A big smile appeared on Candy's lips. His voice was like honey, smooth and sweet.
"Only forever, " she answered. "I've always been in the kitchen. I just love baking. It seemed only natural for me to open my own place. And, it stays busy here, so ponies must like it!"
She looked around at all the ponies in the cafe and then back at Finnigan. He was humming a tune. "Whatcha humming?" she asked sweetly, flicking her newly pierced ear.

Winter Snow, too, had caught the sound of Finnigan's pleasant humming, and turned slightly as Cotton Candy asked the question, still slowly picking at his cheesecake and chewing each bite with reverence. He was curious too; the other stallion seemed to have quite the musical ear.

Finnigan flushed very slightly. He hadn't meant to zone off like that.
"Forgive me. Sometimes my mind runs away with me and I am left humming to myself." He bowed his head slightly, but looked back up with a bright smile. "I suppose I have created a new piece to work on."
Finn's musical talent had never been something he boasted himself on. Then again... he was never to boast.

"Well, it sounds promising!" said Cotton Candy with a smile that bordered on flirtacious. She realized this and she looked down quickly and pretended to fiddle with something behind the counter. "So, what brings you to Ponyville?" she asked , looking back and forth between the two of them.

"I agree," he said quietly. "It was quite a nice little tune." He tilted his head. "You write music?" he asked.
Flicking an ear in response to Cotton Candy's next question, he realized that he'd momentarily forgotten why he'd come into the city in the first place, and frowned inwardly. He had been so caught up in the bustle around him it had completely slipped his mind. "I came in for groceries, actually," he replied. "I live in the forest, and I have to come to the city from time to time to stock up on provisions." And you're telling her this because...? he wondered, but of course it was too late. He'd already said the words.

"Well, " she smiled warmly at Winter Snow, "I guess I'm just lucky that you were in the right place at the right time for me today. I'd still be bleeding if it weren't for you and your magic touch." She blushed a bit.

A soft smile spread across gentle lips. "I thank you, both."
Turning to Winter Snow, he answered his question. "I do, actually. Ever since I was a colt." His voice was filled with pride, but not in an egotistical manner.
Finnigan didn't comment on Winter Snow's ability. He had already done so a bit earlier, and felt to say more would be a too much.
"I imagine how peaceful it must be in the forest." He nodded once, pale yellow hair falling over his face.

He smiled slightly at Cotton Candy. "Well it was a superficial wound...it would have healed all right on its own...but I'm glad I could help."
He tilted his head back, a little wistfully. "It is quite peaceful," he agreed. "And quite beautiful. But also quite isolated." Which is precisely why I live there, he added mentally.

Cotton Candy thought for a moment.
"Don't you ever get lonely?" she asked, looking at him with genuine concern. " I can't imagine being away from other ponies all the time."
Cotton Candy had always been a very social pony and the thought of being alone all the time didn't sit well with her, personally.
"Ah well, to each his own." she thought to herself.
She looked back at Finnigan. "You never told us what brings you to Ponyville." she said with a curious look in her eye.

Finnigan regarded Winter Snow quietly. He must like his solitude...
Looking up at Cotton Candy, he answered her question. "I've just moved here today. I haven't a place to stay yet, either." He knitted his brows together. "Have either of you know of a place I can stay for the night while I get situated? Perhaps a hotel?"

"Well, I don't know if you'd be interested, but I've got a loft above the cafe that I've been thinking of renting out. " she said casually, as if she wasn't dying for him to take her up on her offer.
"I could take you upstairs and show you." she added.
"If not, there's a Bed & Breakfast just down the street." She said it quietly, almost as an afterthought.

He smiled at her. "Not really," he answered honestly. "Sometimes, maybe. But...I've lived alone for most of my adult life...I'm used to it." And I prefer it, he added silently. As Cotton Candy and Finnigan talked, Snow quietly finished his cheesecake. He had no idea about accomodations in the city, so he wouldn't have been much help. "Well," he said quietly, "I'm afraid I must be going. I need to make that trip to the grocery store, and I should get back to the treehouse before dark." He slid off the stool, bowing to Cotton Candy. "Thank you for the cheesecake," he said. "It was delicious; the best I've ever had. Watch out for those lightposts." Turning to Finnigan, he added, "If you're looking for someone to show you around Ponyville, you might want to try stopping by Dash! Jewelry. Rainbow Dash has lived here all his life and knows the city like the back of his hoof. He's also very friendly and outgoing." Exactly the opposite of me, he thought. He didn't see fit to mention that Dash was his brother; if Dash mentioned it, so be it...but the information wasn't going to come from him. With a last smile and a little wave, Snow turned and headed toward the door. (OOC - Winter Snow's role is on hold until the situation with Courtney is resolved. Oops...wrong account. Well, close enough. ^^)

Finnigan bowed his head. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Winter Snow." He smiled. "I thank you kindly. I will be sure to stop by Dash!."
Once the wintery stallion had left, he returned his attention to Cotton Candy. "That is a kind offer, but I am afraid I can't accept it. It wouldn't feel quite right." He answered honestly. With all of his moving about, the cafe would be unnecessarily noisy. Especially once he began playing music again.
Glancing at the clock, he shook his head. "I must be off." He smiled at the pink mare. "Thank you for everything. I will be sure to stop by sometime soon."

"Goodbye, and thanks again!" she told Snow as he left.
Looking back at Finnigan she spoke, "Well, if you change your mind, just let me know. Thanks for your help today. I'll see you later." she said, a little disappointed.

He could sense her disappointment as he stood. "I'll let you know."
He gave her a genuine smile and headed out.
