(Con. from Rainbow River)
Rose Rebellion held Tsuwari closely to her chest, not just for the sake of supplying extra body warmth, but also because she wasn't exactly sure how the public would take to her foal right away. The small foal was bundled, almost over protectively, with layers upon layers of warm clothing (including a little hoodie with a horn warmer). Rose knew that it probably wasn't ideal to take a newborn out in this weather, and so late at that; however, Rose thought the bright lights might entice him somewhat and be an enjoyable experience to him. The red mare also kept an eye out for Sparkleworks, so that she may return to her the scarf and clothing she'd borrowed from her.
Walking to either side of her was her visiting parents. Roses-are-Red, her mother, was to her right with tiny, yet visible, distance between the two. For the most part, the aged mare was holding back an objection to her grandchild and her daughter to the back of her mind to make her time with them least somewhat enjoyable for the holiday's sake. Shopping with her earlier that day was at least that, and Roses admitted (at least to herself, she dared not openly admit it) that Tsuwari did look stunningly adorable, especially with what they chose for him.
To Rose's left, her father, Violets-are-Blue, was walking with less distance between his daughter. He more so was taking the role of proud grandfather, despite knowing the truth of Tsuwari's origin from Willow. The old stallion merely took in the sights of merriment and beamed proudly. He recognized Kailani, since he'd most likely seen her in Dream Valley, and called out a greeting to her. "Happy Holidays!"

Brigid calmly paced the lengths of her would be room for the night. The design reminded her so much of the days long past, and that she was thankful for. When she'd walked the streets earlier that day she'd felt confused and a bit bewildered at how so much has changed for the rural areas that were towns. It had been overwhelming, and the Inn was a welcome change from the modern world.
Curious as to the commotion and the lights outside her window, the beige goddess calmly moved towards her window. She opened it, and hung her upper body out to get herself a good look of the area. The first thing she had noticed was the gathering of those in the center of the town...as well as the distinctive physic of a stallion who could have only been Set amongst them with the mare she'd seen earlier. It seemed a peculiar event to be happening in the middle of winter in the snow and cold, and so late as well. Brigid would've just closed the window to return to preparing for the night, but the many strings of lights intrigued her. Not because of the abundance of them, but because they were electric, and not like the lanterns or candles so long ago.
"I wonder if our absence has allowed the mortals time for such advancements as this. Surely if we were still reigning that such a thing would not be granted for mortals to have.," she mused aloud. She stared just a little longer at the colorful bulbs, one in particular that was flickering on the verge of going out, when her attention was caught by the snowball fight between both Dark and Kenshin erupted. A small smile grew on her face as it amused her briefly. "Perhaps I am being foolish by accepting the samurai as a charge of my own...but I suppose only time will tell me that. However," a mischievous smile spread across her delicate features, "I suppose a little fun wouldn't hurt."
Although still considerable weakened, Brigid used a tiny bit of her unicorn magic and forced with a gentle breeze to form a large snowball. With a flinging gesture of her head, the ball sailed across the air to splatter on both Dark and Kenshin. She whistled after it had left to make sure the two knew where it came from one it had either hit them or pretty near close to it, followed by a delighted smile.
(ooc: Because of time issues, I don't think Coon Skin can attend this one <_<. I'll see what I can do about Wysteria though.)

