Lol! I see there sprouts some interest. Well, during my all-too-full-of-manual-labour-weekend at my dad's summer cottage, I have come to some ideas. I think what I would like to do is to gobble up part of the north of Ponyland - be the whole block called Northlands or not - to the north-west of Ponyville, to be exact, and call the area Aurorea in geographical terms. It would be a place of which not much is known because not many ponies want to go where it is awfully cold and awfully dangerous. ;D All in all, it's meant to be a sort of old-fashioned fantasy game, where nearly everything is possible... magic and all. I'm developing it more, so it'll take some time before it'll be a full-fledged game, so all ye interested, be patient. So no, I'm not trampling with what is already known about the Northlands. I'm going to go "where no pony has gone before" and set up camp there. I hope it's going to be something many people will like, but I'll advertise more when I've got it more finished.

I've always imagined the Northlands covered a very wide range of territory, (I guess because I'm in MI, I think of it as being all of Canada, lol). Neve is from the Northlands, but definately from a wilderness area where things are wild and there isn't much of anything except the nomadish kin of her tribe. So this sounds like it would be her homeland.
That's also where Razz's family is, so if you started a game, I could probably bring them into it. His parents supposedly left him in Ponyville so that they could attend to some important business in the Northlands. Eventually they just went missing from there, too, though, so Razz hasn't seen or heard from them since he was very little. I guess I envisioned them being involved in some kind of war (years ago), which was why they left Razz behind. It would be nice to flesh them out some more... and figure if they are still up there and what happened to them. Cupcake is looking for them now. Probably captured by whampas or something...
LOL!

Well, you know, it was Kari who came up with the technology bit, but I already changed half of her ponyland, so I guess we could keep the tech in just Ponytown (which should be on the map at the main C03 page's info section) and the rest be very wild. I would be more than happy to join if I had the time, which I don't, but maybe someday I will again

If we're calling Hasbros, I've been wanting a place to play Cloud Climber - she's like my birth month pony, but a peg. *hopes she hasn't called unwanted attention to CC*

LOL! Cloud Climber is awesome! I think I'm going to stick with uniques from now on, though. ;D Otherwise I just see one I want to play whenever a new pony comes out. Hee!

I know what you mean. I just love the white/blue combo, and the fact that she's a peg. ;D

^-^ So happy so many people are interested. Sil, I didn't know Neve was from the Northlands. Lol! I'm sure you'll have no problem to find her hometribe from there, since there definitely are nomadic tribes there of all kinds. Of course, there are other pony tribes and pony types than those nomadic ones, but all in all it's rather scarcely populated. As for Razz's folks, I'd be happy to talk it out with you as to where his parents would have come from and which war they would have been involved in and such... there definitely has been wars up there. So I guess if Ponytown and surrounding areas will be the technologically advanced areas, I'd have my Aurorea off eastwards from Ponytown. Then there would have to be a bit of ocean in between them, which would also explain why there's not much contact between the Northlanders from the east and Northlanders from the west. Also, Aurorea would be a bit higher north than Ponytown. As for calling Hasbros, since I don't want this thread clogged up with a long list of calls, if anyone wants to call a Hasbro for Aurorea, feel free to PM me about it. As for Cloud Climber, feel free to claim her, WS, and Dainty Dove and Sweetberry are fine with me, Angel, but I might want to talk a bit with you about the option of making them Island Sisters (I'll PM you about it).

