Peri's muscles stiffened the moment Jewel's eyes landed on him. There was so much raw emotion, such a painful glint there, that it was almost unbareable to look at. A part of him instructed to memorize that look, capture that mind wrenching unsaid emotion. The other part was just frozen in a mindless stupor. Jewel didn't have to say any more, her eyes told what she couldn't.
A sickness.....something coming...leaving without me...without me...a sickness...
All he could do was dumbly, mindless stare and blink. It couldn't be. No, Peri couldn't have been... He just wouldn't. It was impossible. There hadn't been an epidemic worthy of causing such traumatic results in centuries. Medical science was at the top of it's game. It just wasn't an option. Peri just couldn't...!
Yet, it seemed Jewel's eyes could not hide. Something was going to happen with him. Whether it was from the sickness or not, something would prevent him from following Jewel to where she was going.
"I...I see.," He responded deeply, head lowering. Getting a hold of himself, he pulled his face back up, a well acted strong and firm expression upon him. "Then we better tell the other chosen."
It felt a hollow responce.....'we'. Suddenly the white stallion was unsure the definition included his presence any more.
(heh, I should have Peri hunt down Breezie and get the virus from her)

"Then we better tell the other chosen."
"They will know," Jewel replied almost instantly, surprising even herself at how quickly she seemed to be able to respond. This was strange, this.. knowing things.. she couldn't tell where it all came from exactly, but it was as if her mind were able to reach out far beyond her body and grasp information.
The pegasus's head suddenly shot up, scanning the top of a nearby hill. Her ears swiveled forward, nostrils flaring open and shut. Purple eyes looked back and forth, and a small amount of adrenaline released itself into her bloodstream. Wordlessly, she stepped in front of Peri, as if to protect him. Wordlessly, she waited.

"They will know."
"Oh," Peri breathed out, suddenly taken aback about her statement. Again, he felt that sudden loss, like he was suddenly outside of the group that was there besides how physically close he was.
His body tensed as Jewel side stepped around before him, almost as if she were blocking something. This suddenly alarmed the actor, and he pushed his petty thoughts aside and focused upon the words of Inti, conjuring forth the skills the god had given him. If there was going to be some sort of tiff, Peri would not be the helpless party surrounded by Rainbow Champions.
Rose trailed behind Glayse with an anxious know forming in her chest. She realized quite soon where he was leading her. To the river...and most likely to Roux. It was like facing that same fear again, knowing that they were walking to the stallion who'd so ruthlessly killed Glayse before.
It left her naturally terrified that the same even would happen, not unless she'd stop it herself. The entire ordeal was overly intimidating and stressful. Unconsciously she picked up her pass to be as close to Glayse as possible.

"Wait here," The orange stallion nearly commanded Rose on the other side of the hill from where the champions and the actor stood. Giving her his best (but not most effective) calm face, he trotted up the hill until he loomed at its peak.
The gold pegasus's teeth gritted together and her eyes narrowed upon seeing Glasye. Her heart pounded in a fury, part wanting to obliterate him where he stood, and the other part afraid of him still.
"You seem awfully bold, seeking out the champions of the Rainbow of Light," She nearly snarled, arching her wings slightly in an intimidating fashion.
"Oh, my dear," Glasye grinned, sauntering down the hill, "Don't you know? I happen to be both awful AND bold."
"I should have killed you," The pegasus began circling the orange stripe, never taking her eyes from him.
"As I recall, you did try," Glasye replied in a snide tone, circling her nonchalantly, "But it seems you weren't strong enough, fast enough, or powerful enough to contend me!! Pity that," He grinned, ears curling inward as his pupils shrank.
"I'd be more than happy to try again," The pegasus said, rearing for a moment in preparation to charge Glasye.
"Oh, sure, by all means," He said, calm as ever. Jewel stopped where she was and glanced sideways at him, "What's your game?"
"No game, deary," He continued with an air of dominance, "Just s shame that you'll be killing the stallion that your best friend has all but married, and destroy the life of the foal they have together. I can't imagine how much therapy poor Tsuwari would need... Isn't that right, Rosey-love?" He looked over his shoulder, calling to the red mare.