Dark's sixth sence kicked in moments before he ducked the snowball, it sailing over his neck to smack Kenshin in the face. "Okay, who did-" He stoped his outburst short as he saw Brigid, even from this distence. A firery orange blush crossed his red face, shortly before he turned to the sound of screaching tires and chain tank treads. Dark turned as well as Ratchet pulled up in a poorly made snowmobile. "Hiya, Dark! Happy holodays!" Dark grinned as the maniac machanic hopped out and high fived the ninja.
"Likewise, Bolt Brain! So, did you bring the stuff I asked?" Ratchet kicked the mobile with one rear hoof, the back popping open with candles and paper overflowing from it. "Just like you asked, Dark. Melted down a few old candles to make these, and ground up old newspapers and the like and mixed in diffrent paints to make what you said. What are you gona do with this stuff, anyway?" Dark smirked as he jumped onto the pile. "You'll see. Hey Kenshin, give me a hand up here, will ya?" Dark then dived into the pile, as Kenshin grinned, now knowing what Dark was ranting about. "Sure thing!"
The combined speed of the duo made it look as if a white and red blur was zipping around the pile. In a few seconds, they stoped, a paper lanturn shaped like a bell hanging on Kenshin's nose. All around them were such lanturns, with smaller bits of paper left over. "Um... Kenshin? That goes on a building, not your shanoz." Kenshin threw a candle at Dark, beaming him right between the eyes. "I'm aware of that, Dark! Now get these things hanged, will ya?" Dark got up and nodded, despite the red mark between his eyes. Zipping off as a white blur, he covered just about every last house and building with the lanturns before returning to Kenshin. "All done! Now work that Sun Magic of yours!"
Kenshin smirked at Dark as he turned to the town. "Let there be flame induced light." Claping his two front hooves togethor, every last lanturn lit up, filling the streets with their colorful light. Ratchet, to say the least, was flaberghasted. "Whoa..." It was the only word he could get out. The oriental duo shook hooves at their work. "Just like home, eh Kenshin?" The samurai nodded happily, his sprits brightened by the light. "Indeed. Good thing that paper is fire proof!" The two admired their work for a while until anyone spoke to them.#nosmileys#nosmileys

Stella noticed Rose's little bundle and trotted over to her. The mare couldn't resist seeing cute little babies. "Awww!"She said forgetting her manners, "It's sooo cute!"
Donner turned and the first thing he saw was a snowball hit Kenshin at full-speed smack on the button. The green stallion thought this was hillarious and he fell to the ground in laughter, pointing at the stranger. Still chuckling he looked over and saw Brigid. He had no idea she was a goddess. "I see someone is in the holiday spirit!" He called out to her between chuckles. The stallions silly antics before him continued to entertain him. Donner loved a good laugh when it was at someone else's expense.

A proud, subtle smile grew on the unicorn's face. She shifted the foal in her forearms in a way so that Stella could look at him better. "His name's Tsuwari," she told Stella in a beaming manor, and then a little lower, mentioned, "It means morning sickness."
Violet gave his wife a confident grin, as he was really starting to revel in the joys of grandparent-dom. He could just see it now... visiting him and bring little gifts for him, telling him ridiculous stories that would fascinate him, of course all this would only work while Tsuwari was young enough to enjoy it. However, Rose Sr. hadn't returned much of a confident look.
"Buck up, Rose," he murmured just to his wife," Rebel here's going to be a wonderful mother, even without a father for him. If I imagine right, Tsuwari will probably be as mischievous as Rebel was when she was young. So I'm sure she'll be able to predict and prevent anything he'll try to get into."
That at least managed a tiny smile from her. "I suppose.," she replied softly, musing over how much their Rose Rebellion put them through when she was a tiny foal. At that point her eyes caught sight of Mainsail, and her tiny trip down memory lane was halted. "Oh dear, Violet," she said a little distressed, "I think that mare's in labor."

Stella looked over the tiny baby with great interest. She seemed very facinated. "That's a beautiful name."She said smiling warmly at Rose,"But why name it something that means morning sickness?" She bit he lip realising she may had entered a touchy subject. "Uh, that is if you don't mind my asking.." The teen murmered nervously.

(OOC: Sorry all! Proboards wasn't telling me there were new messages in this board!)
"Hello! Happy Fest Eve!" Kail called over to Rose's father before excusing herself from Donner and following her words. "Rose!" Kail blinked and smiled - she hadn't seen Rose in so long, but they had gone to school together in DV.
"And who is this?" Kail bent over to see little Tsuwari and suddenly backed up and put a hand to her mouth. That was the same feeling she got around the Dark Ponies. "Excuse me, I think I had some bad punch."
Kail backed away before turning and walking to the edge of the party to get some air. Absentmindedly her hand went to her second symbol as her stomach began to settle.

