscotch out. He had no idea that in truth the colt was on the roof of the house getting ready to rain snowballs down upon his head.
Jol tossed a few more snowballs, each time missing the target on purpose. He saw no reason to dampen their high spirits, so he'd play and play nicely for a change.

As golf size snowballs hit him, Jol looked up. A snowball hit him in his face. Another soon followed and hit him in his right eye. Shaking the snow from his face, Jol blinked. Silence was barely visible on the snow-covered roof. A grin slowly appeared on his face as he eyed the colt. Picking up a snowball of his own he tossed towards the roof. While it did hit the roof, it completely missed Silence.

Silence giggled with glee as the snowball missed. He turned around and started kicking snow off the side with his back-hooves like a dog. The snow showered down onto Jol. Then suddenly, he slipped! “W-whoooaaaa!!!” He called out as he fell to the ground.
(ooc: um,,,yea. Could someone please catch him?)

Without a thought to it, Jol winked out. Reappearing underneath Silence he caught the colt. Turning his head around orange eyes surveyed the pegasus.
"You all right kid?"
His once icy heart seemed as though to be melting. But could he forgive and forget? Or would the promise he made be yet fulfilled?

(ooc: hey LNS, Nightshade aka Jon says to get on AIM as soon as posible.) The foal gave a half-hearted semi embarassed smirk, as if to say, 'I'm sorry, don't hurt me. I'll be good now, I promise.' He was well aware that Jol had an ample supply of snowballs and he now had none. He was glad the orange stallion caught him, though, and huged the arm that was holding him up in thanks. He fluttered his wings and flew down to the ground. He now sat in front of Jol with a slightly tilted head with a sort of interested puppy dog expression.
