Rose giggled as his excitement brought a little splash in her direction. "Yes, where the Smooze was," she said, feeding the excitement in his big eyes, "You mom was only a little foal when it came, just like you." She began to rinse the goop from his small horn.

"Mama, did you get Smoozed?" He asked curiously. "Did you know Firefly? I heard she was a great flyer, the best there ever was'd! She could fly like shoom!" Tsuwari stuck out his front legs, pretending to fly in place, "and voom! And whoosh! What about flutter ponies? My friend said they were just real big mosquitoes..." His string of questions went on.

"Mosquitoes?," Rose questioned him in a joking manor, "I always thought they were like big bees! They love flowers, absolutely love them. When the flutters got rid of the Smooze, and cleaned off those smoozed, one of them got really close to me. She was attracted to my rose petals." She refered to her body.
"Yes, I was smoozed...it wasn't fun either. I thought it looked like grap jam and got hungry...ended up with it all over my face. Just like your syrup," she added to lighten the tale, " I didn't personally know Firefly, but I'd seen her around. She's just as amazing as everything you've heard of her."

"Whoa..." Tsuwari gazed at his mother with admiration. "Grape jelly? Eww!" He stuck out his tongue. "So when we go there, can we see Firefly? And the ugly green unicorn too, with the gold horseshoes?"

"Now Tsuwari, that isn't nice to say! If you don't think some one is pretty, you don't say it out loud," she soflty scolded, "It's all right to think those things because everybody does, but you shouldn't say them out loud."
"I'm not sure when we can go to Dream Valley. I'd have to call your grandparents up and scheduel some time off work. But I can't say we can see Firefly, or Mimic. They are busy ponies too, and might not have time. But I'm sure you can see Sugarberry and Munchy." She offered perhaps something else she could at least promice him. Although she dared not say Yum Yum...that pegasus would just load him down with candy and other sweets. And a hyper Tsuwari was one not to be reckoned with.

"Okay, Okaaay.." Tsuwari responded exasperatedly. "But I'm still thinking it."
Tsuwari soon went back to his deep-sea games, and managed to occupy himself for quite some time as the syrup loosened from his coat.
"...and then Sea Spray said 'Go away, you monster, or I'll get the big orange pony to get you!' Whoosh!"

It's all right to think it."
Go away, you monster, or I'll get the big orange pony to get you!
Rose paused, slightly alarmed at what she'd just heard, but continued to gently rinse Tsuwari off. "Tsuwari," Rose said as kind and hopefully as unsuspicious as she possibly could, "Whose the big orange pony?"

Although Rose may have hoped Tsuwari was talking about himself, he wasn't.
"I dont know," He said innocently, "I had a dream about him last night. He's big and.. orange, and he kind of glows. He had orange eyes just like mine too!" Tsuwari opened his eyes wide to prove his point, though besides that, he really didn't have an interest in the topic. Having given his mother an explanation, the foal continued on with his games without another thought.
"'I'm going to send you to Tambelon, you monster!'"

Rose's cheeks palled, if that were even possible. Glayse...that sneaky...
The red unicorn rinsed the last remains of the syrup from her foal's face and coat. Although having felt like a tiny blow was given to her at news of Glayse, she pushed it aside and gave Tsuwari an affectionate rubbing of his mane.
"All right, little man. Time to get you dried off."

Tsuawari climbed out of the tub, and stood with his legs braced as he shook himself like a dog would. Once dry, or what Tsuwari considered dry, the little foal bounded downstairs excitedly.

"Slow down, Tsuwari!," Rose called after him, "You don't want to trip!" She shook her head, knowing that he probably would not heed her warning anyway.
After pulling the plug to the tub and quickly placing the bathroom back in order, Rose followed after the foal downstairs. She tried to run off the tasks in her head for the day. I know I at least need to get those bulbs in for the shop...I know I'm forgetting something! Dang it!
Rose chewed on the side of her cheek as she rattled her brain over the issue. However, the mentioning of a certain orange stallion was not helping the matter at hand either. It just wasn't sitting well with Rose, and it was conflicting with focusing on her current task.
"I just have to keep busy," she instructed herself, dropping her mental conflict altogether. The unicorn grabbed her house keys and called for Tsuwari that they were leaving.

Tsuwari pranced through the front door and outside. "Come on, Mama!" He said excitedly, already down the path to their house. He called back again, knowing he wasn't supposed to leave the yard area, "Mama you're slooooow! Come on!"

"Tsuwari! You come here right this instant!," Rose called back to him, her tone of voice loud, stern, and determined. Her eyes narrowed down in the evil stare that mothers seemed to have, and demanded with her look that he had best do what she said. If spanking hadn't been ruled as a means of child abuse, I'd swear he'd have a sore rump... much like I did. Now that old wooden paddle's collecting dust.
All the red unicorn could picture with Tsuwari so far out of the yard was him falling and drowning in the river. Or heading deep in the woods were wolves were, or he could come across a bear. Rose shuddered at the many ways Tsuwari could get himself killed around in the outer edges.
If I would've known I'd have a foal so soon, I wouldn't have moved into Outer Edges and into an apartment instead. Of course, then there were all the worries she'd have about Tsuwari falling out of a building five stories up. Oh well, no matter where you go or are living, there's still ways for him to get hurt.
The unicorn locked up her house, and made a quick round to her gardening shed, which was really an old cleaned out house. It didn't stink, thankfully, but its weathered wooden boards were charming and added to the house's personality. Inside was the sack of bulbs she had to deliver, which was picked up easily with the swipe of her hoof.
Now ready to go, however still unready mentally at the hazards Tsuwari would no doubt cause, Rose lead the way leaving the yard. Just as she passed the edge of her property, she caught sight of a wilting rose bush, more likely due to the heat. She made a mental note to give it some attention later.
