At first Wing Song felt odd being off the sturdy ground she was so used to, but then was filled with total calm. Letting her eyes close, she felt the wind and was not uncomfortable with the height as she'd been in the tree earlier that day, or in the many flying attempts she'd made in her lifetime. Forgetting Medley, Gib, the stallions, and even Mookie, she was only aware of the present and the air all around her. The feeling was exhilerating and the mare held her breath, knowing that the moment would end all too soon. ((Well, Wing Song's life is no longer meaningless. Except now y'all realize that she's gonna be doubly depressed when it's over, right? Ooh, I love the drama!))

After giving Wing Song a few rounds in the air, Rogue started to lower her down, very gently, until her feet touched the ground. As they did, Rogue trotted up to her and looked at her, concern in his eyes.
"So, how was it?" he asked. He wasn't really worried, but he rather liked the princess, so he chose to give her the "concerned stallion" impression. She seemed like the nice filly who would like that sort of thing.

Wing Song took a moment to find her voice, before saying, "Wonderful." She realized that Rogue seemed concerned, and couldn't help but think how sweet he was being((sucker )).

Rogue smiled and came closer, nudging her in a friendly manner.
"We can take it again anytime you like."

"Mm hmm..." Wing Song found herself not paying much attention - her head was still reeling, and her gaze had drifted upwards, to the clouds... ((Cruddy post and you had to wait forever for it. Sorry - I've been uninsprired and tired(rhyme not intended) lately. Again, very sorry. ))

Mookie had finished his apple, and watched the nice lady flying about above him. His eyes were wide with wonder as he looked at Wing Song, not quite understanding it was Rogue who had made her fly. In his small foal mind he figured that if Wing Song could fly, maybe he could do it too. He concentrated hard and jumped. After a brief moment in the air, he fell flat on his belly on the ground and hit his nose to the grass. It hurt. His eyes filled up with tears and his muzzle began to tremble.
"Waa!"

Medley had been watching her friend fly when she thought she saw Mookie jump. After he had fallen, she dashed towards the sobbing baby pony and pulled him close to her.
"It's all right," she cooed, "Not all little ponies can fly, but they always grow up to be their own special little pony."
That sounds so cheesy! But I hope it makes him feel at least a little better, she thought.

Mookie looked at Medley, his eyes still filled up with tears. He smiled a little to her words though he couldn't quite understand what the nice lady was trying to tell him. He showed her his hoof.
"Ow-ow," he said quietly.
Gibberish had got worried over Mookie's injury at once and was now hovering all over him.
"Goodness! Did you scratch it? Maybe I should get some water and bandages, we can clean it right up and tie it down. I don't see a scratch, though. Oh!" Her eyes widened. "What if he broke his leg?"
"Nah," Rogue said and waved it off with a hoof. "He looks all right, he just took a little tumble." He smiled down to Mookie. "You're fine, aren't you, scamp?"
Mookie looked up at the strange stallion hesitantly. It wasn't daddy. Where was his daddy? His eyes started to well up with tears again. He wanted his daddy!
[[ooh, I got to get some of my guys off of this thread! It gets too cumbersome to write for four ponies at once!]]

((Oh cha. I usually avoid my own chars at all costs. )) Wing Song snapped out of her little trance and hurried over to where the two other mares were already hovering over Mookie. She looked hesitantly at Rogue, then back at Mookie. She was about to ask him if he was sure his leg would be alright when she saw that he was starting to cry again. She hurried into the little gathering around the foal and, since Medley was already hugging him, patted his hoof. "It's okay, Mookie...does your leg still hurt?"

Medley got worried when new tears began to fill Mookie's eyes. His leg seemed fine; there were no visible injuries to it.
"There, there," she said as she caressed his mane, "It's all right; it's going to be okay."
She began to sing a calming lullaby softy, just like her mother used to do when she got "owies" and "boo-boos."

Tramp suddenly realised that the sun was high and he had an appointment to keep with Fluttershy. And he was almost late! He looked at everyone present.
"Oh, I... I'm afraid I have to go," he said. "I have an... appointment."
Rogue looked at his brother and waved a hoof.
"Yeah, go ahead." He grinned. "I'll handle the girls."
Gib glanced at Rogue and shoved him in the side, but wasn't really upset. He was used to his humour. But Tramp's departure caused her to remember her own appointment, or more correctly, the fact that she was supposed to be going to the market again.
"Oh! I have to leave as well!" she said and then looked undecisively at the guests and Rogue and her house. She was uneasy about leaving them like that.
Rogue realised her dilemma and smiled.
"Oh, I'll tend to the guests for you, Gib," he said.
Gib smiled gratefully, flashed a quick smile at the mares and then looked at Mookie.
"Bye-bye, little one," she cooed, but then turned and hurried away, to her carrot cart, to take it to the town.
[[lame but I had to get them off of the thread]]
Mookie watched her go and then looked at Rogue. He leaned on Medley.
"Dada..." he said quietly, sniffling a little. "Dadaaa-waaah!" And there he went crying again.

Rogue sighed and went closer to the little foal, nuzzling him gently by the head. "It's all right, little one," he said and then looked at Wing Song and Medley. "Where does he live?" he asked. "Perhaps it is time he rested a little." [[since this thread wasn't moving, I'm poking it a little. Either can choose to take Mookie home with them if they want, since he's mine now.]]

((I was actually waiting for Cocoa - I figured she'd want to respond, since Medley was kinda having a bonding moment with the foal. But really, we did need to get moving, so I guess I'll go ahead and take the little guy home. We can leave Medley in a position so that when Cocoa picks it back up again she's not totally lost.))
Scooping up the sniffling foal, Wing Song was looking noticeably exhausted for a moment. Who'd have known foals could be this much work? "I'll take him home with me, I suppose", she said at last. Turning to Medley, she added, "Maybe you can help with babysitting sometime - we'll have to work out a permanent place for this guy to stay eventually."
((Cont. Neighborhood - I'll probably start a new thread.)) ((Yah, short - I wanted to give Cocoa a fair chance for adopting Mookie, so I won't have WS officially adopt him yet. We'll talk it out when she gets back.))

Medley stopped singing; she was feeling both physically and emotionally drained. After giving Mookie a sweet, loving smile, she said to Wing Song, "All right, I'll see you later then. Feel free to drop him off at my place anytime if he is too much trouble. I've been babysitting foals for quite a few years."
She then turned to Rogue, "I suppose we should go home then. Thank you very much for having us, and be sure to thank Gib and Tramp for me as well."
"Feeling any better yet, love?" she said to the wimpering baby pony.
((Wow, the thread's alive again! I was beginning to wonder if I should post now that I finally have free time. I'm fine if Wing Song wants to adopt Mookie, but Medley can take hime in if you'd rather. ))

((Well I was feeling too lazy to start a new thread, so I guess we can continue a bit here. Let's just say WS hasn't left yet. I'm up for whatever you guys want to do with Mookie. Anything's fine with me...though maybe I'd feel more like playing as Wing Song if she had something making her life more interesting.))
Relieved at Medley's willingness to help with Mookie, Wing Song set Mookie down for a moment. "Say goodbye to Medley", she said gently.
