The mare at the bar turned a little more toward Glasye, taking a long swig of her drink with half-closed eyes. The stallion watched intently, all sorts of scenes playing in his mind..
Mare: Who's that you're with? Glasye: ...My sister. Mare: And w-- Glasye--her son. Mare: Ohh.. Glasye: Oh yes.
Glasye nearly chuckled despite himself, had he not been so in the throes of playing it cool. Hey, when the cat's away...
Tsuwari was still of somewhat small stature to reach the sink properly, and as luck would have it there weren't any stools around. Tip-toeing on his hind legs, the little foal quickly took the turned-on sink of the stallion who was just finishing washing his hooves and eagerly splashed his hooves in the sink in a flailing motion. There was a resounding 'clunk' or 'clink' every time his hooves made contact with the ceramic surface, not to mention various splashes everywhere.
Once he had gotten his hooves as clean as he could, Tsu looked around for a means of drying them. Not seeing any paper towels, Tsuwari leapt to smack the automatic hand drier. He squinted his eyes as his whole body was blasted with hot air.
By now he had taken quite a bit of time, but had nonetheless accomplished the task successfully. Looking as if his feats were nothing special, he pranced out of the bathroom to where his mother was waiting.
With ruffled, air-blasted hair, he looked up at her expectantly.
((I just realized that hoof-washing is practically useless. Oh well. It stays, lol.))

Rose looked up from her thoughts as the door to the men's room opened. She looked straight ahead as it did so, turning her head and gaze downward to locate the exiting foal. Her rather winded foal.
Rose resisted the erge to chuckle, but just barely. She had to encourage this independence, not discourage by making it seem she was laughing at him. Merely, she squated down to his level and folded down the locks of his mane that were wildly strewn about.
"I think that'll do.," she told him with a warm smile. With that Rose stood and began to head back to their table, eyes darting back to Tsuwari in the process. After sitting down, she glanced at Glayse inquiringly.
"Drinks not here yet?" She looked at the rest of the table. Obviously not. "Oh."

"Welcome back, love," Glasye greeted nonchalantly, as if without a care in the world. Just as Rose and Tsuwari rejoined him, the waiter returned with a tray of drinks for the family.
"Here ya go," The waiter said with another yawn, putting the drinks on the table, "Food'll be out in a sec."

"Thank you," Rose replied curtly with a nod and pleasant smile. Before even thinking of diving into her own drink, she instructed Tsuwari to go "easy" on his milkshake, least there be no room left for his meal.
Once taken care of, Rose nonchalantly raised her glass to her lips and sipped a long, lemon flavored sip. Her throat tingled as it went down from both the alcohol and the soda water. It left a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
"How's yours Glayse?"

(con. from Bargain Balloons)
The chimes hanging over head jingled, announcing the arrival of one actor Peri Winkle and company of Kimono and Ice Crystal. The not quite so masculine stallion didn't even bother to once over the familiar scenery of the cafe, and simple dragged himself up to the bar counter.
He looked up as a bar tender approached, wiping a glass that would seem never to get clean.
"What's your poison?," he questioned over the counter, before being smacked painfully by a passing waitress "--OW!" What was that for?"
The waitress glared at him with a snort. "Don't even joke like that! Not after the poison scare in our tarts when the Dark Rainbow was here. Do you know just how many ponies got sick here? How much business we lost?"
Back at the cornering booth, Rose's ear flecked. Suddenly she recalled just exactly the event she had over heard, remembering it quite clearly with no trouble. She was, after all, one of the few ponies to survive that poison--thanks to Glayse. Still, Rose couldn't help but turned to look over her shoulder to see who was talking of the event...and purple eyes landed on Peri's hunched body.
Rose grew more and more concerned when she didn't see Jewel near him, and half in fear of having Tsuwari and Glayse in the same room as them.
Half focused on her words, she mumbled, "I'll be right back."
The red unicorn rose from her seat and slowly began to approach behind them, as if waiting for one of the three to turn around and invite her to their fold.
Peri was oblivious, not even paying attention to the tender as he simpered an apologetic nod while rubbing his bruised head. Again, the one behind the counter looked at him and asked, "What have you, chum?"
"Something cheap, stiff, and hard."

