A black stallion sat on the Solsbury Hill and scattered around bits of bread and other treats for the birds that surrounded him. He noticed a tiny bird with a mangled wing that was missing out on the food. The stallion took pity on the bird, and rustled his own mangled wings. He knew the pain that the bird was feeling.
Zero reached down and picked up the small bird in his hoof. The bird did not flee; It sang happily as Zero held him. Zero placed a bit of food on his hoof in front of the bird.
The bird picked at it until there was nothing left. Zero held his other hoof over the bird and it started to glow silver. It's wings began to regenerate. As the glowing stopped, the bird flapped it's new wings happily.
Thankyou...
"You're welcome." Zero said quietly to the bird. "Fly away, now." He lifted his hoof to point to the sky and the bird took flight. The stallion rustled his wings painfully again, wishing he could do the same to them.

((sorry to interrupt, but I just wanted to see what Zero is like ^-^ it might help with drawing him.))
From a distance, a black alicorn with hair the colours of the rainbow, watched curiously as Zero healed the wing of the little bird. Dream Chaser considered the wings of the black stallion; they seemed distorted and odd and most likely gave the other difficulty with flying... that is if the other was still capable of flight.
Dreamer shuddered and tucked his black wings close to his body, as though afraid that someone would come along and rip them away from him; he loved the freedom of flight intensely. If someone was to take that freedom from him, he'd rather die first than be bound to the earth for the rest of his life.
He couldn't help but feel pity for the other, but he wondered: if the stallion was able to heal the wing of a bird, could he do the same with his own?
Ruffling his feathers, Dreamer approached the other slowly and quietly so he did not startle the birds who shared the sky with him and the other winged beings.
"Hello." Dream Chaser said to the other.
((didn't know what else he could say, but Hello would do for now I guess...))

[Fine with me, coz Dreamer is soooo pretty... *strokes his rainbow hair* hehehe... ] "Hello." Zero lifted his head and found a stunningly decorated stallion standing in front of him. He smiled as several of the birds he had been feeding perched on Dreamer's back. "Hello." He replied, as he returned to feeding the birds. "What brings you out here today?" He asked Dreamer.

((lol ;D is this the jump by the way?))
Dreamer smiled pleasantly at the birds landed on this back. One, close to his mane, reached out and nibbled a strand of indigo.
"What brings you out here today?"
"I'm not sure." Dreamer said with a puzzled look on his face. "My hooves must of just led me here. Not only that, but its a nice day today."
Compared to the fighting before... He thought to himself.
Dreamer smiled. "By the way, my name is Dream Chaser. I take it that you are new to these parts; I haven't seen you before."

[Okay, so we're jumped!]
"Yes..." Zero said distantly, as he watched two of the birds flutter about each other, before taking a perch on his shoulder, where the continued to jump about each other.
He turned back to the stallion. "Hello Dreamer." He said, smiling up at him from where he was sitting. "My name's Zero, and no, I haven't been around here for very long."
He picked up one of the birds and stroked it lovingly. "But I have been here been here before. That was years ago though..." He said, remembering the last time he had sat on this hill. He smiled again.

"But I have been here before. That was years ago though..."
"Oh..." Dreamer said. "Well I've only been here for... I think at least over a year now."
He watched the other curiously. Although Zero was smiling, there was just something sad about the black stallion...
"Why did you leave here though?" The alicorn asked tilting his head to the side. A little bird was also perched on his rainbow coloured mane and watching the other with its head to side.

"Why did you leave here though?"
Zero took awhile to answer.
"I don't really have a home, so I never stay anywhere for very long." He continued to pet the bird, but his eyes met neither the bird's or Dreamer's. "And there's... There's something I have been looking for for many years... but as the years go on, i have fallen behind and..." He snapped back to reality. "Nevermind." He said, his voice sounding oddly unnatural.

"I don't really have a home, so I never stay anywhere for very long... And there's... There's something I have been looking for for many years... but as the years go on, i have fallen behind and... Nevermind."
Dreamer listened on with interest, but much to his disappointment, the stallion cut off. What exactly did the other mean by "falling behind"? How can someone fall behind and in what? He was sure that Zero would be no more than around his age, early 20s, but there was an odd oldness in his eyes...
The black alicorn considered the other with emerald eyes, feeling a tingling sensation in his mind as he focused on what he was searching for in the black stallions aura... Zero has some magic in him... it could be that which keeps him young... The alicorn thought.
Dreamer sat down beside the other the birds perching themselves on his shoulders or the arches of his large wings.
"Well at least we have something in common." Dreamer said with a smile. "I wouldn't say I have much of a home either; I always have the erge to keep on moving and not to stay in one place for too long. I detach myself from the places I visit, but of course I have my favourites. I wouldn't say Ponyville is a favourite though... the place is great and the ponies nice, but I feel like I don't fit in well... I don't know if you know what I mean though..."

