Razz wandered around the square, quietly circling the fountain as he looked around. He felt distant from himself. Almost as if he'd already left Ponyville and was just a shadow on watch.
I will call them, he thought, to no one in particular. I will call. They will hear. We will save the rainbow. Everything will be OK. He squeezed his eyes tight and reached out for the champions, not knowing where they were, but trusting himself to find them, wherever they were.

Upstairs in the apartment above her theater, Roxanne was just dozing off for a nap when suddenly a presence in her mind jolted her awake. What the Hamlet?! she thought, whipping her head up to scan the room. There was no one there.
With wide eyes she continued to glance around, as if looking harder would suddenly explain why the inside of her head had tickled. And whoa!, there it was again - it was - like colors. Colors?
Brow furrowed, she finally caught sight of the blue mark on the inside of her ankle, and everything became clear. "Of course... the bloody rainbow..." she said out loud. A little electric jolt of blue twinged her mind. Roxy grinned despite herself. "Sorry, sorry.
"All right - " She closed her eyes as if that would help her concentrate, and opened herself to the waves that Razzaroo was sending out. The town square... I'm there, baby, she replied, and she galumphed down the stairs, locking the door behind her and trotting down the street.
[[That's just setting things up... once more people check in, Roxanne can join the party. : ) ]]

Razz felt himself pouring outward into the streets, down the alleys, and into the homes of his friends. He could just barely sense some of them as he wandered through, directing his attention, drawn to the most vibrant blurbs of color as he searched. His heart raced. It was a wonderful feeling, he realized, touching the edges of all the town with his mind. There was so much love here. He could not help the tears in his eyes. So much love. Yet so much pain as well.

((Kimono's just gonna be in the background here, as part of something coming up later..))
Kimono's head hung slightly as he walked through the streets of Ponyville. He didn't feel quite like himself today, and didn't know why. Purple feathered hooves seemed just a little heavier than usual, and large nostrils didn't feel so large.
All around him, life seemed as it had been. Store owners welcomed in their customers, talking about the latest sales and new products. Ponies strolled around, a few sneezing, no doubt because of the arrival of summer, and thus of allergies. Strings of greetings and gossip floated on passing breezes as ponies conversed during the pleasant afternoon.
Things should have felt right, but somehow, something itched in the back of the stallion's mind. It almost felt like the calm before the storm, or the peace before some kind of drama.
With a sigh, Kimono sat on one of the benches in the square, muttering to himself, "Great.. I've given myself a headache, AND it's probably going to storm..."

Peri Winkle moved faster than Jewel in his task to follow after Razz. The actor wasn't quite sure why, really. On a gut instinct, he knew crystal clear that this spot would probably be the last time he saw Jewel. Perhaps in a long time, his heart heavy with the possibility of possible never. He wasn't in trying to dive head first into that farewell...but he wasn't ready to drag it out. It was painfully so all ready.
He sighed coming to a stop beside Razzaroo, and nodded to the arrivals that had appeared, then sneezed after the last nod, half managing to turn away from them before it escaped. "Uh, my apologies...must be that season." He sniffled, whether from nose tickling or emotions were anyone's guess.

Razz shook himself and opened his eyes, only just realizing how tightly he had been squeezing them. The power rushed out of him suddenly and he felt dizzy. He wanted to sit down. With with some effort, he wobbled his way to the fountain edge and sat down on the cool stone rim. The sound of the water was in his ears, drowning out his thoughts as he focused on it. His throat was dry, but he did not have any desire to drink.

The golden pegasus followed last, rhythmically stepping in an almost stoic fashion along the road to Ponyville. Her wings were tucked back, and she expertly concealed the churning emotions from surfacing on her face. Jewel felt alert, sensitive to the world around her. Whether it was part of the Rainbow's effect, or her own anticipation, she was unsure. The mare tried her best to save this moment, and the following few moments she had left with life as it was.
Tucked away in this memory would be the cool breeze weaving through her mane and tail, coursing between the feathers of her wings. The sight of how green the grass had grown, and even how the compacted dirt felt under her hooves. If what she had perceived in her vision was true.. it would be long before her hooves felt solid ground again.
But the Rainbow was with her, part of her, now. She wore its mark on her forehead, the purple starred eye where a unicorn’s horn would sprout. In a way, it was this sense of duty which drove her steps forward.
However, the pegasus was far from eager to fulfill this duty. She felt the weight of her heart as if it were made of lead, and might fall unceremoniously to her hooves at any second. Glancing up to the handsome white stallion ahead confirmed these feelings, and struck a pang of pain somewhere deep inside.
As the group came to a halt near the fountain in the town’s square, Jewel walked up along the side of Peri’s good eye. Without saying a word, she pressed her cheek against his white neck, and closed her eyes.