Oh! Well, that's good information for you to know, since you're playing her daughter. I was going to direct you to some Darkling threads for backstory on Neve, but I see the board finally decided to update. *kicks it*
Sooo, to sum: Neve left the Northlands at a young age and eventually grouped with Sil, Visi, and Fernando. In those days they were known as the Backwater Quad, going about being rather thievish and dastardly. Eventually they put this energy to good use and became Mystic Guardians. Sil was already the apprentice of the Mystic, but this was during that time when she traveled the world at his insistance (in order to learn more about it). Sil and Neve were both into Visi. Visi chose Sil, but then Sil turned around and chose Wolfbadger (who had just come onto the scene) and that's how Atarluna was born. Neve held a grudge over the whole fiasco for a long time, especially since Visi decided to give her a go after Sil turned him down. She hates playing second to Sil (which seems to happen all the time), yet she does think of her like a sister sometimes. It's a rough connection they have.
When the throne was lost, Neve herself became lost. She was going to return to the Northlands, but got distracted by Artan (actually she came into heat unexpectedly and was "caught up" in the moment. Artan took after her in a long race and eventually caught her for real). After conceiving the foal, she decided to stay in Brightwind. Artan was with her for a time, but one day went missing. Now she is alone, except for the foal.
The ponies of Neve's tribe have always had a special connection to the earth on which they were born. Being born in the Northlands, Neve was closely connect to the north and the power of ice and snow and illusion. Since the baby was conceived in the Darklands, she is connected to the dark in the way. (At least, that's the story I had concocted at the time...) Neve had planned to stay in the Darklands long enough to raise the child to know her power and then they'd be free to roam once she was a little older. I think, also, she's always hoped Artan would come back (he's probably dead, though, killed by a vorg or something). We could take their characters back and forth rather easily, in fact.
I could also bring Sky Feathers to the Northlands someday (Cupcake's daughter who is staying with Razz). Her father was supposed to be some great, powerful pegasus stallion from the Northlands. Not sure what his story is yet... Maybe she would like to meet him someday, when she comes of age and her true powers come out. Maybe she needs help controlling them. I'm not even sure what her powers will be yet, although I did have some thoughts about her accidently killing her mother.
(Makes me wish I had more time to write...)

(I'm sure we all have that wish. *glances longingly at her several files that have beginnings of stories and not the ends*) Heh, Proboards is really playing tricks on us. *sigh* Thanks for the brief, I was wondering about how all that went.... (I was reading up on some of the old posts on Darklands but then there was that little accident with the Dragon before I got to reading all of the latest chapter-stuff, and now I'm a little confused of the more recent events, hehe.) Yeah, once I've got the place set up a little farther you can choose where you want Neve's tribe to come from, precisely, assuming you'll still want them coming from my part of Northlands by then . Basically it's probably either the Eagle Plains (more nomadic people there) or the Winterland (more ice and snow and illusion there). You'll probably wanna look around once I've got it set up properly, for Sky Feathers' dad as well. He could be even from the Winter Queen's royal line if you want. ^-^

Ooo... Winter Queen. I like the sound of Winterland. When I made Neve, I started with her physical appearance. I thought a splotchy appy-paint type would be nice to throw into the mix (as I was creating a group of characters as temps for the castle battle on this board). I wanted her coloring to be distinctive, bright, and commanding. So if you saw her walking down the street, you'd have to stop and look. You wouldn't be awed and you wouldn't necessarily cringe, but you'd still react with a sense of "Gosh, look at that." That's why I went with the red on white. I made it a deeper red, like blood, which is also where I got her name Nevesangui, which means blood on snow or bloody snow or snow-blood (take your pick). I think I was actually going to call her Bloody Snow or something like that, but thought that would drive her character too harshly, so adapted the Italian. Interesting how word usage will do that... Once I had this image of her in my head, I knew for sure she'd be a warrior of some kind. Tall, muscular, with a cold stare and similar attitude, but layered. She's quite blossomed since I made her. It will be fun watching her raise a foal. She's not delicate and will often be out of character with the foal early on (hormones, I'm sure). The question is, will she stay like that? Or will she eventually revert back to her old self? How will that change her relationship with the foal? Will she push her away? Will the bond be stronger? All things I look forward to seeing as time goes by. And, yes, darn that dragon!!! What a shame I lost not only that, but the backups I was keeping. At least, I can't find them. It's been so long since I made the board; I know the files are two computers back. I just can't find them. *pouts* If I have time this weekend maybe I will rewrite them. I'm supposed to write something else, though, so I don't know if I'll have time. (That reminds me, I'll be gone until Wednesday.)

Lol! I thought Nevesangui sounded.. familiar somehow. I study Italian, so if it's Italian-derived, it would explain why it sounded vaguely familiar. Oh, and yeah, it'll be awesome watch her and the foal grow together, so to speak. ^-^ I'm so happy I got to play her.
To Angel: I don't know when it will be up. I'm being thorough. So I'm coming up with history and details and all that, so that at least I know where everything is going even though all the players don't have to know it all. ^-^ So I don't make any promises. I'll ad when I've got it done.