"How's yours Glayse?"
"Very.. desireable.." He grinned, eyes on the red mare as he took another bite. The orange stallion did little more than swivel an ear at the trio's arrival, though he could see from the corner of his eye who they were.
Inwardly, the stallion laughed, much pleased by Peri's melancholy appearance. Aww.. did someone lose his Striped indigo counterpart? How sad! Fire burned behind Glasye's eyes. He'd already taken audience to the pegasus's murder once before, would he have to do it himself this time? Hopefully she won't quite make it back.. and I won't have to be bothered with any of it. Though it WAS fun to watch..
As Kimono entered, looking about out of curiosity, the solid orange stallion easily caught his eye. Trying to seem unafraid, and half not feeling well enough to risk any trouble, the stallion hastily kept up with the dejected actor, trying to act as if he hadn't seen the evil orange stripe.
Yes, run away, Glasye thought jovially to himself, You're only too right to fear me.
Though on the outside at that moment, Glasye appeared quite the calm family stallion. One innocently enjoying a dinner out with his partner and thier child. Not many would have turned, save for those who remembered him. And they were much like Kimono, keeping their distance and wishing to prevent trouble.
But, trouble was part of Glasye's resume.
"I'll be right back."
The stallion nodded, smiling for effect. He didn't much care where she went--what stallion better than him could she ever find? He was everything she dreamed of, and used it to his every advantage. Speaking of which..
"Tsu?" He smiled as kindly as an evil stripe could.
"Yeah?" The small reddish unicorn looked up, hooves still clamped around his precious milkshake.
"When your mother comes back.. tell her.. I had some business to attend to. I'll meet up with you at home. Ok, Sport?"
"k." Tsuwari had his milkshake. Few other things mattered now.
"Thatta boy. I'll see you later," With that, Glasye swiftly but smoothly exited the building. (cont him wherever Twilight is)
The purple stallion took the seat next to the actor, appearing almost as slumped in appearance. He really wasn't feeling well, but in a way, failed to care at that moment. He looked up at the bar tender, "Hot tea, please. Lemon and honey if you have it."

Peri dazedly tilted his head far enough so that he could glance at Kimono as his order was place. That was, it took an entire turn of his head to achieve sight through his one eye.
The bartender returned a moment later, setting the drinks down with a hard knock on the counter for dramatic effect. He then looked up and centered his gaze on Rose, once more wiping at his glass.
With a gesturing nod of his head to a seat beside Peri, he asked, "What have ya miss?"
"Oh no, I had my drink tonight." Rose instantly shook her head and waved her hooves in an unwanting display, appearing half between wanting to be noticed and being.
Her sound of her voice made the decision for her, for Peri recognized it and looked cautiously over his shoulder. His mouth slowly opened. "...You..." But the thought was lost, and he merely shook his head and took to his glass.
One fell swoop and the shot was downed. He coughed, shuddered, and made a half sneeze, then patted the seat next to him. Rose scampered up and hastily took her seat, briefly glancing back to Tsuwari out of habit.
Her eyes widened briefly in surprise at Glayse's absence, and quickly to an enraged anger. But Rose quenched that fast, Glayse could very well have been in the bathroom. Still, she made a 'psting' noise to gain Tsuwari's attention, and gestured for him to come sit on her lap.
Sighing after this, Rose turned back to Peri and Kimono, a concerned look on her red visage. "Where's Jewel?"
Peri coughed, whether from the infection of more of the alcohol was anyone's guess, but he waved for the bar tender to pour him another. The stallion did as was told, but as he turned to leave, Peri grabbed his hoof and simply stated, "Leave the bottle."
Knowingly, as bar tenders hear these dribble sob stories all the time, left it behind without any questions.
"Jewel?," Rose prompted him again, grabbing his arm before he succeeded in downing another shot.
Peri mumbled something incoherent in response, then glanced at Kimono as if for help. Peri was tired of talking about it.

At his mother's bidding, the little red unicorn grasped his milkshake and walked obediently over to the red mare. He then climbed into her lap, still sipping the chocolate shake.
"Glasye had business to 'tend to," He said quietly, looking up at his mother for a moment. He didn't seem concerned in the least.
"Jewel?,"
Kimono raised a feathered purple hoof and patted the actor's shoulder before turning to Rose. He sniffled, and blinked hard. Feeling as he was, he'd have to turn in soon.
"She left today," He said quietly, "With the other Champions, in a balloon headed for Dream Valley. Well, she flew, but all the same.. she's off for the sake of the Rainbow now." He half-smiled, proud that he knew someone with such duty to fulfill, but because of his sympathy for Peri, it didn't last long.

