"Jewel's still out, maybe we can talk about this in the bedroom.,"
"Alright," Kail had really only come with the intention of speaking with Inti, but they might as well all hear it. Before they could move though, Jewel stirred and sat up asking her what was wrong. She didn't know whether or not she should tell the other peg, it was a hell of a way to be woken up, that she knew for sure.
"Uh..you two know each other?" Kail's mind flashed back to the year before, the battle in the castle. Jewel had been the one to kill Chakra. Chakra who had nearly killed Kail as a child, who had tried to kidnap her sister, who worked magics that were not physical and could not be healed by the sea green pegasus. "Yes, Jewel helped me out immensly last summer." And with that, Kail decided she might as well tell Jewel what had happened - she would be a good one to have on their side and in the know.
Dismissing the bedroom, since they were all awake now, she closed the door tight behind her and stepped further into the room. She stood silently for a moment, and then realized that Inti had breathed two names when she had told them of the murders. Turning on him, she finally started speaking.
"You claim to be some sort of god yes? And Tyr, he is the same." Kail had known Tyr since she was born, it was very painful to think of him in this new way. She looked around and caught sight of the quiet mare in the room. "You too. And my guess is Set is also proclaiming to be a god. In fact, I've noticed seven of you in the past week. What are you doing in Ponyville so suddenly? If your buisness is simply to run around killing folks we can and will make you leave. We've fought worse and won."

"Lass, I can assure you that not all of us are in this business to destroy lives,"Brigid hotly replied, whilst shaking her head just slightly to emphasize her place in the conversation. She paused a moment, forcing any form of a temper down. The mare had just came for answers, anyone would be a bit upset over dead bodies in the town.
She looked back to Inti, nodding her head as he had muttered the culprits. "I can garuntee atleast three of us have no wishes in taking lives. On the other hoof, three wouldn't mind taking a few down for laughs."
(erm, brain fart)

Jewel stifled a groggy yawn and blinked her eyes a few times before standing up securely. She looked at Inti, and responded in a half-mumble, "We fought together last summer.. I killed the evil stripe that had tried to kill her," She motioned with her head toward Kail. "So yes.. that's how we know each other."
The pegasus grew more alert as Kail began to ask questions. These were the same questions Jewel had been dying to find the answers for all along. Interested as ever, the peg sat down and folded her wings, listening intently.
"I can garuntee atleast three of us have no wishes in taking lives. On the other hoof, three wouldn't mind taking a few down for laughs."
"Which three would those be?" Jewel asked quietly, with an emotionless expression.

(I've got some time on my hands. If Inti is ever needed and I'm not around, Rose has permission to cover for me if she wants. Just up until I get back into the swing of things.)
"You too. And my guess is Set is also proclaiming to be a god. In fact, I've noticed seven of you in the past week. What are you doing in Ponyville so suddenly? If your buisness is simply to run around killing folks we can and will make you leave. We've fought worse and won."
Inti waved an arm in the air defensively, "No, no..It's not like that..." Then he was cut off.
"Lass, I can assure you that not all of us are in this business to destroy lives. I can garuntee at least three of us have no wishes in taking lives. On the other hoof, three wouldn't mind taking a few down for laughs."
He nodded back to her, scratching on hoof on the ground for a moment. Talk in such dim, serious levels weren't his choice of conversation, especially with such a innocent young mortal.
"Which three would those be?"
He turned his head to look at Jewel. "Yama, Set, and Eshu." He breathed.

"I knew it was Set," Kail mumbled to herself. Rainbows she hated that pony, and Silverfall too. And to think she had invited him into the nursery!
"So, what? Now they are just going to randomly kill everyone in Ponyville until... we're all dead? We put a stop to it? YOU put a stop to it? Why are any of you here?"
Kail was nearly yelling at both Brigid and Inti. She didn't mean to, but if they were supposed to be gods themselves why didn't they put a stop to it?

"Yama, Set, and Eshu."
For the most part, the pegasus' face remained relatively expressionless. Her mouth was set in a tight line, jaw clenched, and eyes staring at the floor. Golden ears pinned back on her head, Jewel's mind began turning. There must be something I can do.. Maybe Eshu will let me out of our agreement.. maybe it's not too late. If it is.. maybe I can influence from the inside. What is it they say? Keep your friends close and your enemies closer? There may be a way out of this yet... The stone in the mare's amulet around her neck swirled a soft purple color in its core.
"So, what? Now they are just going to randomly kill everyone in Ponyville until... we're all dead? We put a stop to it? YOU put a stop to it? Why are any of you here?"
At this point, Jewel looked up, eyes resting upon Inti and Brigid. She didn't wish to put any unecessary pressure on the two, but wanted to know their answers as badly as Kail did.

