Mace and Shade at the Park

Mace's eyes were only half open and himself only half awake. The summer heat had a way of doing that to you, especially in the cooling shadow of the trees. Not far off shade was prancinga round, chasing chipmunks and who knew what else.
Mace was determined to enjoy his current peace before hade came back to play another game of tag. A glance up confirmed that Shade was already on his way back. Mace groaned and rolled his eyes as he climbed to his feet. Not again...

More time passed and Mace was drifting off, with Shade sleeping at his side.
Correction: Pretending to sleep. Shade waited patiently until he was quite sure mace was asleep for good before climbing slowly to his feet. It'd been so long since he'd had a real chance of exploring Ponyville, and he hadn't seen Silence in ages!
He hurried off, intent on a new adventure.
