(from Sal. Hill) FlashFire was so tired of these dang gnats! She shook her mane hard in an effort to remove them from around her ears. In her thrashing she lost control of her pack, which fell in a mud puddle. "Great...this town is starting off well." After draging her pack out of the muck and throwing it back on her withers, she stepped into the town proper and looked about. The town was riddled with ponies...all looking sideways at her and no one saying a word. "Hello...." she whispered? "Anyone help a girl out?"  ((is it okay to post pics every now and again?)) |

Just as FlashFire stabilized herself again, a purple stallion walked out of a nearby bookstore, nodding over his shoulder with a polite smile to the owner, who was terribly familiar with the bookworm. As he swung his head back around to face forward, he bumped into the smoky mare's shoulder.
"Oh," Kimono took a step back and smiled shyly, "I'm so sorry, I didn't realize anyone was right there." Emerald green eyes met those of Flashfire for a second. The stallion, being one for details, immediately took in the mare's tired and frustrated appearance. Hesitating for a second, he cleared his throat and asked quietly, "Would you.. like some help?"

Flash was beginning to think no one in this dang town was going to even say hello when suddenly a large purple stallion rammed into her. She turned to curse at him when she caught those sweet green eyes...she sank into them. With a shake she tossed aside her mane and was shocked to hear him as if she needed help.
"Oh please!" She almost whined...then thought better of it, she was tired, not three. "I just got to town and I am tired and in desperate need of directions to a place to stay."
She looked up at him with begging eyes. Then noticed the store he stepped out of...gosh could it be true? A stallion with a handsome face and a brain? Wow.

The purple stallion nodded and tucked his newest book into the leather bag around his neck which hung by his shoulder. Not about to forget his manners, the shy stallion introduced himself, "Welcome to Ponyville, then!" He smiled, pink tugging at his purple cheeks, "My name is Kimono, by the way."
Slightly mesmerized by the mare's fiery hair, Kimono thought about where he might direct her as far as finding a living arrangement.
"There's the Black Dragon Inn," He started, stepping away from the doorway to allow another pony to enter, "If you're looking for somewhere to stay just for a few nights. But if you're planning on staying here for a while...?" His emerald eyes asked the question, "The Nursery often accepts homeless ponies, at least until they get on their feet." He thought for a moment, shifting his weight. "I'm currently residing in the Castle.. there ARE a lot of rooms there. I could.. show you around. if you like."

Flash had begun to think this was not the town for her...but when she thought about it....well, maybe it wasn't so bad.
"I am so sorry...how rude of me! My name is FlashFire...but please call me Flash. Kimono what a beutiful and exotic name...gee. Oh well.. OH! Ummm the castle? Really? Anyone can stay there? I would love to see it. I think I may stay on for awhile,"
God, she thought What a moron...stuttering like a foal.
She smiled and stepped back to give the handsome stallion some room to lead the way.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Flash," Kimono said quietly, looking only slightly uncomfortable. While he was polite, he certainly wasn't suave or charming. One of the only mares he had ever been involved with disappeared shortly after the Rainbow of Darkness battle.
Ummm the castle? Really? Anyone can stay there? I would love to see it. I think I may stay on for awhile,"
Kimono smiled slightly at the excited mare, relaxing a bit more as she displayed a friendly nature. "There are a lot of rooms, so I would imagine that it has vacancy for others," He said thoughtfully. "I was actually on my way back there myself, if you'd like to come with me," He asked. Once he was aware she was interested, he stood where he was and said shyly, "Ladies first," as he extended a purple feathered hoof briefly.

Flash Laughed at how gallient the stallion was being. She also laughed internally at herself..she had been walking alone too long. This stallion was being kind...not hitting on her.
She couldn't wait to see inside that big pink castle..so she set off with a hop. She caught herself almost skipping with the idea of a room with a view...she hoped the open rooms here up high in the castle...she should have been born with wings!
She looked back and saw that Kimono was still standing with one hoof out!
"Well, come on slowpoke!" She shouted to him!

Kimono blushed slightly and trotted to catch up with the fiery mare. Walking alongside her, he stayed quiet for most of the walk, being the type who would rather watch and observe than delve into the spotlight.