"So, what? Now they are just going to randomly kill everyone in Ponyville until... we're all dead? We put a stop to it? YOU put a stop to it? Why are any of you here?"
Brigid did her best not to lose her temper at the tone of voice used towards her and Inti. Though, her voice wasn't usually as forcefully strong as normal, it still held a very recognizable tone of anger. "Don't be ridiculous, mare! What good would the lot of you be dead to them? A shepherd is not one if his flock is dead, and so true is it with the gods."
"I think that what she means, Kail, is that the gods need some ponies, even the dark ones, to survive.," Peri Winkle tried to explain. He was one of those ponies, after all.
Inti nodded his head to the sea green peg. "We've been asleep for ages, and just woke up somehow. I can't explain why exactly we're all here at this one spot. But the reason for us to be going anywhere at all is to find mages, ponies that will serve us, return our--"
"Inti.," Brigid snapped. This is a delicate subject and you have a very wide mouth! She looked perhaps thoughtful under her frustrated exterior. "Ending this is not so easily done, for god nor mortal alike. The gods are restless after our previous slumber, they will not withdrawal any attempts to secure their positions without a vast battle."
The unicorn's eyes clouded a moment, as if recalling a nightmare long forgotten. Murmuring softly to herself, "And any battle with them will always be a bloody hellish event."

"And any battle with them will always be a bloody hellish event."
Not raising her head from looking at the floor, Jewel closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She sat there a few seconds like this, before a shiver overtook most of her body. Still, her eyes remained closed. I've seen enough of battle, the old soul thought tiredly, The last thing I want to see right now is more lives being taken.. She paused, Or me taking them myself. She looked up.
"Is there no way to get through this without battle?" She asked calmly, hooves trembling slighlty now and then, "No compromise between gods?" The golden pegasus looked first to the beige goddess, then to Inti. "No guarantee we will, in fact, live through this?"

"Compromises and negotiations only act as delays. One cannot trust dark gods to keep their ends of compromises. It has been proven many times in the past, it will be the same now. ," Brigid answered.
She knew it was unsettling to hear for probably all present. Even Inti hated battle, she was certain. However, she supposed the thought of battle didn't shock her too badly. Brigid, after all, ran head first into an all out physical confrontation with Yama. She was the goddess of smithing and fighting, as well as herding. Battle was something she was used to, it was the deaths of her mages and innocents she was not.
"Besides," Brigid crudely stated, "There is no garuntee for those whom are not immortal."

"So that's it then. You just woke up and wanted power. Great Rainbows." Kail threw up her hoofs in exasperation. If they needed mages to survive then perhaps she could just put out a warning to any others not to join them - that it was potentially life threatening (which was true). But then, Jewel was still a mage, and Peri was a mage, and Rainbows knew how many others were already mages. Kail doubted it was very easy to un-be a mage.
More fighting. A sigh escaped the sea green lips as Kail thought back to a year ago. "Can't you go anywhere else? Someplace with fewer people?" Someplace with hardened warriors is what she was really thinking. Perhaps someplace with an actual army. Course or Jadus or even the Northlands. Someplace where the majority of the residents weren't plush young adults just getting out on their own. She saw what happened last year, when a very small minority of the populace fought off the Dark Rainbow. And without the Rainbow of Light to help them they would have all died for sure. And you could never predict the Rainbow of Light - it usually only came when the locket was opened.

From the look on Silence's face Jol knew instantly what it was the colt wanted to know. Where to begin? To tell him or not to? What would the pegasus think? Why did he have to care?
Lowering his head until he was at eye level, orange eyes stared into white. A look of longing to explain what was going on flickered in the unicorn's eyes for a brief second. For the first time ever he wanted to tell someone of the evil deeds he'd been up to, or was planning to be up to. But why? Why did the colt have such an impact on him?
"If I could tell you, I would." Jol stated his voice soft but firm.
[OOC: Ack! Sorry, sorry, sorry. *gives self a swift kick* Again, I'm sorry.]

"Where else do you propose we go? Tyr has been awake all this time and he was nearby, as well as Dragonrose, my faithful mage. Where else was I supposed to go? I searched for something familiar, so that I could come to understand this age.," Brigid replied in a huff.
She would not usually feel the need to explain herself, least not to an accusing mortal, but Kail seemed to be reflecting negatively on all gods in general. Though that wasn't unnatural in this age, Brigid didn't like the blow of having the light, caring gods being thought of so poorly.
"I had met Tyr and Set at the Inn when I first arrived. Then Calliope appeared, I believe that the others felt Tyr's presence, perhaps drawn in the same way. Unless of course you know why we've all gather in one spot, excluding our obvious need for mages.," she turned pointedly to Inti.
Peri Winkle frowned. This wasn't what he'd expected at all. Of course, he knew he should have seen the resistance. Perhaps he wouldn't have been in the situation if he never accepted Inti's offer. Was he just being too open-minded? Then again how would resisting the nine present gods be wise? They'd fought a rainbow before, but nine gods? No. I'm friends with Inti. I won't turn my back on him because of who he is.
However...there was Jewel to consider. If the case presented, would he have to choose between Jewel or Inti? Could he put his friendship on the line for the one he'd just gotten to know? It was getting harder to remain optimistic, and silently Peri Winkle wished he could ask his mother for advice.

