A loud whinnie was echoing through the night. The wind was blowing hard an the nursery door flung open. A purple earthling screamed into the silence, frantic. "Help! Anybody!" She knew that the house was some kind of official place, but not that it was a nursery. "Anybody..." Still shaking, she let her body fall to the floor and tears made a little river on it. It reminded her so of the blood. The young mare was now crying outloud, and her dusty two-colored mane was covering her face.

Razzaroo woke with a start. He was upstairs, still in the chair he had been sitting in while reading bedtime stories to Sky Feathers. He looked at the little pegasus in the bed beside him. Her face was softly illuminated by the small table light he'd been using to read.
Help!
Startled once more, Razz looked around. Getting up from his chair, he went to the door. Someone was downstairs crying for help. He left the room and hurried downstairs. Seeing the mare huddled on the floor, he rushed up to meet her.
"Hello, what's wrong?" he asked. "Are you OK?" He reached out to touch her shoulder, to comfort her.

(Moving to this post since Spooky isn't replying in the other)
After her talk with Treat, Kail had felt much better, and when Razzarroo came home from wherever he had gone with that other mare she didn't even bother to acknowledge his return. Instead, she busied herself with cleaning (the place hadn't had an all over cleaning in a good week or two) and taking care of the children, and talking (perhaps flirting a little? Not her normal behaviour in any case) with Treat.
Getting the children into bed, Kail went straight to her room, shut and locked the door. She was just starting to fall asleep when she heard the whinny outside and then the door slammed open downstairs. Someone yelled for help, and Kail jumped out of bed, grabbing the doorknob and running into the dang thing as it didn't open. She had never locked her door before.
Shaking her head at herself (it really wasn't safe for her to be locking her door - who knew when someone would need her because one of the children got hurt), she unlocked the door and ran downstairs, noting that she wasn't the first to have arrived. "What's wrong?"

A staillion came runnig from upstairs, and Dasher was crying towards his shoulder when a seagreen pegasus appeared. A purple unicorn with a blach string around her neck was standing quiet in one of the doorways downstairs, but Star Dasher did not notice her. "What´s wrong?" The tears continued to run down Dashers cheeks, and her scratched legs hurt badly. She cried even harder when she remembered all the horrible details. After a moment she fell silent, but sniffed hard and made some intense twitches. She opened her mounth: "B-blood-" another twitch, "-all over." Dasher´s voice was weak, and the word that followed was almost unable to hear. "Squlashed-"

(I must say, a very big Bravo to those of you in the other thread - I just read it. Great stuff!)
Blood. The pony said the word, but Kail inwardly shrugged. A little blood was never a problem. She looked the mare over a noticed a bit of blood on her hoof, but could tell it wasn't this one that was bleeding. Then the mare continued her thought and even just the word 'squlashed' made the peg a bit queasy.
"Where? Who was hurt?" If Kail could get there in time she might be able to do something. Might. But by the sounds of it they were already too late.

"Where? Who was hurt?" The young unicorn at the doorway shivered sightly. Even tought Dasher was still crying, it was now under control. She came to her senses under violent twitches, slowly rised a hoof and pointed out at the darkness thorugh the still opened door. "At t-the street. They are ... dead! It´s too late!" Dasher had now noticed the youngster at the doorway, and could´nt tell this was too good for her to hear, but she did not care by the time. Everything that happened that night, part from what she really was up to, suddenly flew out of her mind. "I was walking behind them. Two of them, I don´t know their names. Then a dark pony appeared out of nowere behind them..." she was ralking fast and took deep breats. Telling the story made her remember everything so horribly clear. "Then ... then ..." Dasher looked frightened, "The pony squlashed them..." Dasher started to twitch again. "Blood. Blood all over the street." She looked up at the pegasus. "He took the bodies". Dasher mimiced Yama´s voice. It had been so cheerful. The dark pony must have been mad ... like her. "Blood! Blood! I can taste the red water again!" Star Dasher lowered her head. She could not help that other thoughts was running to her mind. What was this sort of house? A male, a pegasus female ... and the unicorn youngster. Dasher looked up a little, just so the other would´nt notice, and looked at the unicorn. The unicorn noticed that she was being looked at, anyway, and backed away deeper into the shadows... I know! A thought struk Dasher, but not in triumph. The unicorn youngster was really reminding her of herself, were she stood in the darkness. This is a nursery.

