Wing Song watched Gib, eyes wide, as she stomped off to the cottage. "Well, I wouldn't want to be a burden, really..."

Rogue hurried to smile to Wing Song.
"No, no, don't take her the wrong way," he said. "She's just a bit of a hermit, and tends to... well, overreact. In truth she likes company. She just hates to admit it."
He motioned them to walk to a set of garden chairs and table in a very beautiful place next to some apple trees beside the house.
"Please, do come sit down." He looked curiously at the sleeping foal. "You seem awfully young to be a mother," he said meaningfully to Wing Song. "Is this perhaps your younger brother?"

When Rogue mentioned Wing Song being Mookie's mother, the mare felt herself blushing again. "Oh - well, goodness no. I'm not his mother - we're not actually related. You see, I was eating lunch with Medley - " She waved a hoof at her friend. " - and all of a sudden I spotted him at the steps of the Inn. He's very young, and we're trying to find his parents but we really can't get any information from him."

Medley smiled at Gib and Rogue as politely as she could, "My name is Medley." Her British accent was slightly thicker with her nervousness.
She was "rawther" unconfortable with Gib's cold manner. Is she always like this? she wondered.
Medley quickly took Rogue's invitation to sit down, she still was tired after the walk here. If I ever get back to Dream Valley, I'm going to kill my trainer. He says I'm in such great shape!
After hearing Wing Song's story, Medley nodded in agreement. "We have no idea where he came from or who his parents are. We saw him wink today--just like a unicorn--which made me wonder if he winked here by accident. But, he is so young, I could be wrong."

All the talking and moving about began to wake Mookie up again. He grunted and moaned before tossing his mane and blinking open his eyes. He was in a new place yet again...he sighed and looked up. There were now two stallions...but he did not know either one. Did they find his parents? Could they be here? With a leap he jumped from Wing Song's back and galloped into the cottage...the door swinging shut behind him. "Momma? MOMMA?" he shouted. "Dadda? Momma? *sniff sniff*" Then the door shut and he was inside the dark cottage, all alone. He started to cry.

After seeing Mookie's strange behaviour, Medley leapt off her chair and flew after Mookie. She wondered if he was frightened with all the new sights and sounds here.
She gracefully landed in the cottage and looked around for Mookie. Spotting him crying, she cantered up next to him.
Trying to sound worried and cheeful at the same time, she said, "What's the matter, buddy?"

Rogue was just about to say something to Wing Song and Medley - and yes indeed he was appreciating the beauty of the green pegasus as well - when Mookie suddenly woke up and galloped into the cottage. Rogue grimaced and glanced at Tramp. Tramp drew his ears back. Oh-oh. Well, all they could hope was that Gib liked foals better than adult ponies. Tramp started off after Mookie, trotting rather hurriedly.
Inside the cottage, Gib was startled by the foal's shouting. The glowing little sphere that had come out of her hair to float around her snuck back among her tresses, letting out a sizzling angry sound. But Gib was overcome with worry. It was a foal's voice, and it sounded scared - and then it started to cry. She remembered being scared herself. She remembered wandering all alone in the woods, with no one there to take care of him, until she had met Rogue.
She left the juice and the rest on the table and hurried towards the crying, suddenly forgetting all about the fact that she wanted no strangers in her house. As she saw Mookie, she at first didn't notice Medley at all. Instead, she hurried to him, a kind smile on her face.
"There, there," she said with a gentle voice, attempting to soothe his crying. "There's nothing to be afraid of here. Oh, certainly, it's a little dark..." She glanced back over her shoulder at the light switch, and felt a twinge against her neck, and suddenly the lights went on, and the cottage was bright again. She looked at Mookie with a smile. "Now, isn't that a lot better?"

Wing Song gave a start as Mookie leapt off her back and snapped her head around to watch him run into the house. She galloped closely behind Medley, saying. "Oh no...Mookie dear? Come back - everything's alright!"

Seeing as also Wing Song left inside, Rogue followed his brother at a casual trot. They all got inside just in time to see Gib switch on the lights - without touching the switch. Rogue's eyes widened, and Tramp was startled so that he fell backwards.
"Gib! How in the world did you do that?" he exclaimed.

Gibberish only now realised there were lots of other people in the cottage besides her and the foal. The tips of her ears grew red and she looked in all ways flustered.
"Err... do what?" she asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
Tramp opened his mouth to repeat his question, when Rogue laid a hoof on his shoulder and shook his head ever so slightly. Tramp frowned, but understood his twin's meaning and didn't continue his interrogation.
Instead, Rogue stepped forth and bent over to the foal.
"Hello there, little one," he said kindly. "Now, calm down, there's nothing here to be afraid of. Look, I'll do a little magic just for you." He glanced over at a glass apple in a basket on a table, set there as an ornament, and his horn started to glow. The apple drifted up into the air and started hovering above the foal's head, going in slow circles.

Although it was for the foal, Wing Song couldn't help following the floating apple with her eyes as though in some sort of trance. This was what Tramp had been talking about - and it was true! But then, why shouldnt it be?
The mare moved over closer to Mookie and patted him gently on the head, both to comfort him and to distract herself.

Gib couldn't help but smile to Tramp as he floated the apple in the air. She was relaxed as she heard no one else ask about the light switch. Inwardly she scolded the sphere for doing such business without her say so. It sizzled a little within her hair, but gave no outward sign of itself.
Gib was suddenly feeling more jovial towards the other mares. Perhaps it was because of their concern for the little foal, perhaps her mind had yet again turned on a hidden, mad reason of its own, but nevertheless she smiled to them, slightly less nervous than usually.
"Princess," she said to Wing Song, feeling most drawn to her since she had been the one to carry the foal. "Would you help me with the juice? I'm having trouble getting all the cups and the can to the garden by myself. I'm sure Rogue and... eh, others," she couldn't remember if she had heard the green pegasus's name, "will look after the little one."

((Just wanted to make this perfectly clear - the only reason she hasn't made a big deal of the whole lights-turning-on-by-themselves thing is because I was slow to post and she was still rushing inside at the time. )) "Oh, of course!" Wing Song said with a warm smile towards Gib. "Thank you so much for letting us into your home like this - we actually came because Tramp had been telling us so much about you and Rogue." In truth he had only been talking about Rogue, but she didn't want Gib to feel left out.

Taking Gib's orders, Medley looked down at Mookie and said, "How about we go back outside and play a game?"
