((Yes, they do. Medley asked his name in the original post.
))
Medley's gaze followed Wing Song's hoof until she spotted the Black Dragon Inn. "I'm not exactly sure if that's a good place for a little pony."
Medley's eyes shifted back to the princess, "What exactly happened over there? Was he all alone when you found him--no adults near by at all?"

(( Ooops - my bad! I modified my earlier post. )) "Well, I didn't see any adults, and he was crying...I could just tell by how he acted that he wa lost. We'll want to ask him if his parents live in the area as soon as he calms down and is good for getting information out of." ((Flashfire - WS's question for Mookie still stands, so don't feel left out or anything. Oh - and you haven't answered about her unofficially adopting him.))

Medley gazed out the window again, and thought for a minute, then said, "I agree with you there, but--"
She hesitated, "Where will he stay for the night if that stallion isn't his father or even related to the foal? I'm fine with him staying with me overnight, unless you would like him to stay with you. Or maybe we should drop him off at the Nursery. Perhaps his parents will check there, somewhat like checking the pound when one's pet runs away."

"Oh - the pound wouldn't do. I think he should go home with me tonight. We'll put up a flier when everything is sorted out for the meantime. Plus, we'll want to question that stallion. Do you think that'll settle things?"

"I certainly hope so," she said. "I truly do wonder if that stallion is related to Mookie in some way, perhaps he's his brother."
Medley looked askance at the stallion.
"I truly hope we can find his parents," she said as she looked toward the blue foal. "I know if I were his mother, I would be so, so worried."

"Yes, that is definitely a concern", Wing Song said, but a voice in the back of her head was nagging her about how she had actually grown rather fond of Mookie in the short time that she's known him. But if she was attached to him, how must his parents feel? "...Yes - that is a big concern. I think it really would be best if he spent the night at the nursery - we need to give his parents some chance. What if they live right in the area, and they check at the nursery straight away?", she sighed, worried that Mookie would be dropped off at the nursery and be whisked off by his parents with no chance to say goodbye. "Anyway, I'd say to ask Mookie if that stallion is his father, but if he is, I'd like to have a word with him first - preferably out of Mookie's earshot." Wing Song assumed that her friend would take the hint - while as a princess she had learned to respect all people's stories before getting defensive, she could get ugly where foals' welfare was involved. The mare sighed once more, also knowing that it would be best not to have to say a permanent goodbye to Mookie. "Look - I don't even know where the nursery is, so why don't you take Mookie there for me? You can meet me at my apartment in the morning and we can go over to pick him up together. In the meantime, I'll deal with that stallion over there, and at least find out if he knows where Mookie's from." ((Mookie obviously won't stay long at the nursery, so don't bother posting there. I guess you could just say your character took him there. But my suggestion would be to have Madley decide it's far too late to leave the little guy there - she could take him to her home for the night or something. I wouldn't terribly mind. ))

Tramp had been straining an ear to hear the mares' conversation. He saw them looking at him several times, and heard some mention about him perhaps being the foal's father. That got him thinking for a moment. Was it possible? Then he shook the idea from his head. Probably not. And even if he was the father, he wouldn't know about it. But he decided that this might be a good point to go make some contact. He rather liked the pegasus as well, so he figured that if the blond-haired one wouldn't take an interest, the pegasus might. He left his table and went over to the mares.
"Ehm, ladies," he said in a polite way, "I couldn't help overhearing you seem to think I know something about this lost foal. I assure you that I don't, I was only curious to see two young ladies like yourselves with a foal that is apparently not yours. But I would like to offer some assistance with the foal. It really makes me angry to think someone might have abandoned him."

Wing Song would have been angry for hearing that the stallion was eavesdropping - she was already a bit prejudiced towards him after the unpleasant reminder of the unicorn back home - but when she heard that he was interested in helping with the foal, she smiled at him. "Yes - imagine leaving a little thing like that to fend for himself - of course, it is always possible that he ran away, or got lost. Medley and I were planning on taking him to the nursery", she was careful to say "Medley and I", because she didn't need to stay behind to talk to this stallion anymore, "That way, his parents could come to claim him - but I think it wouldn't be fair, all this change." Wing Song looked from the stallion to Medley. "Do you have any other ideas?" Then she paused for a moment, and remembered her manners. "Oh - how rude of me! I am Princess Wing Song of Sapphire Kingdom - ", she gave a little bow, " - and you are?

Medley was somewhat disappointed to hear that the stallion was not the foal’s father or knew the baby at all.
“I’m afraid I don’t have anymore ideas. I guess the best place for Mookie right now is the Nursery, just in case his parents check there. I just feel bad leaving him with strangers, but I guess we aren’t any more than strangers to him either. I suppose we could check on him in the morning though,” she said with a soft sigh.

"Definitely. One night, and then we'll take him ot one of our apartments and leave a flier saying where he is. Should we meet at my apartment tomorrow morning or yours?"

“It doesn’t matter where we meet to me; I’m perfectly fine with us meeting at my little flat. If his parents don’t show up, we can ask him which one of us does he want to stay with until his parents discover where he is,” Medley told Wing Song, almost forgetting about the stallion with them.
Medley whispered, “I just had another thought, what if Mookie’s parents are—are—“ She hesitated again, especially since Mookie was in an earshot, so she whispered her last word even softer than before, “Dead?”

Wing Song gasped, eyes wide. "Do you really think...Oh, poor thing!" With that, the mare reached over and swept Mookie up into a tight hug. Having not heard the majority of the older ponies' conversation, she knew he'd think she was being rather strange, but she just couldn't help herself. She set him down, blushing slightly, and tried to keep him from wondering what they'd been talking about. "Uh-ahem, did you need anything else, Mookie?", she asked, patting him on the head.

Medley gave Wing Song a strange look, Medley hoped Wing Song did not upset or scare Mookie in any way.
In a hushed voice, she did not want Mookie to feel like he was burdening them at all, she said, “Then it’s settled, we will drop Mookie off at the Nursery. If his parents don’t find him there, he can stay with one of us while we track his parents down.”
She wrote down the address of the Nursery and her “little flat” on a sheet of paper. Handing it to Wing Song, Medley said, “Meet me at the Nursery tomorrow, if Mookie’s parents didn’t pick him up, we can meet back at my place and the three of us can make some fliers to hang all around Ponyville. That sound good?”

"Yeah. I guess that should work out." Wing Song turned to the stallion. "Would you like to come?"

Medley blushed slightly; she had been so engrossed with Mookie that she had forgotten that the stallion was with them.
She smiled at him and said politely, “Oh, yes, you are completely welcome to join us. You may, if you like, join us tomorrow and help make fliers if the foal’s parents do not show up.”
