(con. from beach)
The TAF unicorn made mild haste in making her way towards her home out of town. Every other moment, she kept looking down to make sure her foal was with her every step of the way.
The journey between the beach and her house wasn't long, and Rose would be thankful if they managed to get in doors before anything bad hit them. Thunder rumbling in the distance made her become slightly antsy.

A great wind came down the path. Set was running with his head down and his eyes nearly closed as he appeared just around the bend ahead of Rose. Though in truth the storm god knew just where he was putting his feet, he behaved as if he was having a bit of trouble. He nearly knocked into her.
"Oh, so sorry!" He whirled around. His eyes blinked against the strong gust he was secretly calling. "Rose! You better get inside! Big storm coming." In truth, the storm might pass over as quickly as he'd begun to fashion it, but he thought he had enough power to keep up the illusion for a time.

Rose nodded her head, completely ignoring the fact he almost ran her over. She turned back to him and gestured for him to come with her. "You can wait this storm out at my place," she called out to him, not thinking clearly by inviting stallions she just met in.
The unicorn then scooped up Tsuwari as Rose was unsatisfied with his speed, and promptly headed towards her house. Needless to say, she barely noticed the horrible fungus covered wilting bush in her yard in her rush for safety.
After fumbling for her keys, she pushed the door open and headed in, leaving it open just long enough for Set to come in, if he so decided to.

Set was right on her heels and quickly slid inside. He went right to the window to look out. "Might be a while before it passes," he mused. "I hope you don't mind the company. I never would have made it back to the inn. I would have been taking cover under the trees." At this he laughed to lighten the mood.

Rose closed the door and took his side to peer out for just a fleeting glance. She didn't like the looks of it at all. A slight shiver ran down her spine, she always felt this way during a storm. Rose didn't know why, though, her mother absolutely loved them.
"No, not at all. I'd hate to be hiding under a tree in that mess too," she answered him in all honesty.
Her eyes glanced to the rotting bush again. I wonder how it got that way so fast....I've never seen my flowers just wilt like that.
Backing from the window, her body turned in the direction of the kitchen. "Well, since it'll be a while, would you care for a snake, any kind of drink?"

Set took two steps to follow her until she said the word "snake" instead of "snack" and then froze in his tracks. God or not, he had a loathesome attitude toward serpents. His innermost, spectral being forced down a furious swell lest it cross his physical face and show his discomfort.
"A drink would be plenty," he said, now looking around her home. "Whatever you have that's good for days like today."

(ooc: *looks at last post* Well, I guess I did say snake, lol! *boinks head* Man I wasn't paying attention.)
"Oh, I meant snack," Rose corrected herself after the earlier mistake had dawned upon her. Get a grip on yourself, this storm can't be making you that mixed up!
No surely it wasn't that, she told herself. Although...her thoughts lingered on the similarities between Glayse and Set. She'd only barely known Glayse before and was quick to just invite him in. Set seemed no different. You're getting ahead of yourself! Glayse just kind willed his way in, Seth is just trying to avoid roughing a storm in dangerous conditions!
Still, that tiny part of her couldn't help but set odd an alarm to the situation in her head.
The unicorn pushed her discomfort aside, she did have Tsuwari present. It was better not to alarm her foal that something was wrong, for she truly didn't think so after inspecting the situation. She just was weary of last summer, and she knew no one could blame her for such.
"Right, less see...," she said trailing off as she looked about her kitchen. Normally Rose would prefer a nice warm cup of Chai Tea or hot chocolate, despite season. Oh Hasbro brand horse manure! I'm out of both, I knew I needed to do something today aside those bulbs!
Reluctently, she turned to her fridge and pulled out three drink boxes, handed one to Tsuwari, and then gave one to her company. She smiled back, somewhat embarrassed and unused to having such childish commodities around.

The little orange-red unicorn was simply fascinated with the oncoming storm. As soon as his mother had dragged him into the shelter of their home, Tsuwari had his nose pressed to the window, watching the lightning in the distance. When the small bursts of light struck the earth, the foal seemed to have a temporary glow reminiscent of his father. Sunset eyes wide, he scanned the horizon for the next bolt. Instead there was a crack of thunder, causing the little one to jump, but also squeal in surprise. His head swung around to Rose excitedly.
"Mama, if I point my horn at the clouds, do you think I'll catch a lightning?" He asked innocently.

