Peri Winkle shook his head at a complete loss. How could such a thing happen? The scooter was right there. Just outside the store. Jewel and he were just a few feet away from it, and someone still had managed to take it! It filled the young actor with a surprising feeling of helplessness that he could be robbed so easily in broad daylight.
But then, it could have also been a result of leaving his keys in the ignition.
The white stallion inwardly fumed, while darting his good eye around for any sight of the scooter. True, it wasn't the only model that was available to the producers, so it wasn't that it was a complete tragedy it was gone. It was still besides the point, though, as Peri knew how many times over he'd be dead for having to reveal to his boss this little incident.
"Any luck?," he responded to the yellow peg as she returned from asking the cop for help.
----
"Far from Ponyville? Maybe....Course?," Coon listed off, "Flutter Valley? Hibiscus Platue? Friendship Gardens? Anything ring a bell?"
What was she doing? Of course they wouldn't. Star had already stated she didn't know, so there was no point in ranting off various far away places. The masculine mare shook her head, as if to negate the notion even more. It was then, that Coon's every darting gold eyes detected the couple nearing their location.
No way!! Gem Butt and his lovely luggage! Her mouth salivated as she looked swiftly from Peri Winkle's behind to the necklace around Jewel's neck. If Coon were a dog, she'd probably thump her leg madly as if one had scratched the right spot. It was all Coon could do to not drool openly.
Coon turned her face back to Star Dasher. She had better chances conning those two, perhaps a little more fun. "Could you hold on, I've got to check up on two friends." With that, she sauntered over confidently.

"Any luck?,"
Jewel looked Peri in the eye with an expression indicative of thinking about heads rolling. Particularly, a certain completely oblivious police pony.
"His advice isn't worth the plastic his badge is made of," She said with a small laugh, having been through the ringer with Moe before in even more serious situations.
Before she could open her mouth to speak again, purple eyes widened at the sight of the scooter, PERI'S scooter, careening at break-neck speed down the street. She didn't even notice the masculine mare headed in their direction..

Breezie was panicked, and her life flashed before her eyes.
Playing outside with her friends...buying My Little Horsies...playing with the Horsies...buying some more...
Meh. No regrets there. But those very friends she had left behind when she ran away from home.
Oh, who am I kidding? "HEEEEELLLLLLLLLP!!!"

Peri Winkle's eyes widened to the same extent Jewel's had. "Now I know what I looked like this morning," he mumbled before breaking out into an all out sprint. Peri Winkle was, by no means an athlete in a sense of sports, but being a daytime star required him to keep in the pristine of shape. Despite Breezie being the one to steal his scooter, Peri very well couldn't arrest someone if they were dead.
Besides, he'd been in the same situation with the scooter earlier that morning. And crashing on that thing was probably not as fun as it sounded.
Not being fast enough to catch up, but maintaining a decent distance behind it, Peri took his chances and leapt, hoping to grab hold of the scooter.
Conveniently for both Breezie and Peri, Coon did a little bit of heroics herself, though her motives were in question. The gray mare threw the stick in hoof towards the tires of the scooter, in which the stick was swept up and into the scooter itself. By no means did it stop the vehicle, but it did slow the gears, resulting in Peri achieving a grip of the scooter. With swift movements, he grabbed Breezie and let go of the vehicle, falling, and rolling with the other in his arms.
Under the cover of the mayhem, Coon casually went by Jewel, effortlessly removing her necklace and walking away calmly.

Whoa - I have NO IDEA what just happened.
Breezie opened her eyes and looked around - at about the same she heard the horrible noise of the scooter hitting the edge of the foutain. She was on the ground next to a white stallion, and while she couldn't see what had happened she wasn't sure she wanted to. She just hoped to death that the scooter hadn't ended up in the fountain.
At least I'm not dead... Then the horrible thought crossed her mind that the white stallion may have been the one that owned the scooter. The voice in her head was apparently back, because at that moment it said, Oh yeah - you're definitely dead.

The golden pegasus held her breath as her beau performed a rather heroic deed. As soon as she saw the pair were safe, though the scooter lay broken in quite a few pieces, wheels spinning in the air, the pegasus let out a huge sigh of relief. In a calm manner, she trotted over to the actor, to make sure he was safe.
Just before opening her mouth, the mare halted mid-stride. Something was wrong. With a trembling hoof, she reached to her chest.
Her amulet was gone
The single most important thing she owned. Gone. Her connection to the spirit of her eldest teacher-mage. Gone. Panic flooded her senses, but the pegasus demanded to herself to keep her head.
She spun around, scanning the ground like a hawk. Nothing. Then, out of the corner of her eye, that masculine mare was headed off down the street. Baring her teeth and rearing up powerfully on her hind legs, the pegasus yelled, "THEIF!"
"THEIF!!!"
And with that, galloped full force after Coon Skin.
Moe came upon the scooter scene, and looked at Peri and Breezie. "I don't know where she's going.. the scooter is right here."

"THEIF!"
Breezie winced at the mare's words, not knowing that they weren't directed at her.