A hoof the color of the snow it was stepping in made a tentative forward movement and Aloha Pearl shivered as the strange stuff covered her hoof. She marvelled at the lights as she walked through the town, shifting her gaze from red to blue to green. The lights glittered off her white skin and colorful hair and she almost liked this festival of cold.
They didn't have a Festival of Lights in Jadus, although Pearl had heard of the Great Pone and her fight with the Shadoh. But they didn't celebrate it like this, and perhaps it was because of the lack of snow. Light just didn't glint off sand the way it did off snow and it made her smile to herself.
*****
Tide trotted happily down the streets on the other side of Ponyville. It was so nice here - no sea-effect storms, no grey ocean trying to rip at the houses on the coast, no winds strong enough to blow you down the street. Just soft snow and light winds - like heaven.
Getting a little ahead of herself, Tide did a flip and then started to gallop ahead until a word from her mother stopped her. She trotted back, ears back on her head. "Sorry," she said timidly and her mother smiled warmly at her and gave her a hug. It was ok, she just wanted Tide to be safe.
Tide smiled brightly and made sure to not get too far from her mother as they trotted into the center of town and the main festivities.

"Well," Rose tried to form a very simple reply to Stella," When I was pregnant with him, I went through a lot of morning sickness. It just seemed like a good nickname, and when he was born it some how stuck to him." She gave him a soft nuzzle.
"Kail, Happy Fest Eve!," Rose returned the greeting as she'd recognize the peg coming to her. It'd been a while since she'd seen Kail, since school, and well...the battle. Rose gulped down a heavy feeling of sorrow. The red unicorn tried not to think about it.
Just as Rose was about to explain the happy tiding she had along with her, Kail had presented her sudden change of presentation, and was given a brief mumble about bad punch and had left quite abruptly. The mare might have just believed Kail's excuse, if she hadn't so suddenly backed away in the manor she had. Only one explanation could form in her mind, Kail just knew something was terribly amiss about her foal. The very thought made Rose tense up, and her unremarkably red face went slightly pale. I knew I couldn't hide it forever...I-I just wasn't expecting this so soon.
Sensing his daughter's fear, and since Willow had explained to him the truth of Tsuwari's 'blood line', Violet stepped closer to her in a protective manor. "Nothing will happen to him, or you," he whispered just in her ear in a reassuring gesture.
"Oh dear," Rose Sr. interrupted, "I hope that punch won't be too rough on her stomach. Maybe someone should check to see if she's all right--" "Wonderful idea, mother," Rose sputtered out, "I'll go."
What ever it was, Rose had to speak with Kail. Kail was a chosen, and if the Rainbow had chosen her, than she had to have some form of compassion in her that Rose hoped to appeal to. Gently, she placed the responsibility of Tsuwari in her father's hooves. Rose didn't know if Tsuwari had caused any real feelings of sickness in the other, but she'd felt better keeping him away from Kail, at least for the moment. She took just two steps before turning around and giving Tsuwari one last comforting touch," Mommy will be back in a minute. Be nice for Grandpa and Grandma."
It broke her heart to be separated for even just a few minutes, but the unicorn pushed herself to do it. After spotting where Kail had gone, Rose approached her slowly and as calmly as she could. "Kail...? You all right...?," she asked hesitantly.

Stella looked up at Rose with a raised brow. "I understand." She said suspecting there was more to the foal's story, but accepted that it would not be told to her.
Kail started acting very strangly and she wondered what was wrong. She wanted to go over to her, but Rose had rushed passed her and looked very concerned. Stella tilted her head in confusion as she looked at the two for a seccond, but then decided (depending on the seriousness that both mares displaied) that she should not interrupt them. Stella hated feeling out of the loop, but she also knew that whatever was going on was none of her buisiness and turned her attention to the other ponies that were just arriving. "Happy Fest Eve!" She called out to Aloha Pearl and Tide. Donner's greeting soon followed her's.
Donner was a master at easdroping and although he didn't show any signs of attentin towards the seagreen pony he had met earlier, he still kept one ear turned towards her direction. He had a hunch something was wrong with her, as much as he tried to ignore her.

