In the shade of a tall tree, green with leaves and blossoms that came with the spring, lay a ghostly pale stallion with a silk top hat sitting over his eyes. He slept gracefully, not snoring, or making any sound whatsoever, his snowy white chest rising and falling with each breath. His midnight black hair fluttered about him every time he exhaled. He looked so peaceful, sleeping under that tree on a warm spring's day.
A swift breeze whistled past him and his silk hat toppled off. Ville Valo woke with a start. His cold grey eyes sweeped the ground and rested on his hat. He reached out a feathered hoof and picked it up, dusting the dirt and leaves from it.
"Stupid hat." He muttered, but he pressed it back onto his head again. He felt empty without his hat on.
Ville looked around the park tiredly, the sunlight stinging his dark eyes that were rimmed with eyeliner. He rubbed his cheek and blinked a few times.

Crystal Crown was walking aimlessly. She usually walked aimlessly, or at least seemed to. She had again forgotten that she should have been at her shop, opening it for the day. Instead, she walked through the park - which she thought was a forest - listening to the imaginary fairy at the corner of her ear. She was whispering to Crown secrets and she listened.
She didn't notice the stallion as she neared in to his tree.

Ville stretched his legs and gave one last look around before he planned to go back to sleep. But it was then he noticed the pretty mare walking by. He smiled at her and looked her up and down. Of course, he couldn't resist checking out the females in this town, he was a stallion, and a promiscuos rockstar as well. But he did nothing however, but look at the mare with a tilted head, a smirk folded out over his face.

Crystal Crown was suddenly spooked by a little snake - real one this time - coiling through the grass right in front of her. She screamed and stumbled back. The snake stopped and raised its head. To Crown it looked as though its eyes were glowing a fierce, angry red and it was opening its gaping maw, the fangs glimmering in the light.
Crown couldn't move. She was frozen with fear. This would be the end of her! The snake readied itself for strike.

The stallion's black eyes followed the mare's every move, taking in every curve of her body. Suddenly the gorgeous black eyes fell on something unexpected - A snake.
Now, Ville may be a brave stallion, but even brave stallions have something they're afraid of. And in this stallion's case, it was snakes. He froze - But then came to realise that leaving the mare to handle the snake alone was not exactly something that a stallion should do. He sprang into action - shaking only slightly - taking off his top hat as he did so.
Valo edged nearer and nearer to the snake until he was as close as his legs would let him go. Then, as quick as a flash, he shoved his top hat over the snake before it could even think to bite him. As he held the silk hat down, he could feel the snake racketing around inside. He was ashamed to feel a drip of cold sweat run down his forehead.

Crystal Crown, for her behalf, didn't really see any of this. Or to be more exact, she saw her own version of it. To her Ville appeared as a handsome, strong knight who slammed down his helmet over the snake, holding it still bravely. Crown's eyes were very wide as she got shakily up. The light glistened on the snowy white fur of her knight, and the silver cross over his chest had to be a clear sign that he was indeed a knight. Of what order, Crown could not be certain, but she was sure he was a noble stallion indeed.
"Oh!" she cried softly, ever as a whisper, and took a step forward, planting then one hoof over her chest. She was wearing her pointed hat and the cloak that flowed about her in the wind. Her eyes glistened as she looked intently to Ville. "You are so brave, my lord!"

Almost immediately Valo raised a hoof to his head (The other hoof still firmly holding the hat in place.) and rubbed it in a confused sort of way. He had been called many things, even a God a few times (Sex God, Rock God... These things get yelled at you at concerts.) but never a lord. Perhaps this mare was into role play? If he had had his hat on his would have swept it off his head in a low bow, but unfortunatly his head was imprisoning a rather angry snake. He winced a little as in his mind's eye he saw the snake ripping apart the hat from the inside with it's fangs.
Ville looked at the mare for a moment, then suddenly stood up from where he was crouching, put his foot on the hat, spread his wings wide and was just about to say something in old english when the hat wobbled violently under his foot, and the words managed to get stuck in his throat as he froze once again.

Crystal Crown, of course, saw only the heroic pose Ville was attempting for. To her, he succeeded. Her eyes went very wide at the sight of his magnificent wings spreading out around him. She sighed and smiled dreamily.
"Should you not do something to the snake, my lord?" she suggested with a very faint, admiring voice. A pegasus pony, like in the ancient fables! Yes, perhaps he was from the Great Order of the Gods - maybe he was a Knight of the Gods. Yes, that would make sense. He was there to rescue her and take her to his castle. "Perhaps you could carry us both to safety with your magnificent wings, and we might leave the snake far below."

Ville had to admit he was reluctant to leave his hat. He eyed the hat carefully, then acted - Flapping his great wings he lifted off the ground, kicked his hat off of the ground with his hoof and caught it, swiftly putting it back on his head before he then swooped over to Crystal Crown and swept her off her feet and into the air, holding her like any great knight holds his fair maiden.
Still slightly surprised with what he had done, he hung in the air for just a moment. Then he looked at Crystal Crown.
"Where to now, my fair maiden?"

Crystal Crown smiled, rather overwhelmed by the courage of the stallion. She pressed her head against Ville's chest and wrapped one hoof around his neck.
"Ohh, anywhere you desire, my lord," she said with a dreamy voice.