Peri Winkle's eyes narrowed, although his stare seemed almost uneffectual with his glass eye's pupil having shifted from facing forward. Mentally, he could feel rocks not fully worn yet by errosion. He gripped them with his mind, but allowed them to be remained concealed by the water's surface. If need be, he would use them to aid Jewel best he could. There was no way he would let her leave his sight into death's open arms again. No, not without a fight.
Rose nodded numbly, halting in her tracks, her nerves on pinpricks. She'd hate to confront what she knew loomed over the hill, but somewhere in that rebellious heart she knew she must.
Then, he summoned for her, and she was by his side in an instant. Her purple eyes flickered out of relief to seeing Jewel in good health. She'd known that she'd died in the battle, and barely knew of her revival. It had been the first time she recalled seeing her friend.
Roux, however...the moment Rose's eyes grased past him left her boiling with a mix of fear, sadness, and loathing. With a renewed drive, Rose diligantly half stepped infront of her stallion, much in reflection to Jewel's protection of Peri.

The gold pegasus didn't allow the sight of her old friend to soften her appearance. Inwardly, she was glad to see the mare in one piece and looking healthy, especially since she had spent her life with Glasye as of late. But her concentration lingered on the orange stallion.
And yet she was torn. Here she was, with three against two, and an opportunity to kill the bane of her existence. But her best friend was not only in love with him, but standing between them.
From behind the mare, Glasye grinned evilly, relishing in the situation. The plan thus far had unfolded perfectly.
"Rose, he. is. evil," Jewel said, once again subtly taking an aggressive poise, only somewhat at a loss for words. "I'm a champion now, I..."
"...you're going to kill your friend's lover! My my, that sounds like a righteous, champion thing to do." Glasye sneered, eyes darting for a second to Peri, knowing he'd caused the stallion grief by aiding in his girlfriend's murder. Yet he kept enough in his voice to keep Rose unsuspecting.

"I don't care!," Rose shouted back, surprisngly forcefull and unbetraying of how mind numbingly terrified she was of this situation. Her lip quivered, her face suddenly hard, "I don't care."
She remained quiet, as Glayse interjected an interruption. Peri Winkle's gaze all but turned into a snarl as the fiend's orange eyes briefly passed over him. Had the mare been totally daft? Loving a strip of the dark rainbow? Could that even be done? Willingly? No, certainly she was bewitched somehow, and conveniently an aquaintense of Jewel's no doubt.
"Jewel...Darkness doesn't exist without light. Removing the dark shades only removes definition to the light.," Rose reasoned, her voice calmer, but thick with emotion.
“I thought that being a chosen of the rainbow constituted your ability to embrace and forgive. Well, I’ve forgiven.” She too, moved offensively in posture completely before Glayse. Her horn gleamed in a glint from the sun's rays, an ever present threat that Rose knew how to use her natural devices, which she would not hesitate in doing so.
"Tsuwari needs a father. He needs someone that can teach him how to control the abilities he has, just as much as he needs me to set him on the right path. Denying him that just might make him another threat to you," Rose's expression grew cold and hard, "And if you so much as think I am crazy now, than you do not want to see the defense I will gladly put up for our son."

The orange stallion now puffed out his chest proudly, still grining maliciously. Somehow, all those fake smiles and kind words now seemed worth it. He had all but turned Rose against the 'good' ponies.
Rose, what has he done to you? The pegasus could only stare at her friend, trying desperately to keep a firm and emotionless expression. She took a few deep, silent breaths to compose herself in the heated situation. Her mind worked quickly. Glasye may not have wanted a fight, but he was making some kind of motion by bringing Rose into this mess. Too much was at stake to make rash decisions.
Purple eyes glazed over, leaving a motionless pegasus before them. Her new 'third' eye gleamed for a moment. Visions entered her mind's eye, reminding her of the impending sickness and the venture she would soon be going on. Clearly, there were more important things at hand than old personal battles.
She closed her eyes briefly, coming back to her senses. The pegasus's purple eyes met those of her friend, her stance no longer threatening. She spoke calmly, in the manner of a true champion:
"I do not want to fight you, Rose. And I do not want to damage the life of a foal whose potential has yet to be judged. My duty is NOT to destroy," She stamped a hoof and paused, looking away for a moment, "I honor our friendship, and I would rather keep that than take a life. Even if it is one of the lives responisble for my death," She said those last words with venom, staring hard and icily at Glasye, who nearly laughed back at her.
Jewel then looked at Rose, wondering if the mare had any idea of the sacrifice she had made.

The only indication that Jewel's final statement struck some form of nerve was the flattening of her ears. Her face and body remained entirely poised and ready for so much as a sudden attack from either. She wouldn't regret these actions, but she certainly would question Glayse when out of direct danger.
Peri hesitated in his own responce. He wasn't entirely sure that Jewel's decision to let him go was wise, but he had to trust her judgment. She was now apart of something greater than him, and reluctantly, Peri released the grip of the rocks waiting for him. "Let's get out of here, Jewel."

