Tide opened the door to the Cafe wide with a grin and stood holding it for quite some time before the goddess caught up to her. Tide had took off running in her excitement and left the mare behind.
She went to sit at a table near the center of everything, although it would certainly not be condusive for studying. Ordering a shake with the little money she had, Tide looked around at all the ponies in awe. There were so many of them! They were all speaking happily to one another, and Tide Pool couldn't imagine why her mother didn't want her to go out into such friendly places such as this.

As Calliope caught up to her excited student she smiled inwardly but began to keep a calm and strict front. When she noticed that Tide had sat right in the middle of everything she frowned slightly. After her experience with Wysteria though, she didn't want to make the young mare feel uncomfortable around her.
"Right in the middle of everything?" She asked in a stern voice as she shook her head. A smile appeared on her face though to show that she truely didn't mind. The goddess sat opposite to her mage and went to speak just as a waitress came towards them. Kindly she said; "Nothin for me, thanks," and turned back to Tide.
"So..." She began but paused with a ratta-tap of her hoof on the table. She smiled slightly at the little tune she'd made before flicking her mane out of her face with a small toss of her head. "Is there anything you'd like to know... before I start teaching you all the fun stuff to do with magic?" She winked, but her expression clearly stated that it wouldn't be easy work at all.
((Help me Becka! >.< ))

(heh, sorry. Busy couple of weeks.)
Tide really could be studious when she put her mind to it, she just rarely ever put her mind to it. And right now, in the midst of the crowd, she was too excited to put her mind to it.
"Um, I think we should get straight to the magic! My momma always said that I was a magical little thing. She said she swore that I was just a bundle of luck (although she had never mentioned what KIND of luck) and that I had the uncanny ability to make the water come up to meet me." Tide Pool smiled happily as she remembered Haven's Valley, right on the ocean, and the way the waves lapped at her feet when she went running down the beach.
The shake finally arriving, Tide took a long sip on the straw and looked up curiously at her teacher.
(Ok, we are going to go with the power to change the placement of the moon/stars to make things happen. Cause Tides are controlled by the moon and so she can control the moon to make things happen.)

((Becka.... er... how is Calliope meant to teach and increase Tides' powers? Can you please give me an example or something? I'm stumped... =< ))

(You know, we don't even have to RP that part if you don't want to. We can just say some time went by and Tide is learning )

((Lol! It's not that I don't want to, I just don't get how Calliope is supposed to teach Tide... like, shouldn't they head to the beach or something because her powers involve the water and tide?))

(*shrugs* Well, its not just the tide she controls, its the placement of the moon and planets in general. Like astrology. So really anywhere outside is good, and probably nighttime.)
