Tramp trotted into the Cafe, on a good mood. He was anxious to meet Fluttershy again. As he got in, he looked around, but she was nowhere in sight yet. He was glad to have been the first to get there, so his smile widened and he trotted over to the bar.
"Milkshake, please," he ordered and then proceeded to sit down on a stool at the counter.

Shortly after, Fluttershy walked into the cafe with a bright smile. She waved casually to a few ponies who were just leaving, chatting just enough to say hi and hello, and my don't you look lovely today. She didn't see Tramp at first and allowed herself to be distracted by the cookie rack as she waited for him.
She breathed in deeply, enjoying the light and airy pastry scents. There were so many delicious little treats, all teasing her with their gooey fluff 'n nuff. Surely her diet would survive if she had just one little nibble before Tramp came? Perhaps a rainbowberry tart? Fruit was healthy, right?
She nodded to the pony behind the counter and pointed to the big custard cupcake with fluffy white frosting and purple sprinkles. If she was going to have something delicious, it might as well be really delicious.

Tramp noticed Fluttershy almost when she came in, but as he saw her by the cookie rack he suddenly got the impulse of not telling her he was there, some ways off of her. She was so beautiful. So fresh, somehow. Tramp had gone by many an old inn on his travels, and most women he had met were countryfolk and somehow always so... dusty. He couldn't think of a better word. To him, Fluttershy seemed like a fresh breath of air in a room that had stayed undusted for too long.
His heart? Perhaps. He sipped on his milkshake quietly as he watched her, tossing her hair a little as she nodded to the pony behind the counter. He felt a slight pang. Sure, they had had a lovely time the other night, but would she really care for him? What did he have to offer to someone like her?
His other ear slightly drooped by this thought, he continued watching her, quietly, forgetting himself there.

Fluttershy took the plate offered by the counter-pony, payed for her cupcake, and then turned to approach the counter so that she could take a seat and eat her treat. She noticed Tramp sitting a few hooves away. Was he watching? It startled her momentarily, but gave her a hushed sense of pride and delight.
"Oh, you're here," she said, smiling. Her eyes darted across the counter and to her plate. She set the plate down and slid onto the stool next to him. As her hip brushed against him, she felt herself blush deeper. She felt the urge to speak. "I've had such a wonderful morning. The gloxinia are blooming in the park. It's heaven to run there in the early morning. So vibrant and peaceful at the same time. You can just get lost there in the gardens." She drew silent, realizing she was gushing and felt silly for it. "I'm sorry. I'm rambling on. How are you? Did you wait long?"

Tramp only smiled as he listened to her speak. He loved her voice. And the blush on her cheeks made her look ever so cute. He imagined her running around a garden, in the midst of flowers... Tramp couldn't imagine how an angel like her could ever like a scruffy ruffian like him.
But she had come, hadn't she?
"Oh," he said when he realisd she had asked him a question or two. He grew just a little red around the ears as well. "Oh, no, not long at all. I just came in." He smiled and leaned his cheek on his hoof, his elbow on the counter. "I was just admiring the view," he said, still half lost in his dream of her in the middle of a flower garden, some orchids around her neck and wild wind in her hair...

In a sudden fit of giggles, Fluttershy blushed deeper. Her eyes wandered from his face to the counter to the clock on the wall. She didn't know why she suddenly felt so shy. She was anything but shy the other day when they were...
"I appreciate the compliment," she managed to say, trying to keep up a sudden sense of dignity and pride as she quieted her laughter to a soft bemused expression. "You are very sweet."
Tramp was so good to her. Not at all like that Razzaroo fellow. No, no, no, she thought. NO thoughts about that crazy fellow. She swept him from her mind. She was all Tramp's today.

Tramp whisked his tail cheerfully, happy of the impact his comment had made. He was beginning to feel a little more secure of himself now. He smiled and reached his muzzle across the table to her, to touch her briefly on the tip of her nose. He was feeling extremely affectionate.
"Can I buy you something else? A dinner, maybe?" He smiled. "Where would you like to go from here? There's a play going in the theatre, or you can pick a shop and I'll buy you something nice."
He wondered why he was wanting to buy her stuff all the time.

"Oh, dinner and a show would be lovely. Or a walk in the park even. A stroll by the beach. You do not have to buy me anything too extravagent, although I think it is a lovely gesture." She touched his hoof with her own. She then withdrew and picked up a menu. "I do believe the fried pepper rice comes highly recommended."

Tramp felt flushed as she touched his hoof. He felt like he was melting into a puddle, then recalled he was a stallion and tried to get a grip. He smiled and turned to the menu as well. He found he was as nervous as if this had been his first date? Why was that? He wasn't really all that in love yet, was he? He'd not known her that long.
But then again, he was lonely. He wondered briefly where his brother was, then shook the thought off angrily. Tramp was more dependent of his brother than he cared to admit.
"Yes," he said to Fluttershy, finding it easy to distract himself from thoughts of his brother while in her company. "That sounds great."
He wasn't sure if he was replying to her recommendation of the food or about what she had said about their plans for the evening. He always felt awkward with ordering food. He was too used to cooking himself, he supposed. He didn't really even know what all the fancier names on the list meant. To him, there existed rather few actual foods - these were categorised into soups and other, usually mushed things.

Fluttershy tapped the counter as she tried to get the attention of the pony taking orders. Then she turned back to Tramp. "She's coming," she said. "I'm in the mood for spicy almond salad, I think." When the counter-pony came up, she repeated the order, also requesting a glass of water.
She then span around on her stool to observe the cafe. There were a lot of ponies there, eating, playing checkers, building sundaes at the sundae bar. She also noticed that a few of them had colds because they kept blowing their noses. Poor things! She wondered then if she should have gotten a tall glass of orange juice to go with her meal.
She leaned into Tramp, saying, "Maybe we can take our food to the patio outside." Through the windows of the cafe, she could see several empty tables. The rainbow-colored umbrellas twirled slowly in the breeze.

Tramp gave his order as well, choosing something at random. How bad could it be? He ordered his meal with a juice, as he was feeling like something that had an actual taste. When Fluttershy leaned into him he smiled and wrapped a hoof around her.
"Sure," he said and nuzzled her briefly on the forehead. "You would look better in the sunshine." He realised how that might have sounded, and blushed. "Er... I... I mean..." he ran out of words, not knowing just how to continue. He was not much of a sweet-talker, and kicked himself for even trying. He was far too straightminded.

If it hadn't been for Tramp's stuttering, Fluttershy might have been insulted. But she smiled warmly and tickled his cheek with the tips of her lips.
"I know what you mean," she said.

Tramp let out a relieved breath at Fluttershy's assurance. He had been afraid she might have been badly offended. He smiled, still a bit flustered.
"I tend to speak the first thing that comes to my mind sometimes," he said quietly, apologetically. "My brother says I have an over-developed sense of honesty."
