The answer to the question "how do we get our character names one below the other in system V4?" is:
"You Can't"
Appearantly, the fact that we could do that at all was a glitch with the old system, a "bug". We were never supposed to be able to do it at all, so now we can't. Which makes no sense really, but that's how it works.
So if you want your characters one below another on the side, do what Angel did and put a bunch of stars and symbols on either side until they are just the right length to bump the next name