Tyr moved cautiously through the snow. Having no sense of footing on one leg made for precarious winter walking. He looked around and noted how little...warmth electric lights put off. What was wrong with lanterns? Nothing could replace a good, honest flame.
The old Northern god shook his head slightly and eyed the festivities from a slight distance.
Autumn Skye bounded in, greeting everyone with a cheery "Merry Fest Eve!". She had a basket clung over her shoulder, holding seveal ottles of hot apple cider. "Anyone want some?" She held one aloft.
A hastily bundled up Shadoweaver skittered over to Kail. Flutters did not usually fare well in the cold. "Happy Fest Eve, Kail! I escaped from my strange, god-attracting Inn for a bit. What do you think is happened at Dream Valley now...?" she asked wistfully. "It's not the same, here. Nice, but not the same."
Dragonrose--bundled up even more than her daughter--stood just behind her. She sighed at the question, wondering herself. I wish Quicksilver was here.

Dark and Kenshin, with Ratchet's help, were going around town to make sure every last paper lanturn they had made was still lit. "That's just the only trouble about these Dark; They can go out without any care." Ratchet was just happy to be helping out his two new best friends in careing for something they held so dearly in their hearts.
Dark nodded as he threw a flaming wooden dart through a whole line of lanturns, rekindling their flames as the dart landed in the snow a few feet from Tyr, going out in a instant. "I know what you mean, Kenshin. At least we are keeping them burning bright. So what are your plans, Ratchet?"
The metalic unicorn turned to Dark as he somehow keep driveing safely, even though his eyes were off the road. "Not too much, really; Just hanging with you guys is more than enough for me to have a happy season! After all, nobody visits me at the Junkyard at all. Save you, Dark."#nosmileys

A few deep breaths later and Kail's stomach had stopped acting up. Her eyes were closed when she heard Rose, and she opened them and turned with a weak smile.
"Yes, Im fine, its just this stomach problem I've been having since my last trip to Course. It comes on rather unexpectedly." She didn't bother adding that it came on only when she was near the Rainbow of Darkness, because it had attacked her right in that same spot a half a year ago, but Rose didn't need to know that, and Kail wasn't sure she wanted to know who the father of her child was at this point. "Really, I will be fine, I just needed some fresh air."
Rose looked concerned, so she added, "your son is beautiful. Quite the little hellion I can imagine. When he's old enough you should bring him by the nursery - I think him and little Explosion would get along wonderfully." She tried to show a brighter smile, but was inwardly happy that Rose's son probably wouldn't be old enough to play with Sherbet for a while at least.
Kail was happy for the interuption by Shadoweaver, and turned with a slightly brighter smile. "Happy Fest Eve! I imagine the castle was just lit up, and everyone is 'oooh'ing and 'ahhh'ing and chatting and being friendly." She looked away into the lights for a moment with a warm smile. "I hope they are having a wonderful time."
"Oh! Shadoweaver, do you know Rose Rebellion?" Kail didn't want the red uni to feel left out of the discussion. "She moved to Ponyville from Dream Valley also."
*******
"Happy Fest Eve!" Tide bounded up the sidewalk and into the crowd, her mother getting visibly nervous as her daughter started to mingle. The blue uni bounced over to Autumn Skye for some cider and tugged on her mother's foreleg to follow. Tide was so excited to be in such a big town, with so many people, and such a great festival, and and and.... it was almost exhausting.
Gaerlom was exhausted.

Stomach problems since a trip to Course? The explanation made sense, although it had strung another wave of slight concern. Perhaps I was just over reacting... "That doesn't sound all that great.," she added to her in response, "Is it a bug or something? Have you had a doctor check it out? If you haven't, I know Willow is really good with medicine, maybe she'd be able to help you with it."
Rose turned her attention to the approaching Shadoweaver. The TAS unicorn put on a smile and shoved her worries momentarily to the side. "So you run the inn!," Rose stated, "It's beautiful, but I've only seen the outside."
----
Brigid's lips turned up in a delighted way upon hearing Autumn Skye's calls for hot cider. "At least that is something that hasn't changed. I cannot remember the last time I had a warm glass of cider.," she said to herself, still hanging outside the Inn's window. However, that determined it, sleep could wait. How often did she have to get a hot cider? Not very.
It only took minutes to leave the Inn and reach the gathering. Now she could marvel at the strung lights even more since she was so close to them. They were almost distracting, and the goddess might've forgotten the cider if she hadn't caught a wisp of Skye's golden colored tail. "Oh," she paused trying to word how to address the mare. Half giving into politeness, she continued with a 'miss' instead of 'young mare'. "Miss, do you still have some of the cider?"