Coon's pace began to quicken just slightly. However, her mind was in a panicked frenzy. To get tackles by a sexy mare and go to jail, or not to be tackled by a sexy mare and not go to jail. That is the question...
Coon half calmly glanced over her shoulder and met the crazed look on the other's approaching form. Naturally, being quite manish, Coon was somewhat immune to a woman's warning, and angry faces. It wasn't until Jewel was nearly on the back her hooves that Coon's brain finally triggered the natural survival instinct.
CRAAAAAAAAP! I don't wanna be skinnnnned!! The gray, masculine mare busted out into a full barreled sprint. Naturally, being used to running quite a bit, Coon managed a tiny distance. There was no point in hiding that she'd been caught on some level, so running was the best option.
Peri looked up from the cobble stoned street, his real eye meeting Breezie's form, while his fake eye lay a foot a way, having popped out in result of their roll. The actor swiped the glass eye up and began to rub it clean against his fur. "Are you all right?," was Peri's first response. Safety first, punishment later.
Although, Jewel's outburst did divert his attention slightly. Peri Winkle searched until spotting the gray mare. Suddenly, he recalled the beat up weirdo who'd asked him for his cutie mark jewel during the last battle. Peri's expression turned soar. "That runt..." he muttered to himself, standing up to dust himself off.
He then eyes Moe as he just stood there. "Well?!," PEri snapped, thrusting an causing hoof in Coon and Jewel's direction. "Get that thief!!"

As the road turned slightly downhill, the pegasus leapt into the air, climbing effortlessly into the sky until she was directly over the sprinting Coon. How could I have not noticed? The mare demanded of herself, pumping her legs and wings faster, How could I have NOT NOTICED?
"Drop it now," she called from the sky, "And I promise not to kill you!"
---
"Get that thief!!"
"What theif?" Moe asked, clearly, and ever so typically, puzzled. "The scooter's right there."

"Different thief, different situation!, " Peri attempted his best at the quickest, and hopefully clearist explanation.
Coon would promptly deny it later, but she literally 'eeped' in an almost feminine fashion. Again, her mind scrambled for a resulting action to Jewel's threat. The thief could either drop the jewelry and live to a nice old age. Or, she could die and leave poor Stokely to weap alone and suffer the cruel world by herself.
Seeing her options running out swiftly, Coon had a sudden mocking urge to grab something and pretend to hold it hostage. It was amusing enough to sooth her panicked brain, resulting in her slowing to a hault. Coon could handle this. All she had to do was make sure the other had her necklace, then run like hell, get her camping gear, and book it.

Jewel circled like a hawk over the theif, gradually getting lower. She was planning her dive when the amulet began to hum softly, and grow warmer. It continued to increase in temperature until a soft glow surrounded it. Purple and gold swirled at the fire opal's center. Briefly, a ghostly white face with solid eyes crossed before Coon Skin.
-----
"Different thief, different situation!, "
Moe blinked. "Can you describe the incident to me, Citizen?" He asked, retrieving his notepad full of doodles and a pencil.

"Are you all right?"
"Umm...yeah, I am", she said cautiously - Breezie was not sure if this was the owner of the scooter she had "borrowed" and ruined. She forced a smile. "Thank you."
Then she heard Moe's remark and put two and two together. This stallion had complained to the police about a scooter she had basically stolen, so either he was the owner or the mare he'd been with was. Where had that mare gotten to, anyway?
She couldn't help but gape as he popped the glass eye into his empty socket. Figuring the situation was already awkward enough to kill a mare, she decided to ignore her curiosity.
"Look, I'm really sorry - " She gestured towards where Jewel had gone " - what exactly's going on?" Breezie was still avoiding looking at the scooter crash site.

Peri's face scrunched up with impatients. "That gray stallion took something from that yellow peg, my guess is her necklace.," Peri tried to keep his cool. However, he ultimately figured that Moe would be unreliable.
In a leap of faith, Peri turned to Breezie, "Come on and help me, I want an explanation about my scooter after this mayhem, and you're not leaving my sight." Promptly, he waited for the other to stand and follow towards Jewel.
Coon nearly jumped out of her wits as she'd seen the white figure of Prohpecy, roughly stiring memories of the 'ghosty' incident almost two years ago. Out of this momentary weakness, she dropped the amulet with a thud to the ground, stepping back out of shock. You just HAD TO steal a cursed, magical pendant, HADN'T you?!

Breezie gave a little salute with a front hoof as she leapt up, and took off down the street full-speed in Jewel's direction. She was still a little dizzy, but hoped that it didn't show when she ran.
Then she saw the ghost - it must have been a ghost - and stopped in her tracks.

Seeing the shiny silver amulet fall to the ground, Jewel folded her wings and dove toward the ground. She opened her large golden wings just in time to slow her fall enough for her to land safely.
In a swift movement, she retrieved the amulet and replaced it around her neck. The fire opal stone inside the silver casing swirled with gold and purple, but was now cool to the touch. Jewel stood authoritatively, staring Coon straight in her masked eyes. In a purposely eerie manner, unblinking, she spoke in a low voice, "You shouldn't take things that don't belong to you."
---
Moe, highly confused by the situation, replaced his notepad and glanced momentarily at a shop owner giving out free samples of cinnamon rolls.
D'oh! Wait! There's some crime or something.. going on.
The blue stallion assumed his best (but hardly intimidating) assertive face, and in a somewhat shuffling trot, followed the small group of ponies headed away from town.
