Set looked out at the dwelling, nodding to Silverfall beside him. She seemed a bit put off having been dragged out into the woods, but that hardly bothered him.
"Tell me about the child," he said.
"I really don't know much," Silverfall said flatly.
"Don't lie to me, girl," he said. "I can sense the power there. I'm certain you can as well."
"I only knew its father."
"Tell me of him, then."
"He was one of the seven. The orange stripe."
"Ah, a charming fellow, then?"
"A bit charming for my taste. Glayse was his name."
"The foal has much of his father in him." Set seemed pleased by this, but Silverfall snorted and stamped.
"And an equal part of his mother," she said defensively.
"Tsk, a torn spirit then. In need of guidance."
"Rose won't allow it. He's just a foal."
"Ah, yes." Set gave her a wicked look. "Maternal instinct and all. Runs deep doesn't it?"
The silver mare took a step backward and flattened her ears but could not offer any retort. She swished her tail.
"My thanks, then, She of Silver. For your service."
"Keep our agreemant," was all she said in response.
Set strode out into the clearing, leaving Silverfall alone in the woods and somewhat torn by the scene. Then she quickly broke away and headed back into town.