The mare's words froze all emotion in Razz's heart as it took him back to the dark times he had faced, the terror he had seen. He comforted the mare with gentles strokes on her hair and back. Then he looked at Kail, for the first time that day pushing aside all frivolity for their weakened relationship, and took on a sudden bit of strength as he had when he was champion. In a passing flash, there was the rise of the violet aura, and a thought was sent out to Kail. Though it was not meant to reach her, the tips of it fluttered through her mind.
No! Not again! Not again!
There was the flicker of image. Razz was running to the square, tackling some dark shape standing there. He became twisted into it, until it was impossible to tell where it ended and he began. All was rage. Yet Razz remained motionless on the floor, staring at Kail. Something about her was touching him at the very tip of who he was. The vision faded. His mind was once more clear and calm, but his eyes were hard and worried.

Kail listened to the mare with horror. It had only been a year since the last attacks. It had only been a year. Couldn't they have a full year without something going wrong? Rainbows, the evil was all supposed to have left with Katrina. And now there were two more ponies murdered, and who knew what was at it this time. Certainly not the Dark Rainbow, they had gotten rid of that forever. Right?
No! Not again! Not again!
The peg flinched back from the thought that raced through her mind with Razzaroo's voice. Before she could even try to will him out of her mind she could see him racing down the street towards the dark thing, and fight it, and nearly become it. And she could feel the flood of rage go through her mind as if it were her fighting the thing instead of him.
Pushing the thoughts and visions away (although she was quite clear they were simply fading by themselves, rather than from anything of her own doing) she opened her lavendar eyes to meet Razzaroo's teal ones. She registered almost nothing but shock, and the need to get away. Collecting herself, she finally turned away from the purple stallion on the floor.
"Rainbows. You need to get yourself cleaned up and into bed I think," Kail finally said to Dasher. "The bathroom is down the hall on the left, there should be clean towels on the rack. The kitchen is that way if you want some tea or something to calm you down, and if you want to you can stay in my room for the night. Up the stairs and first door on the left. I don't think I will be back til morning anyways."
Kail moved across the room to the table where she kept her keys and grabbed them up, then put on a light jacket. It may have been late summer, but the night had turned rather windy and cold. "Scuse me," she said as she stepped around Razz and Dasher who were in front of the door.
The pegasus was going to see someone she thought might know about the recent happenings in town....
(Continued in Peri's room - off to see Inti)

Razz watched Kail preparing to leave. He didn't want her to go out alone. He wanted to spring to her side and he nearly did, but the look on her face held him back. He remained on the floor. Something strange was pulling at him and he couldn't make up his mind what to do, so he fell back to caring for Dasher. All of his energy was now focused on her.
"It's OK," he said. "Come, on, let's get up. Wash up or at least have a seat somewhere more comfortable. We are not so helpless here. You are safe with us." Despite this, he still appeared skittish as he glanced up at each dark window to be sure nothing evil was peering inside.

Dasher looked up ununderstanding when the stallion shouted. She wanted to call his name, but then it came to her mind that she did not know his name. But it did not last long. Soon it was ovar again, and the pegasus spoke to her. "Rainbows. You need to get yourself cleaned up and into bed I think. The bathroom is down the hall on the left, there should be clean towels on the rack. The kitchen is that way if you want some tea or something to calm you down, and if you want to you can stay in my room for the night. Up the stairs and first door on the left. I don't think I will be back til morning anyways." The seagreen pony prepared to go, and Dasher gave a weak "thanks." Before going away to the bathroom, Dasher looked thankfully at Razz. On her way trough the corridor, the young unicorn backed away into the shadows and out of sight.
Dasher closed and locked the door behind herself. It had been so long since she last visited a rom like this. If she had been in the right mood, she´d look in every cupboard she could find. But something told her not to. The young mare looked into the mirror, and she saw a thin, miserable pony with swollen eyes whom stared back at her. They ... they were... She could not belevie that she was actually allowed to stay. She did not know what she had suspected when running into the building either. Why would they care for her? Dasher sighed inwardly and turned on the shower.

