(Time: Noon-ish.)
The sound of a doorbell ringing caused Blaine to jump up from his spot at the kitchen table. He hadn’t slept at all the night before, and was currently suffering from a caffeine overdose. Ever since Dallas had called saying that she and her brother were moving back in, he had been working non-stop on getting things ready. It was obvious he was ecstatic, he only hoped that they would feel the same way. Though, somehow, he doubted it.
Throwing the door open, Blaine smiled brightly at the vision standing before him. A small smile cracked in the corner of pierced lips. It was the closest to smiling that Tristan had gotten since he awoke from the coma.
“Hey, babe.” The smile softened. “Welcome home.” Leaning against the door, Blaine allowed room for Tristan to enter. Dallas was still out in the driveway removing bags from the car.
Pausing next to the white stallion, Tristan’s bi-colored eyes took on a warmer expression. “Did Dale convince you to stay for awhile?”
Blaine chuckled softly. “Please. Like there was any need to convince me.” With a small jerk of his head, he continued. “Now get your ass inside before you get sick.”
With a snort, the black unicorn nodded. “Yes mom.”
As Tristan wandered into the house, Blaine quietly observed him. Was it just his imagination, or was the stallion lightening up? Don’t kid yourself… Internally sighing, Blaine turned just in time to open the screen door for Dallas.
“Thanks.” Smiling at the white stallion, Dallas entered the house and headed straight for the bedrooms. She had to put their stuff away before she went crazy.
Closing the door, Blaine returned his attention to the black stallion. Quiet steps carried him into the living room. “So how does it feel to be back?”
Tristan merely shrugged a single shoulder. Sitting down on the couch, he looked around. Everything was just as he had remembered it. Except….. “How’s Dash?” Bi-colored eyes met slate-blue ones.
“Ah…” Blaine ran a hoof through his hair. “He’s doing good. Or so I hear… I’ve never met him.”
It felt as though a weight had been lifted off of his chest. Dash was okay. Which meant things had to return to normal soon. Right? Sighing almost inaudibly, he looked back up at Blaine. “Is Donner still around?”
Blaine nodded. “Mmhmm. Nice kid, that one.”
“Yeah.” Tristan nodded. “He seemed like it.”
“Alright, boys. Anyone hungry?” Dallas smiled brightly as she entered the room. Even after everything that had happened, she was still the same charismatic mare.
“Aren’t we always?” Tristan smirked from his spot on the couch.
“Good point.” Chuckling, the two-toned Alicorn proceeded into the kitchen.
Between Blaine’s and Tristan’s quiet laughter, and the scent of Dallas’ cooking, it was almost as if things had never changed…
