Cotton Candy opened the cafe door and ushered in her guests.
"You two can just have a seat at the bar and I'll give you both a menu. Anything you decide on is on the house." She plopped a bubble gum pink menu in front of each of them.

Finnigan stepped to the side, as to allow the passage of his two companions for the time being.
Stepping into the cafe, two-toned eyes took in their surroundings. All of the sounds, smells, and feelings were automatically recorded in the back of his mind. He'd use them for inspiration when it came to writing his next musical piece.
Clearing his mind for the moment, he proceeded to sit at the bar as directed. Glancing down at the menu, he spoke quietly to Winter Snow.
"You're ability to heal humbles me. And I thank you for tending to Miss Candy's needs. That was quite kind of you."
It wasn't until he had finished speaking that he looked at Winter Snow. As quickly as he had glanced in the stallion's direction, he glanced away again.

Snow nodded at Cotton Candy and proceeded to the bar with his oh-so-pink menu, trying to ignore the babble of many voices around him. He felt like crawling into a hole and hiding. So many ponies...
He sat gingerly on the stool and opened the menu, eyes widening. Too many choices!
"Ah...it is at once a gift and a curse," he replied, in the same soft tone. "And I don't use it often...for one such as me, it's not exactly the handiest power to possess. However, I help out when I can." He nodded slowly.

Cotton Candy retreated to the kitchen. She was overwhelmed by what had just happened outside. She had felt very strange when the reserved, but kind Winter Snow had placed his hoof on her head and healed her cut. Amazing, but very strange. She took a deep breath, collected herself and returned to her guests.

"So, boys...have you decided on anything yet?" she asked in a cheery tone, hoping they couldn't sense that she was just a little shaken.

Finnigan nodded. "But of course. With every great gift, comes a curse."
He could sense the stallion's discomfort, but decided it best not to mention it. After all, speaking of something which one does not know, is never a good idea.
Scanning over the menu, he tried to decide on what to order. Once Cotton Candy had returned, he smiled up at her. He'd let Winter Snow order first. Of course.

She could tell they weren't quite ready, so she brought them each a tall glass of water and waited for their orders. She couldn't help but smile at Finnigan. He seemed so sincere.

Snow quickly scanned the menu and his aqua eyes lit upon something he had not had in far too long. Living in a treehouse did have its drawbacks.
He glanced at Finnigan, but saw that apparently the stallion was letting him go first. Very polite, that one, he thought.
"I'll have a piece of strawberry cheesecake, please," he said softly, with a small smile.

Finnigan quietly gave his thanks to Cotton Candy for the glass of water. After Winter Snow had ordered, he gave a kind smile.
Not wanting to waste anyone's time, he politely gave his order. "A vanilla shake, please."
This time he not only smiled softly at Cotton Candy, but also at Winter Snow.

Cotton Candy grabbed the menus and started getting their orders ready.
She cut an extra large slice of cheesecake for Snow and put a few fresh ripe strawberries on the side for good measure.
She then whipped up Finnigan's Vanilla shake and put extra whip creme on top.
"Here you are." she said, placing their orders in front of them, respectively. "I hope you like it.
She watched Snow for a reaction. She knew she made the best Strawberry Cheesecake in all of Ponyville.

Snow smiled his thanks at the mare and delicately picked up his fork and took a small bite. His eyes lit up. "Oh, my," he breathed, after he'd swallowed. "That is simply marvelous." Perhaps it had been the length of time since his last piece of cheesecake, but at the moment, he felt he had never tasted anything finer.

Finnigan smiled appreciatively at Cotton Candy. The shake looked delicious. "Thank you."
Glancing at Winter Snow, he couldn't help but to give a warm smile. Nothing pleased him more than to see others happy. And if something as simple as a piece of cake could do so, then all the better.

The stallion's response was better than Cotton Candy could have hoped for. He really liked it, She could tell! She figured there was more to this pony than met the eye. He came across as cool and distant, but it seemed that there was sweet spirit beneath the surface.
She turned her eyes to Finnigan, who seemed to be a happy to be happy kinda guy. It seemed he was smiling at nothing in particular, but that was fine with Candy. She was that way sometimes too. SHe thought of how smooth and sexy his accent was ans she secretly hoped he would say something again soon...to her.

Some small part of him was pleased that Cotton Candy had noticed his positive reaction. He smiled slightly at Finnigan, then continued to eat his cheesecake, taking small, dainty bites.

Seeing as how no one was speaking, Finnigan sipped at his shake quietly. It was rather good, in his opinion.
Using the straw to stir the shake, he looked up at Cotton Candy. "How long have you been baking for, My Lady? Everyone seems to enjoy your cooking rather well."
Glancing at Winter Snow, he tilted his head. The stallion was quite interesting. His demeanor alone was inspiration enough to write a musical piece on. Speaking of which, it wasn't until now that Finnigan caught himself humming a rather relaxing tune. How long had he been doing so for?