Roux was struck speechless as the orange demon came into view. How the rainbow was he alive? He had killed him. Crushed his skull. Glayse was dead. Or had been. Hadn’t he? It couldn’t have been a dream, could it have been? Muscles tightened causing his light brown coat to ripple. Being so close to that creature again made his jaw close tight. Teeth began to grind together as he stared at the one who had hurt so many. The manipulation, the destruction, the deaths that he had helped to cause. Why would anyone want to protect something so vile? Why? Unless for the sake of love? But how could anyone love him? Perhaps a spell? A trick? The twisting of words?
Jewel mentioned leaving. That snapped him from his thoughts. Yes leaving. That would probably be for the best. At least for now. Before he attempted to wipe that smug look from that beast’s face, permanently. Especially since Rose had mentioned a foal. Glayse’s foal? Rainbow help the child if he grew to be anything like his father for one day someone would take his life as well, for the sake of saving others.

The golden pegasus held her eyes on the orange stallion, narrowing them slightly. Her will was not one easily defeated. The voice which came from her mouth almost seemed not to be her own. It was a voice like a prophet or oracle sealing the fate of an unfortunate mortal:
"Your demise will be brought about by your own actions," She paused for a moment, glancing slowly to Rose, then back to Glasye, "And the demise will not solely be your own."
She didn't have to have the powers of the Rainbow to say such things: it was easily derived from the knowledge of Glasye's nature, and his relationship with Rose.
"I guess I won't plan on croaking any time soon then," Glasye replied in a low, grinning tone, "Seeing as I'm just. that. good." His head stretched forward slightly upon each word, ending with a calm but bloodthirsty grin.
"Let's get out of here, Jewel."
Jewel looked hard into Rose's eyes, and held her gaze powerfully for what seemed like an eternity. She had nothing else to say. After all.. what could make any difference? Still lingering on the ren unicorn's violet eyes, she slowly addressed Roux and Peri:
"Come. We have things to take care of."

Peri Winkle's voice as an audible growl at Glayse's very ego driven, confident remark. The orange stallion could not drop dead soon enough in his honest opinion. To know such vile life existed, and right around Outer Edges, where Jewel lived? That, that was too much for Peri to sit back and passively not respond to anything Glayse did.
Not even uttering another word, Glayse and Rose was not worth the effort, he silently followed Jewel's form. His one eye, however, lingered on Glayse's figure threateningly.
Rose puffed out her chest, taking in slow and forcefully calm breaths as Jewel stated the words she had. If that was her fate, so be it. She knew deep down that this was why she was here. Rose truly loved Glayse, she could look past the evil inside him and honestly care for him. It was that kind of love that would guide Tsuwari. Her rebellious heart would not lead her to believe anything else.
Her purple eyes held Jewel's own for a moment, and in her depths they conveyed an apologetic emotion. Even if Rose knew somewhere subconsciously how horribly insane her descision was, the unicorn was too pig-headed to change her descision. It was black and white, and to Rose there was no turning back.
"Glayse, we also need a talk," she breathed out, somewhat tiredly.

Roux gave half a nod in reply to Jewel's comment. Yes, they did. Many things. Just what kind of evil was coming now? Something to do with that orange monster no doubt. Rainbow only knew what disgustingly evil ideas or plans lay within his head.
His heart was weighed down with many things; the way he moved reflected that. Hoofsteps were not light, nor was there a sprig in his step. He walked like a stallion that had seen many hardships and was destined to face many more before he drew his final breath.

His one eye, however, lingered on Glayse's figure threateningly.
As Peri watched him, Glasye tossed his orange-gold mane vainly, settling his gaze back on the stallion with a smirk and a raised eyebrow. "Later, Cyclops!"
Jewel closed her eyes in a frown for a brief moment before leaping only a few feet to face the orange stallion with a piercing whinny. While Glasye didn't retreat, he did manage a noticeable flinch. Jewel simply snorted before turning, almost as if to say, "I knew it" and returned to her stallion company.
"Bring it, Goldie!" Glasye said, having recovered from the surprise and resumed his naturally cocky self. "Try again, and I can assure you'll be skewered by a certain unicorn's horn. Then I can watch you die all. over. again," He continued, with almost a bloodthirsty tone. He kept his cool for the sake of Rose, however, and made them seem like just angry words.
With only a last rather disappointed look, Jewel and her friends disappeared over the next hill. As they did, the mare noticed Roux's almost weathered demeanor. In a motion of both compassion and reasurrance, she reached over and nuzzled the stallion's cheek gently. She also tried to mentally douse the embers from the old flame, but it was difficult.
Jewel pushed ahead, trotting into the woods toward her small cottage home.