45 minutes later, if not more, Dasher sat curled up in a chair all alone in the kitchen. The smell of tea - it was wonderful. But she knew it woul´nt last forever. Even though she enjoyed this moment, scenes of corpses still flashed trough her mind, and she could not stand the thought of being back in a nursery. Star Dasher drank from the cup. Lemon. She gave a sigh. She looked out the window. Stars covered the night sky. She shivered as she wondered if that horrible villian still was out there. Then she remebered being a villian herself... I have never even thought about murdering anypony. Dasher shook her head. No. She was nothing compared to that. What had she done? Robbery, threathening, running away from resturants without paying ... Dasher tried to think happier thoughs. But she could´nt. This was her life, after all.

"Hello". The voice strattled Dasher. In the doorway was two green eyes peering mystically at her through the light from the candles. The unicorn youngster walked into the kitchen, opened up a cupboard and picked a cup. She put it down on the table with a concerned look at the stranger, who had returned to her tea again. Whisper Wind opened her mouth to say something, but then closed it again. Whis knew that she was an intelligent pony, she was also very spontan. To tell the truth, she liked her somewhat maleish personality. She liked her knowledge aswell as her sense of humor, but also wanted to be respected for who she was. Other ponies often laughed at her becuse she was so different. She used to shrug and think "I laugh at the becuse they´re all the same". The purple teenager gave a thoughtful, not noticeable sigh as she filled her cup with hot water. A split second later the cup laid in pieces, togheter with the water, on the floor. Whis felt a sweatdrop on her forhead and put a hoof in her mouth in order to stop laughing. She peered at the mare, but she had not moved since Whisper Wind had entered the room.

Whis stopped laughing at once. She swiftly cleaned up without a word, and then sat by the table with another cup of tea. Dasher could not avoid her curios glance anylonger. "Hello there," said the five year older mare dull. Whis shrugged inwards at her failed attempt to smile. A few minutes of silence passed before Star Dasher spoke again. "I guess, um ..." She tried again. "How do you like it here at the nursery?" Asked the stranger, slow and polite. She did not seem to want to hurt the youngster´s feelings. "Do you miss your parents?" Whis watched the somewhat bony mare and looked down at her quite furry hoof that held a grip around the blue cup. She wondered if the older pony really cared. "Well ... I do not live here, actually. Mom´s fine too, she´s living in the greenery of the outskirts of Arcadia, along with my family." A image of a green unicorn with mane similar to hers, and liles of the valley on her hip crossed the young unicorns mind. "And dad is fine to," she hurried to add. Whisper Wind spotted something that seemed to be disapointment in the mare´s eyes. Dasher felt lonleyness. She did not wish the unicorn unhappyness ... she did not know what she wanted. Understanding, perhaps? "I see," Dasher replied with another steer in her cup with the silver spoon. "... It´s just that you reminded me so much about myfelf..." Dasher admitted, when she saw the youngster´s ununderstanding look. I should´nt be telling her more, Dasher thought miserabley, and looked down at the bottom of her cup again. "Did you grew up in a nursery?" Whis slowly asked. and when Dasher did´nt answer, she took that as a yes. She did not want to insult the mare, so she changed the subject. "Is´nt it a lovely night?" Whis gesticulated towards the window, with the starry sky outside. "It´s so..." "I ran away," said Star Dasher quickly, and stared out the window with a sightly frightened gaze. She was not telling the youngster more. Whisper opened her mounth as if to say something, then closed it. She opened it again, and closed it once more. Both remained silent.