Jewel listened to Brigid's explanation, nodding her head ever so slightly. It made sense to her that they might come to Ponyville.. it definitely had a mix of the old blood in it, as well as newcomers. Still, she sighed and contemplated her future under Eshu's command.. if she'd even have a future after this.
Not far from her thoughts was Peri. Slowly her eyes raised to him, questions and worries bubbling under the surface. She too knew that he might have to choose against her, even if just for the reason of saving his own skin. The pegasus wondered if she should, as she had done many times in the past, harden her heart and try to forget her emotions. Face the idea that Peri could die, or even that she could herself. Settle down into a survival mentality, and try to forget about friendship.
But for some reason.. she couldn't.

Around this time, Kimono was making his way quietly through the castle, only the hollow hoofbeats and occaisional creak from his pack as evidence anyone was walking the dark corridors at all. It took him a bit longer than he expected to reach the room where the mare, Jewel, and the others he had been sent to find were staying. Kimono cleared his throat softly, and knocked on the door.

So it was Tyr's fault they were all in Ponyville! Rainbows, if he had simply stayed in Dream Valley, none of this would be happening here.
Of course, if he had stayed in Dream Valley, she would be worried about her parents (well her dad at least, her mother seemed to have Kail's same uncanny knack of surviving everything, and her mother wasn't even a great healer), worried about Comet, worried about Vel and all her friends, and about her neice. She was fairly sure Karma could take care of herself, but she would have been worried about her too. But weren't there at least that many ponies here that she was now worried about too? At least many in Dream Valley had been around during the last Great War and would know how to fight something like these Gods.
Frustration was pulling unwanted tears to Kail's lavendar eyes, and she had to blink a few times to hold them back. How could they possibly fight this? These Gods were obviously trying to get mages who were the most powerful of all the ponies in Ponyville and the surrounding areas. That left a bunch of powerless ponies led by Kail (who swore to the Rainbow at least a dozen times that night that she would neither join nor help any of the Gods, even the "good" ones). Maybe she could go get the locket and release the Rainbow of Light? But then again, even flying Dream Valley was a whole day away, and by the time she returned with it, Ponyville might well have been destroyed.
"You say Tyr is at the Inn, and you all followed him here?" She looked to Brigid, but didn't really bother to wait for an answer. "I'm going to talk to Tyr."
And with that, she abruptly turned and left the room, running into Kimono on her way out. "Sorry!" she called back as she turned and ran down the hall.
(continued wherever Tyr is)

Brigid watched silently as Kailani abruptly left. Perhaps mentioning Tyr wasn't exactly the wisest course of action, yet Brigid was asked a question and she honestly answered. Truth would have gotten out sooner or later, and Inti had all ready revealed his immortality at the beach. It was all just a whirling spin down hill from there. No point in hiding actions or identities longer.
Now that the peg was gone, Brigid could only let her mind wander back to what initially dragged her from bed. Yama and Set's energies had been close together, some of Set's powers had even been used, as well as Yama's....but now.... The beige unicorn closed her eyes heavily, her bruised body fatigued from all that had happened. She could no longer sense such a strong presence from either two, whatever they had been doing, it was over now. Blast that mare, perhaps we could have discovered what deeds they were committing.
Brigid exhalled with a wave of irritation born through frustration. Not even announcing it, she turned from those around her back towards Peri Winkle's bedroom and the bed she had been lying upon. She had needed the rest to aid in her recovery, then she could see to something about Yama. For now she had to just deal with it.
Peri Winkle had no idea he was holding his breath until Brigid had exited the room. Kail had acted pretty emotional, acted intensely to the situation. Could he even blame her? Peri knew how Kail took these situations, and he knew more than anything that bonds between friends would be strained. It made him think the more of the conflict that would possibly grow between he and Jewel. What would happen when Eshu would come for her in the morning?
Deep down Peri Winkle knew it wasn't like he'd ever see her again, but on some level, the actor couldn't help but look at it this way. Silently he placed a hoof on top of Jewel's tan one and gave it a squeeze, though he wondered if it was to comfort himself or her.