[So Dreamer's heading to Xanadia soon? Great! So is Zero!]
Zero sat on the hill staring at nothing, thinking... It wasn't a something, he was looking for, it was a someone, but he had been at it for at least a hundred years, and how much longer could he go on...? These days he just travelled around, hoping that he would run into her...
"Yes... Well, I'm not sure if we don't belong here for the same reasons, but I prefer places where magic is used more frequently, and where there is... less pink." He laughed, but his eyes remained the same, saddened and troubled.

((really? Wow... but I'm still deciding. If I do transfer him to Xanadia, he's going to miss Charm severely. I don't know if he'd want to part with the little peg. )) Dreamer laughed. "Same here. Usually when I travel I try to avoid towns full of pink in excess. One of the reasons would be is that I grew up in a pink place, and also pink just isn't my colour." He smiled at the other, noting the sad look still in his eyes. "I only came here to see a friend, but the visit, I think, has dragged on for too long." "I'd like to keep on travelling but I've made bonds here, and I don't know where else there is to go. Most places are pink and magicless as far as I know... That is magic that doesn't include making rainbows and calling butterflies..." He sighed thinking of his teacher, Seer. I wish Master was here... He thought. He'd know where we could go next, and which places would interest me. I still practice what he's taught me every chance I can, but I feel like my grip on my skills is slipping... I'm tired of sitting around all day..."You look like you've done lots of travelling... do you know of any places lacking pink and full of magic?" Dreamer asked the other.

"I'd like to keep on travelling but I've made bonds here, and I don't know where else there is to go."
"Well," Zero said, smiling. "There's no rules against coming back now and then."
What Dreamer said next, about travelling, caused him to shuffle his wings painfully. He looked out to the horizon, and said simply "Yes, I know many other places." and nothing more. Some places he had visited liked to be kept secret; And although Dreamer seemed to be a stallion which Zero could trust, he couldn't be too sure... He had been fooled before.
[1000th post! I wanted it to be on Zero since Delta's not here. ^.^]

"Well... There's no rules against coming back now and then."
Dreamer shook his head sadly. "Its not that simple... a little foal is concerned, and although there are others who'd be more than willing to care for her, she might need me."
The alicorn sighed heavily. "I feel like I'm being torn into two; I'd love to stay here and watch her grown into a promising young pegasus, I really do, but the mountains and all the lands unexplored call to me..." He shook his head and continued speaking in a softer quieter voice. "There is so much I want to learn of, so much I want to see, and they aren't too far from my grasp... but life is too short to squish everything you want to do into it..."
"Yes, I know many other places."
Dreamer waited for Zero to say more, but he didn't, again. The black alicorn chose not to pressure the other into saying things that were not meant for Dreamer to hear.
He looked at Zero's wings again, considering them with emerald eyes, and feeling the want to know why his wings were in such condition... but Dreamer kept his mouth shut. Dreamer had the feeling that it wasn't likely that Zero was going to answer anyway...
((lol! congrats ^-^))

Instead of speaking words of comfort, Zero said quietly, "Becoming close to another just makes it harder to move on when they are gone."
Zero looked away from Dreamer, so that the other stallion couldn't see the tear that fell from his silver-purple eyes.
The alicorn blinked away the tears hastily. The stallion beside him believed life was too short, but Zero felt as if his had gone on too long.
He shook out his mane, and as he turned back to Dreamer he noticed him glancing at his wings. He tucked them closer to his body.
"I'm sorry... Just forget what I said. There's no reason to go through life alone..."

"Becoming close to another just makes it harder to move on when they are gone."
Dreamers reply to the Zero's words were just as quiet. "But the joys of being close to another, is one of the most wonderful feelings in the world and one which stains the heart with blissful memory even if it bares pain with the others departure... I would rather remember the joyful days of being with someone I loved than to have never have them all... at least that way, my life would not seem empty and meaningless."
The black alicorn would sense the saddness coming from the other, even by just sitting near him though he could not see the other shed a tear.
"I'm sorry... Just forget what I said. There's no reason to go through life alone..."
Dreamer smiled. "It's alright..."

Zero listened to Dreamer's words, and he took them to heart. It felt very odd to be given advice by someone much, much younger than him, but he didn't refuse it.
As he watched the birds flying here and there through the sky, it reminded him of when he was younger. When he could fly without the constant ache in his wings. Back then he could swoop about in the sky happily, racing with the sparrows. And he could befriend anyone without doubting them for a minute. He could trust people back then...
Zero couldn't help being unsure about other ponies, but he pushed those feelings aside as he replied to Dreamer.
"You speak words of wisdom that I wouldn't expect from a stallion of your age." He said softly.