"Yes...," she saw the excited gleam in his eye, "And no, young man. Don't you dare try doing such a thing! Do you want to scare me to death? Getting struck by lightning is a heavy matter! You could die if you get struck."
Her face was almost pleading with him, knowing very well that he was tempted to do so, despite her.
"Why do you think Seth here was so quick to seek shelter like I did with you?"

Set took the juice box. He looked at it for a moment, then stuck the little straw inside. He was about to take a sip when he was distracted by Tsuwari's bountiful burst of energy. The foal's excitement seeped deep into the god like the smell of fresh baked bread to the low-carb dieter (har).
So, this is the taste of such power when coupled with curious youth.
In Set's eyes there was a playfulness. "You know, they say it takes a special soul to predict a lightning strike. Do you want to play this game with me? Look, now." There was a crackle in the air as lightning prepared to shoot across the sky. "There! Oh, no, I missed. It was over there." He winked at Rose.

"But isn't there lightning inside my horn? That's how I can do this--" Tsuwari trotted to Set's side and poked his horn against the stallion's leg. He squnched his features and closed his eyes as a small *zap* snapped against Set. "...Right?"
Tsuwari's ears perked at Set's suggestion, "Yeah!" and he immediately ran back to the window. By now, some rougher winds had started to pick up. The foal's little orange muzzle was making a small cloud against the cold glass. His eyes intently darted from one part of the sky to another, each time reflecting the lightning as it struck. "Mm.. right there! Behind that tree!" Tsuwari pointed with a small feathered hoof. Seconds later, whether he was actually gifted or just lucky, lightning touched the ground where he predicted. "Whoa!!" He looked at Set in amazement.

It was fortunate for Tsuwari that Set was in a good mood. "Ow, knock that off," he said, laughing. The zap was no more than a tickle to him. "Yes, that's a kind of power like the lightning, but it's not so grand." The raging storm continued to feed Set's attitude. He leaned in close and whispered. "At least not yet. You've still growing to do, but perhaps one day you'll master the storm?"
As he spoke, his aura draped itself over the foal in the attempt to boost his confidence and pride. Set watched the foal's face intently as he stared out the window and guided the lightning to the place where Tsuwari wanted it to go. The god noticed that it didn't take much effort to convince the lightning to fork. It seemed eager to comply..
"Ah! See! You've done it, my boy," Set said, walking away from the window and over to Rose. He whispered so that only she would hear. "Old carnival trick, setting the eyes in the right direction. We could play this game all night."

"Tsuwari...," Rose gruffly said, an underlying hint of a raising temper. She wasn't really that mad, but having Tsuwari had taught her how quick she could learn the "mother sternness attack stare". "Young man, what have I told you about doing that? I thought we discussed this earlier this morning. Now apologize to Seth right this instant."
Her face lightened as she apologetically faced the other unicorn. "I'm so sorry," she whispered to him, "He gets excited."
"Play it all night?," the red mare raised an eyebrow, "I'm not sure giving him the idea might be wise." But she chuckled lightly at the thought.

"I'm sorry, Seth."
The little foal had only cowered for a second under his mother's glare before resuming his fascination with Set. It wasn't every day his mother brought home someone so interesting and new. Usually, it was one of her friends who she'd sit and talk to for what seemed to be hours in Tsuwari's perspective. But this one was different! He turned back to the stallion, "Grand power? What's that like? Can I get it? How do I master the storm?" He practically wiggled with excitement as he bombarded the older one with questions of a curious foal. His sunset eyes almost seemed to glow.
"Play all night?" Tsuwari reared on his back legs, resting his front feet against Set excitedly, "Could we? Really?"
As Set and Tsuwari watched the storm through the window, a small cold breeze blew past Rose Rebellion's muzzle. A very faint, barely noticible orange wisp of what appeared to be smoke wove itself around her neck, slithering almost like a serpent, though one that couldn't be seen. The remainder of Glasye made its way to her ears, and whispered with icy breath, "Who's this now, Rosie? He looks powerful to me.. better be careful with our little one... you aren't trying to replace me now, are you?"

Rose's eyes widened, but she remained as patiently calm as she possibly could. It wasn't very often Glayse happened to visit her in the middle of the day...and never in company, no less.
Glayse, love, you know I only had eyes for you. No, Seth is just someone staying out of the whether. Any why are you even asking?! Are you...jealous? I bet you are, aren't you? If only she could just laugh. I also would like to know what you're putting in our son's head at night? What is this 'mighty orange pony' bit?
"Absolutely not, Tsuwari. You're a growing stallion, and you need to have your rest."
