Steady strides carried the white alicorn into the cafe. Looking around, Dallas couldn't help but to feel slightly out of place. It was her first time in Ponyville and she wasn't quite sure of how things worked in this town.
Taking a seat at the counter, bi-colored eyes began to go over the menu. What was the specialty around here?

Drummer walked up to the counter to the new customer sitting there.
"Hi! Welcome to the Cotton Candy Cafe." he greeted her. " Can I get you something?" He smiled at her as he waited for her response.

Shifting her eyes towards Drummer, Dallas gave a bright smile. "Just some coffee, please. Black."
Light green and blue eyes lit up as she remembered something. "And one of those tart thingies sounds nice."
The expression on her face was calm, but her eyes were smiling.

"Alright! Black coffee and a Rainbowberry Tart coming right up!" he answered. He headed back to the kitchen and returned quickly with her order. "You must be new in town. I haven't seen you around before and I've lived here all my life. What brings you to Ponyville?" he asked.

Glancing down at her order, she smiled. "Thanks."
Drummer's question brought her attention back to him. "Just moved here today. I'm staying with my brother."
Another bright smile was flashed. "Name's Dallas." A black tipped hoof was held out in greeting.

"Nice to meet you Dallas. I'm Drummer. Who's your brother?" he asked as he shook her hoof. He knew just about all of the Ponyville residents at least by name if not by their faces. There was something about Dallas that he found interesting. He caught himself staring at her and hoped she hadn't noticed.

Giving what seemed like a sly smile, she nodded. "Likewise."
"Tristan... though it appears that he has become quite the hermit." Raising an eyebrow she took a sip of her coffee.
Dallas never took her eyes off of Drummer. Even so, his staring didn't phase her. Much.

Recognizing the name, he remembered the dark pony that had been in the cafe a day or two ago. "Oh! Tristan, huh? I met him just the other day." he responded, not quite knowing what else to say. A moment of awkward silence passed between them.

"Just the other day, eh?" As she rolled her eyes, a smile appeared. "That child needs to get out more often."
Taking another sip of her coffee, she looked at Drummer once more. "You're probably going to get sick of seeing my face around here."
An ice-blue eye winked.

Drummer laughed. "Oh, I don't think that will happen! After all, we love repeat customers around here!" he said and raised an eyebrow. " You know," he started, " Um... since you're new in town, I..aahhh... I could show you around sometime. You know, if you want." As soon as he said it, he felt like an twit, stumbling over his words like that. She was going to think he was the village idiot!

Yeah, she was going to be a repeat customer.
She couldn't help but to smile at Drummer's offer. "That's sweet. I'd like that."
Dallas was beginning to like this town.

"Yeah? Well, that's great. I think it'll be fun." he said, secretly relieved that she didn't laugh in is face. "There's some great places in Ponyville!"
His eyes sparkled as he spoke to her. He had noticed how different she was from the other phillies in Ponyville. She wasn't pastel, first of all, which seemed exotic to him. Uh-Oh! He was staring again. "Well, you just let me know when you want a grand tour of Ponyville." he said as he pretended to be interested in something behind the counter.

Bi-colored eyes danced across the counter as Drummer spoke. This was a nice place...
She could feel his eyes on her, but it didn't bother her.
"Well..." Looking up at Drummer, she smiled slightly. "When do you get off work?"

Drummer glanced up quickly, happy she had asked.
" I get off in about an hour. Is this afternoon good for you?" he asked, hoping she'd say yes.

She smiled softly and nodded. "Yes, yes it is." Dallas glanced down and realized she hadn't touched her tart. Taking a bite of the baked good, she raised an eyebrow. "This is some good stuff."