Peri Winkle felt a shudder of guilty pleasure slide down his spine as Jewel had laid her face against his own. He had forgotten that she still cared for him as much as she did during Roux's company that her actions filled him with some form of relief and content. Then there was the horrible realization she would have to leave, all, over, again.
Words hadn't even been exchanged yet, and not all the champions had fully gathered, but Peri felt cornered and afraid. He wanted to hold his stuffed animal, his Jewel, for comfort. He wanted to go hide under his bed, or run far far away with her, lock her up, and clutch her tightly to his madly thumping chest, for only she could keep it from exploding inside him, or from bursting out of his body and flying away. He wanted to cry out to the world 'She's mine! Don't take her from me!,' but all Peri could do was almost agressively rub his cheek back across Jewels.
An inhale of breath, and the white stallion eternalized her pure aroma, that woods scent she carried from sleeping outdoors. Shakily he released that breath and closed his eyes. It was too hard to say goodbye...

Peri's strongly returned affection easily made a lump swell in the pegasus's throat. She kept her eyes closed, afraid to meet the eye of he who she loved so much.. It would be more than enough to cause that lump to dissolve into tears.
Still trying her best to put on a brave face, Jewel refrained from opening her mouth to speak. She didn't feel her voice would be as strong as she wanted it to be. And she wanted to be strong for Peri. So instead, she gently pulled on a small hunk of the actor's azure mane, signaling to follow her as she walked to the opposite side of the fountain from where Razz was collecting himself.
As the pair sat, Jewel pulled herself close to the stallion, nuzzling her face into his chest, enjoying his presence for all it was worth. Her mind wandered to who she'd have to talk to, to share things with, and how she'd stay warm at night. Then she fled from those haunting thoughts as quickly as she could.

Roxanne felt a tension in the air as she approached the square. Two ponies stood close together, and the air was still with a seriousness that made her heart heavy, just a little. Another one of these colorful adventures, she thought with dry amusement. There was definitely something big going on.
She had the feeling that she would have to abandon her usual bravado more than once before this was over. Solemnity always made her twitchy. But she could deal. Her curiosity was piqued, and the blue mark on her hoof tingled.
She breathed deeply as she stepped toward the fountain, and closed her eyes for a moment. When she opened them, a flash of blue swirled with the green, and she felt her lungs and throat swell slightly... Charisma was with her, should she need it.
She nodded and winked to Razz but decided silence was still her best option, lest she say something awkward. She dipped her muzzle in the water and took a quick drink, for lack of anything better to do.

Peri Winkle was momentarily pulled from his thoughts as he felt the tug on his hair. It was gentle, and if Peri imagined hard enough it could've been playfull too, but doing so would only pool his hopes up.
He followed her slowly and took to her side on the fountain's railing. Absently, his foreleg wrapped around Jewel, pulling her closer to him. Again he smelled that usual smell on her, and he merely focused his thoughts on simply breathing in and remembering Jewel for how she was that moment.

After many moments crept by, Jewel slowly pulled her head away from Peri's chest, and looked at him with big purple eyes. She half smiled, hoping he might smile too. Her eyes were slightly glazed, as she seemed lost in thought. The mare kept contact for a few moments, wheels turning in her mind. "Peri.."
Then, she dropped her head and shook it vigorously. Little by little, the silver necklace inched its way up her neck, and with a last flip, she caught the sliding pendant in her mouth. The opal hummed with energy, causing her teeth to tingle, though they only touched the chain.
Jewel then slid the ancient necklace over Peri's head, allowing the pendant to fall against his chest. A very faint scar in the shape of the necklace's pendant showed for the first time on the pegasus's chest, and with the help of the Rainbow, she fought the urge to snatch the amulet back.
With a heavy smile, and eyes full of both love and sadness for the one before her, Jewel sat up straight with an air of confidence. Very softly, she asked, "Think you could keep it safe for me?"

Peri blinked once, twice, and then a third time. He eyed the necklace with sudden surprise, not just from the fact Jewel had just handed it to her, but from the way the metal felt warm and not cold as it should have been. It was almost as if she had given him a little piece of herself, and that piece was heartwarming.
"Are you sure? I mean, you never...," he trailed back, before shaking his head in dismissal. "Of course I'll keep it safe. You won't see any masked thieves coming after this on my watch."
He chuckled at that, briefly forgetting the moment and recalling the chase they'd had earlier. "You know, I feel a little bad about not having anything to give you...uh...well" He blinked his glass eye. "Not unless you want one of these?"
His voice sounded normal and relaxed, something that easily came to him through his acting. Though the degree of that forced calm was also as much a surprise as the necklace.

"Not unless you want one of these?"
Jewel smiled slightly, shaking her head, "No.." She replied, moving in closer to him and assuming the position she had before, but wrapped her golden wings around him as well, "I want one of these."
As the pegasus pressed herself close to him, the amulet began to hum again, between their chests. Jewel moved her muzzle back and forth against Peri's neck as she held her cheek against him.
"I love you.. you know that?"

Peri's lips pulled into what was probably the most dumb, love struck face anyone had ever seen. He chuckled almost goofily, before mumbling an almost incoherent, "Uhhhh yeah?"
The actor swiftly recovered, returning the affectionate token and rubbing his muzzle with hers.
"I love you too," he tickled softly into her ear, "Do you know just how tempted I am to leap into the fountain and scream it from my lungs?"
