Dark felt the rush of energy fill him, and found the power to stand. "You know... I've finnaly figured you out, Umbra. Leave it to Karma's wonderful intelegence to help me figure out things I never can!" Umbra seemed only slightly amused by Karma's aid. He wouldn't dare attack her; Just like Dark, he cared about her. "So if you are so enlightened, Dark, then what is it that you seem so sure about?" Dark smirked, catching Umbra a little bit off guard. "I can never hope to defeat you. Fighting you is fighting myself, so even if I won, I would kill meself."
Umbra snarled. Dark had found him out. He was planing to allow Dark, with his pent up rage,to kill him. In turn, Dark would have killed himself. But now his plan had gone down the drain; BIG time. "d**n it... If it wern't for the fact of me being a half of you, Dark, I would have stopped Karma from interfering. Too bad I also have half of your love for her..." Dark started to smile. "Yea, she's just perfect like that. Speaking of which..." Dark glaned to Karma out of the corner of his eye. "Thanks for the boost. Say, did you ever learn while learning how to control auras, did you ever learn anything about bonding oneself's own auras of good and evil?"

Deep in Karma's subconcious she could hear them speaking, and even addressing her, and she quickly pulled back her aura from Dark, the glow surging up her foreleg and surrounding her before finally her eyes fluttered open.
She looked from the one aura to the other, only half sure of herself which was which, till she saw the signature of the rainbow on the one. Rubbing slowly at her head with a hoof, she ran back through what Dark had said to her about the good and evil auras.
"You mean, put you back together?" She could do that yes, put the auras together and bind them that way, but whether the bodies followed or not she couldn't know.

"Yea, something like that. I need you to walk me through it; Otherwise, Soul Edge may atempt to devor your soul. And that is the last thing I want... You have a husband and daughter waiting for you..." Dark sounded hurt as he said that, but he knew that was how it was. Umbra seemed to notice the plan. Much as Soul Edge shook with hellish rage in his grip, Umbra knew the same feeling Dark was suffering; He wasn't whole.
Umbra closed his eyes in thought. He was Dark, plain and simple; A part of him, but half of a whole. "Very well. Karma, tell us how to rejoin each other. I'm done being the slave of some piece of rusted junk called a sword." Soul Edge's rage exploded outwards as it started glowing red with anger. It would have attacked Karma; If it wasn't for the talisman of sealing he planted on it. Stabing the Sword of Souls into the ground, and waited. Dark, on the other hand, smirked. Even his own evil half was victem to his code of honor.

"Well, I uh, have never done it before. So Im not quite sure it will work." She paused for a moment, "my best advice it to just go with what you feel, and it will feel weird, trust me."
Karma stood up fully and made the clapping motion again to strengthen her aura. With the vibrant colors swirling around her, she walk forward towards the two and closed her eyes. She could always see better with them closed anyways. She let her aura drain out from both hoofs just enough to grab onto both the others, and started to mesh them together, starting at the bottom and working up. Matching colors twined easier than the others, and when she was finished she bound them that way, so they could not seperate again.
Afraid to open her eyes she flinched, "are you ok?"

A white hoof grabed Soul Edge's hilt, the blade rendered harmless by the talisman. In moments, the blade was swept up in a rush of silvery blues and blacks, the blade vanishing. With the Sword of Souls yet again banished, The Rainbow of the Moon drifted down before the pony.
*You have done well, Moon Child. You have triumped over yourself, and counquered your inner demons. Let us be one once more.* In a flash of light, the Rainbow vanished as the sky returned to a sun lit afternoon. Smileing, Dark turned to Karma. "Thanks for your help, Karma."

Karma first opened one eye, then the second, and seeing only one aura, and no sign of more than one pony, smiled. She shrugged off the thanks, "it wasn't so hard really - I've had worse."
After that she didn't know what to say, and there was an uncomfortable silence. "So, uh, I guess I should go find the others," she said and glanced toward the direction they had gone off in, but didn't move.

