Razz was staring down at a bleary bowl of oatmeal. The previous night had been quite an adventure. Now that he was home again, he was having a really late breakfast. It didn't appeal to him, though. Breakfast without pancakes was pretty much like life without Kail. Or at least this is what he was thinking at that very moment as he stared down at the gloopy glop stuck on the end of his spoon. He shook it once, twice. It wouldn't come off. It was rather like the feeling he was carrying around and couldn't shake.

(Its gonna take you longer to round up the Champs than it will take me to steal the locket, so I'm gonna go ahead and post this early so you can get started) It was early morning - early enough that most of the children would still be asleep she was sure - but that didn't stop Kail from quickly picking up the phone at her parents house in Dream Valley and dialing the Nursery's number. The kids (and adults) would forgive her for waking them up for this.*Ring Ring, Ring Ring* Comon Razzaroo, pick up!*Ring Ring, Ring Ring* (Well, nevermind, its late morning I guess, but I don't want to rewrite that so just pretend )

A strange feeling overcame Razz. He dropped his spoon and looked around, as if expecting Kail to walk in the kitchen just then. Perplexed, he realized he was alone.
RING! RING! RING!
What on earth?
RING! RING! RING!
Realizing the phone was ringing, he got up off the chair and reached over to pick it up. He sat back down again.
"Ponyville Nursery. This is Razzaroo. How may I help you?" he asked.

"Oh thank the Great Rainbow, Razzaroo!"
She wanted to rush into the questions; ask if he was alright, if the kids were fine, how her sister was, how Sherbet was faring, and all the other little things she never thought about while there but worried about constantly while gone. But right now all that was secondary. Right now there were bigger things to discuss.
"Listen Razz, someone has stolen the Locket, right out of the Dream Castle vaults!. We need to round up the Champions and find whoever did it and get the Rainbow back!"
Kail was nearly in hysterics. She hadn't slept well last night and the news that the vaults had been broken into bright and early this morning and ruined her nerves. Her mother and father had already spent two hours calming her down enough for her to think of calling Razz to get the Champions together. But then again, she wasn't the yellow stripe.

"Hi, Kail!" Razz perked up at the sound of her voice. He leaned out of the chair as he spoke over her voice. "How are you? How are things? I miss you. The kids miss you, too. We went camping last night. Had lots of fun. Well, not too much fun. Not without you. You sound out of breath. Were you running? You should sit down."
Absently, he took his own advice and leaned back in the chair. In doing so, he put the brakes on his own mental ramblings and took a moment to consider what she had said. Something about a locket? She wanted him to get her some jewerly? He scratched absently at an itch behind his ear, unaware that his psi symbol was glowing softly, and felt that strange sensation again.
"I'm in the mood for seaweed," he muttered, more to himself than to her. He wrinkled his nose as more and more images floated down into his mind. At last, he made some sense of it. His eyes darkened. "Kail, are you in trouble?"

(Oh you can always count on Razz to be a little daft ) On the other end of the phone there was silence as Kail realized none of what she had just said had gotten through. She took his advice and sat down (she had been pacing the kitchen with the cordless) and then couldn't help but start laughing to herself. At least him and the kids had been having fun.
Finally, something seemed to get through to the hardheaded stallion and he asked if she was ok."I'm fine Razz, but the Rainbow is in trouble." Maybe she aught to explain things a little more thuroughly. "The Rainbow of Light was in its Locket, safe in the Dream Valley vaults until last night. Someone broke into the vaults and stole the Rainbow, Razz. The Rainbow whose stripes we carry? Its gone - they think it was pirates. I need you to gather up the rest of the Champions, in whatever way you can, and come to Dream Valley. We need to get the Rainbow back." There, that should be clear enough.

Razz was wondering how someone other than the Great Hasbro himself could wander off with something as magnificent--and elusive--as a rainbow. Why did they keep it in a locket, anyway? It didn't seem like an adequate place for a rainbow. Was it comfy living in a little locket like that? He'd should have liked to ask more about it, but Kail seemed a bit distressed. Maybe he'd ask her later.
Something clicked.
"You did say our Rainbow? The rainbow that came and saved us?" Razz felt rushed. Well, of course! How many Rainbows of Light were there in the world, anyway? This was the rainbow that had come to him in the form of the violet band, the rainbow that had filled him up with such hope and joy, and then blessed him with a small piece of itself. He touched the mark behind his ear. This wasn't just any rainbow. This was his rainbow. It had come to him when he needed it. Now it needed him! It needed all the champions and he knew what he had to do.
"I'll be there soon. I've got to get the others. We'll be on the road as soon as we can. Just stay put until we get there." At last, he added more softly, "I don't want you getting into any trouble without me." And softer still. "I love you, Kail." His eyes were closed. He could almost feel her next to him.

"Yes, our Rainbow!"
Kail was nearly at her wits end with this conversation, but she nearly heard the click in Razz's head as he finally understood what she was saying. And he was acting buisness-like. Kail trusted Razz to get things done when he was in this kind of mood - he had a very one-thing-at-a-time mind sometimes.
Kail's chest tightened as he said he loved her. She could feel his presence right there with her in the kitchen, keeping her from pacing a circle in the floor. "I love you too Razz. I will stay out of trouble until you get here, I promise." And then as an afterthought, "Hurry."
It was going to take them a whole day by foot - assuming he was able to find them all. But Kail knew it would be easy for him to track down all the former Champions, as well as the new ones she had been feeling since last night.

"I will," he said. "I have to go now. Kisses on your so-soft parts."
He hung up the phone and ran for the door. Moments later he was back in the kitchen writing out a note to the rest of the nursery, so they would know what was going on. He left instructions for the adults not to tell the children, though. He thought it best if the kids thought he was off on an adventure and would be back soon.
(Continued...wherever the rainbow guides him...)

Blushing as he gave her phone kisses (and what parts might those be ), Kail reluctantly hung up the phone. Razz would get the other Champions and it would be only a day before she saw him again.(I know there are some Champions at the River)
