Spooky waded in partway and leafed through the rescued book.
"Thanks...oooh...everything's fine. It really is waterproof. Huzzah!"
She looked up at Cascade, then her eyes grew round as she realized she was thiiiiis close to a sort of pony she'd never met before. She looked like a magical deepsea princess, Spooky thought. What was she doing here in Ponyville? Hopefully not trying to revive any deeply dreaming dead but still relatively ok evil spirits or anything. Rainbow knows there seemed to be enough of those shenanigans going on lately.
"....new in town?"

Cascade stared into her face, her eyes as round as Spooky´s. She had not been so close to a pony ever. "...yeah. I have lived on the bottom of the sea all my life, along with other merponies and seaponies. But a few days ago, I dared to take myself up to the surface." Cascade looked at something behind Spooky, far away. "Your race has got a town there, don´t you?" She nodded towards the distance buildings. "Too bad I won´t be able to visit." Cascade glanced back, at her blue-scaled fin.

"Oh! Bin...someone I know used to swim to town in the sewers. I don't know if that would be fun or not." Spooky frowned. It didn't seem fair...if she wanted to go underwater she could wear a big suit and battle giant squids and stuff, but what was an aquatic pony to do?

Cascade frowned. Sewers? "Well ... perhaps I can figure out something." She gave a wink.

Spooky grinned and splashed around a bit.
"It's really nice to see you, and thanks for the help." She sat down near the bank but still in the water, small currents swirled around her and minnows started seeing of her tail contained anything useful. Spookytale was totally oblivious to any discomfort or...water. "I'm glad you came up. Are you looking for anything?"

"No, not really..." Cascade smiled. "I am just looking around. I am glad that I could help you."

Spooky stood up, dripping mud and water and startling several innocent fish as she did so.
"I probably should continue on. I feel like there's something important going on, but I can't remember what."
She started to trot away then stopped and turned, "I'm glad we met. I hope we see each other again."

"See you ..." the merpony called after her, with her echoing voice, and the very next moment she was gone.

Spooky blinked. That was cool...
Then she paused and thought. Did she have to edit her story? Buy muffins? Bite weebly winkets? She tapped her foot thunkily. Thunk. Thunk. Thunk.
She should probably write her Mummy a thank you note for lending her money for that store. Oh, wait...wait....the store. Oh yeah. How surreal.
A store.
I am the worst pony in the world to own a store... Spooky sighed, then realized that she wasn't technically running it. Tabs was. Too bad I have the keys. Oh no wait.
Spooky dashed off to town.

Hours later Cascade returned o the same spot by the river. She brought some seaweed and falled asleep on the rivershore.