Dark stood there in silence, the wind causeing his mane and tail apper to be made of fire. Every so often, the Rainbow within him appered in faint flashes. Closeing his eyes, Dark sighed. "Karma... I regret what happened to me...If it didn't happen when it did, that might have been my daughter. Or even more importent, my son on your back. Words will never express my saddness in full to you, Karma. Once more, I must hopefuly find a lady almost or just as perfect of you. Otherwise, I will never have an heir to my Clan's ways."
Dark lowered his head as he opened his eyes, far too full of sorrow and shame to look at her. His voice also told of his broken pride. "The heaviest blow, Karma, was that I broke my word to stay with you always. As such, I have broken my Code of Honor, a thing myself and Clan take with our very lives to ensure it is kept. But since I have violated it, I am no better than the evil that controled Piston. Forgive me for the shame and dishonor I hve stained apon you and your family." If anything was clear, it was that Dark's own pride and personal view of himself had been ground into dust, if even that.

Karma turned back to Dark as he spoke, but waited until he was finished before speaking herself. "Well, I suppose it turned out the way it was supposed to - I owed Koalypso a foal anyways." She wouldn't go deeper into it than that, but didn't look at him as she said it.
"And you did not break your promise to me - dying was not your choice. Like at weddings, when they say 'til death do you part' - we only parted because of your death. Granted I didn't know you were dead, but that doesn't make things different. Promises dont last beyond the grave." She couldn't think of anything more to say, so instead she tweaked his aura a bit, letting a loved feeling wash over him.

Dark sighed as he looked at Karma. "You know something? You really are too perfect to be anything but made by the Rainbow of Light." He chuckled a little. "Too bad that will make it all the harder for me to find another." Just then, The Rainbow of the moon appered in full around the duo, as if trying to tell them to try once more. Dark, of coruse, wanted to do just that; But he was the past. Karma's child was her future.
Just then, if only to get a reaction, the Rainbow wispered something to Dark, makeing the ninja get a shocked look. "YOU WANT TO TO TRY HITTING ON KAIL?!!! ARE YOU CARZY?!!!" If the Rainbow was trying to get something, it was an elbow to Dark's ribs.

(OOC: Your going for Kail now? Dont you think she is a little young for you? ) Karma blushed - she still hadn't gotten rid of that habit in all her 30 or so years (hehe, just realized I've been playing her pretty much the same age I always have, and its about 18 years later!). She couldn't say anything though, any comment was liable to get her in trouble, and she was afraid that already Dark's presence would get her in trouble with Koal. Speaking barely above a whisper, and looking at the ground, Karma replied with a safe choice of words. "Im sorry Dark, I really must get back to my family now." She still wouldn't turn and walk away though, she couldn't make herself do it.

Dark nodded. He knew that living in the past would make him grow weak. And to do that would be a far worse fate than dishonnor. "I understand fully, Karma. You have a worried husband and a wonderful daughter who needs her mother. If there is any task that I want to do for you, please allow me the honnor to return you to your loved ones. At that point, I must resume my training."
Dark nodded, his heart once more sealed in it's shield of ice. "If anything, I shall treasure our past." Nodding, Dark let one final tear fall from his eye; The last tear he would shed for many days to come.

"I will too," Karma said to herself, not even sure if he could hear her. She walked quietly by his side until they were within view of the rest of the Family, then turned and gave him a sad smile before trotting off to join her family, her daughter immediatly running akwardly to her with a large smile.
Karma chanced one last glance back at Dark before turning her full attention to her daughter and Koal.

Dark closed his eyes, and boldly turned the other way, walking in the opposite direction. As he left, the Rainbow of the Moon swiftly followed him. He had become a Guardian; Untill he pass the role to his next of blood, he would be fused with the powerful creature forever. Carryed on the winds, Dark uttered his final words to the past.
"The last thing you'll ever see of this Lunar Warrior is my shadow."
As he left the field, the Moon Rose bloomed into a field, covering the hill in their diffrent colors. And sitting among them sat a locket, slamed into stone, showing a picture of Dark and Karma together as they were in the past, with a message carved into the stone below it.
*May those days of joyful youth and love never die from our memorys, but remain forever young in our hearts.*
The End.
