Gumdrop wandered in the snowy streets, looking for her mummy. "Mummy!" Where was she? She had fallen asleep in the snow. Was she going to wake up? A small 'mew' was heard, and it was coming from underneath the snow somewhere. Gumdrop dug about, and she found a small kitten, strangley purple, close to death.

Kail was flying overhead, trying to find the small pony in the dark. Unfortunately for her Gumdrop was white against a white backdrop, and she couldn't be sure.
"Gumdrop!" she said loudly over the town square.
(you can have Kail find her or no, doesn't matter to me)

She saved the kitty from it's icy death. She noticed that it was shivering terribly. She knew the kitten would die if it stayed out in the cold anymore. Then she realised that mummy wasn't coming back. Her mummy was the same as the kitten. She wrapped the kitten up in her purple scarf and shivered terribly. She cried, her howls echoeing up to the sky, where a green peg would hear them.
(I wonder how the kitty became purple... Heh, I had to make it that colour. ^-^)

Kail had listened to the name she called echo out amoung the buildings before she finally heard the tiny wailes of the little pony. Finally finding a contrast in her hair against the snow, Kail swooped down to land next to the foal and a small bundle wrapped in her scarf.
Kail wrapped her wings around Gumdrop, humming softly as she let the heat of her body spill into the other - her gift could be used for warming as well, as it was just a passing of good energy between two bodies.
"Comon, lets get you back to the nursery - we will have some hot cocoa and bedtime stories ok?"

Gumdrop hid her face behind her long mane. She nodded. Where was she going to live? She couldn't remember where her home was. Mummy had taken her away from it, and it was her who was the only person that could guide her back. The kitten mewed softly, and Gumdrop held her to her shaking chest. It snuggled up to her. Gumdrop stood up, though rather stiffly from the cold, and sniffled. She hugged the kitten tight, and knew that she never was going to let it out of her sight. She cared about it so much... She wondered what she was going to call it.

Kail picked both of them up and put them on her back - she had never really tried flying with a foal on her back, but it would be quicker than walking.
"Hold on" she said and jumped into the air, having to flap her wings more from the added weight, but not tipping to either side. Soon they were back at the nursery.
(continued in nursery)
