Sister TT paced about, angrily tossing his mane. He'd stayed up all night listening for Glitterlilly's return, all to no avail. Since he lived next door to her and her (rather absent and questionably competent) father keeping an eye on the hard-headed little filly was usually do-able. However, he'd messed that up pretty well, now hadn't he? Sister Swirl had reminded him that since the baddies had repeatedly been booted from Ponyville, there wasn't that much trouble for her to get into.
That much.
Sister TT was worried, and on top of that he was feeling useless.
He'd felt useful when he brought in some savings for the Nursery, and he felt useful when he was cooking and caring for others. He felt useful even when he was helping to watch Glitterlilly, a foal that arguably could keep track of herself AND her father (and once even a small group of lost, injured ponies she'd found in the woods somehow) when she had to. Even though he was more used to helping to organize large functions, or stepping in during a large crisis.
But, at this moment, he couldn't stop feeling useless and worried. He didn't even feel like baking.
The phone rang, and in his hurry to pick it up he banged his knee on the table. He didn't give it a thought at the time.
"Hello?"
"Sister TT?"
"Sister RS?" TT felt his stomach turn into a pit, a heavy one.
"Ah, I can tell that you know this isn't a good call. I'm sorry to always be the messenger."
"No, no, you know it's not you..."
"We all feel bad sometimes, dear. Look, we're detecting something in Ponyville, it's growing. Actually, that whole area seems...strange. It could be bad, it could be just us having an off day. You know how it is trying to keep an eye on these things using magic. It's all very...well, you know."
"Right, where do you want me to go? What do you want me to do?"
"Stay in your apartment, do nothing. We'll wink in food for you if you run out."
"What?"
"Better safe then sorry, sugar. Don't leave, don't open the door, stay well."
The phone clicked off, and TT was left with nothing to do but nurse his knee.
That much.
