Triple Treat happily bent his body into the storm, torn between wanting to block all the rain and wind from hitting Kail, and knowing full well he had no idea where he was going. He watched the wind pull on Kail's wings, and wondered if that made it more difficult for her.
"It's invigorating, like a really good dance!"
He trotted a quick 4 step, dancing in front of Kail and bowing slightly.
The wind and rain had plastered his hair close to his body, and there was a leaf stuck to his nose. He had to shout to be heard. "May I have this dance?"
He had no idea if he was being too silly for her or not, but she looked like she would be fun to dance with. Besides, he wanted to do something to make sure this was a nice walk in the rain, not a hard time of plowing through a storm.

Truth be told, since Kail had lived her whole life (and many storms) with wings she didn't find it any harder to walk through the storm. Flying through would have been tough, but she could have made it. Being a peg, she was an expert at making tiny adjustments in how she held herself and moved to account for the wind. She tucked her wings in tighter and bent her head against the storm.
She lifted her head again as she heard Treat say something and felt the change in wind as he moved away. She laughed at his little jig and the leaf on his nose. She had declined his hairtie earlier - she had already walked through the storm once and only a hot shower was going to help her hair now. As it was, her hair was being pulled back in the wind, flying out behind her as if she was actually soaring through the air at high speeds.
"May I have this dance?"
Kail gave a little curtsy, her hair falling in her face and sticking there with the rain. She pushed it back again as she stood up, smiling. "As soon as you clean yourself up!" she yelled through the wind and grabbed the leaf from his nose. The leaf was ripped from her hoof as soon as she removed it and she shrugged, putting a hoof on his shoulder and holding the other up for him to take. They could dance their way to the Cafe.

Treat gladly took her hoof, and rested the other just under one of her wings. Her wing felt surprisingly soft even when wet, and Triple Treat suddenly felt a little bashful. It passed, but not before another grin crossed his lips.
"If I go the wrong direction just take the lead!" He shouted over the wailing wind.
Just pretend you're dancing to very obscure modern music he thought to himself. A branch crashed, reminding him of a drum.
And then he began to dance a quick merengue, whirling Kail about whenever the wind allowed it. Then he switched to a waltz, spinning around and around down the path.

Kail had to admit, she wasn't a very good dancer. On the air sure, but once there was ground in the way of your hooves it became that much more difficult, and she found herself stumbling around quite a bit at first.
Tripping into his feet once she threw her wings out to catch her balance and started to laugh. "I'm sorry," she said over the storm, "I'm not much of a land dancer!" She looked around and noticed they were headed in the wrong dirrection. "That way!" she pointed towards the well-lit Cafe.
(hehe, they are never going to get there)

"That's ok!" Treat laughed back "I've never been much for water ballet! Towards the light we go!"
And he picked up the pace, practically skipping towards the Cafe. He didn't look like he should be light on his feet, since there was rather a lot of weight for gravity to tug on, but he was surprisingly agile. Though he did slip once or twice on the wet path, it caused peals of laughter rather then concern.

Kail couldn't stop laughing even though she was soaking wet and a little chilly. She hadn't had so much fun since... since the syrup fight with Razzaroo last winter.
When they reached the Cafe and stopped she reluctantly let go. Truth be told, she would have liked to dance around town all night. But she had to thank Swirl, and tell Razz the good news.
"Well then, here we are."
