[[cont. from the Nursery]]
In a flurry of sparkling stars, Twilight appeared on the riverbank. It was not exactly the spot she had planned for, but she thought it would be good enough. She glanced back towards the house she could see close by. There seemed to be some sort of situation going on at the door where there was a foal and a mother standing by the stairs. Twilight cared not look any closer. Instead, she gazed across the Rainbow River, enjoying the view. With a deep sigh she wondered why had not anyone thought of asking her something like that - a beautiful sparkling river full of colour and joy? Why was it always "give me this, give me that". She sighed, shook her head and began to walk along the edge of the water towards her own cottage some ways farther.
Twilight smiled dreamily. She wondered what it would be like with a foal in the house? Oh, how she longed for a real family. With a sad sigh she thought she would probably have to settle for an adopted foal. Not that it mattered so much. Twilight loved foals. She loved each and every foal without exceptions, and she certainly did not care if the foal was her own or born out of another mare.
Though still, it would have been wonderful to have a family. A nice stallion to be a father for the foals. She wondered guiltily if it was right of her to even consider adopting, when she didn't have a husband. Would it be wrong for the poor foal, to grow up without a father like that?
She sighed. Sometimes she wished she could make a wish just for herself.