"Oh...Oooohhhh," Rose stated first with a usual voice, and then in realization. "Oh Peri, I'm sorry."
Peri's blue eye darted to her before both eyes closed. "Sympathy accepted. I'll...I'll be ok." He forced a smile, noting that she was a friend of Jewel's, despite whom she sided with. "I just...I just need to get it out of my system."
Rose nodded before lowering her hoof. She then looked down to her boy and scooped him up into her lap, spinning the chair around once for his entertainment. Her arms wrapped snuggly around him, as if he was a teddy bear, and it was reassuring to have him so near in her sight. It almost made the worry of her missing friend and Glayse disappear. Almost.
Sensing that now wans't the right time to ask what prey tell the Champions were doing, or where they were going, she tried to bring up something less heavy.
"How's the castle doing? I haven't really been inside to see the changes...not since, well.," Rose sighed, not willing to bring up the fact she rushed right into a trap thinking Glayse was injured. She shivered, recalling just how vicious Glayse could be.

"How's the castle doing?.,"
Kimono raised his head to look at Rose, "It's beautiful," He smiled slightly, "Though it will never be the same as it was.." The atmosphere had turned the purple stallion meloncholy as well, also sad for his own loss, in a way. "I still find solace there. You should visit sometime."

"I will.," she promised him, then looked down at Tsuwari. "We'll have to go, huh? You might like looking around the castle."
She roughed his hair a moment, before slicking it back behins his ear and putting it place. At the manor his milkshake was being consumed, she may have to wipe his cheeks too. And all little foals knew how horrible that was, especially when they licked their hooves to do it.
Peri seemed oblivious to their small conversation and took at another shot--though the speed he had started to take them was quickly diminishing.
"Peri, try to show an example.," Rose lightly scorned, "Hadn't you stayed at the Nursery while the Castle was worked on?"
"Ugn?," Peri questioned, not really hearing. "Oh...oh yeah." He nodded his head once too many. "Move out a little after Winter Solstice back to the castle."

"We'll have to go, huh? You might like looking around the castle."
Tsuwari nodded, excitement dancing in his eyes. Why, some of the biggest and bravest ponies fought battles there! Maybe.. maybe even the big orange pony from his dreams. He'd have to ask his mother later.
To the foal's disappointment, a loud slurping sound came through the straw he had been drinking from. The unicorn looked down, and discovered that his milkshake had finally been consumed. With a sigh, feeling his mother wouldn't let him have another, Tsuwari carefully set the empty glass on the bar table. His gaze drifted to Peri.
"Mama.." Tsuwari whispered, as if Peri couldn't hear, "Do the grown up drinks.. do they just make you sleepy? Cuz I think his brain is sleepy too."
Kimono smirked, amused by the foal's naivete. Nowadays, the stallion's inner foal only seemed to exist between the pages of colorfully-written literature.
The emerald-eyed stallion closed his eyes and sipped his tea. The warm drink cascaded down his throat, and for the moment, much eased his discomfort. Kimono's entire body seemed to relax a notch simply at that first sip.
"Rose?" Kimono cleared his throat and addressed the mare, as eager to change the topic as he was to ask, "Do you.. do you suppose you would have the herbs, or even seeds, or just some way that I could grow the leaves to make this kind of tea, myself?" Not that the stallion had a green hoof whatsoever, but he WAS short on work, and income.. and he had a feeling he'd be needing much more tea in the near future.

Rose turned her attention fully to Kimono as he addressed her, gauging the tone of his voice to reveal a topic more to his heart than what was already stated.
"I'm sure if I didn't have the seeds that I could special order them for you, and even get a few stalks of it started for what you need them for," Rose stated with confidence.
Her face than turned to a more mildly excited look. "That reminds me. Roses will be in bloom coming up, and I'll have to make some rose vinaigrette. You're welcome to a bottle of it when it gets made."
She then nudged Peri. "You too; if you aren't too drunk to comprehend that."
Peri chuckled with a sad note. "Nope, not drunk enough."
Then, as if to prove this statement, turned his face to nod at Tsuwari. "It makes you sleepy and it can hurt your head, so don't drink it."
Then the actor shrugged his shoulders and down another. Rose scoffed and mumbled "Do as I say, not as I do?"
"Exactly.," Peri nodded.

The purple stallion smiled and had just opened his mouth to answer when a strange, and highly intoxicated, green stallion stumbled up to the bar, cutting between Rose and Peri.
"I know.. I know who you arre.." He slurred, eyeing the red mare and pointing with an unsteady hoof. "So how IS the little demon spawn?" He said this loud enough for the nearby customers to hear. The stallion leaned uncomfortably close to Tsuwari, a sour smell on his breath, "What's it like to be half evil, little stal, eh?" He laughed, but Tsuwari didn't.
"You shouldn't talk to my mother that way," He spat, keeping a low tone. He stood in Rose's lap, and his lip twitched, threatening a snarl. Tsuwari would defend his mother to the death if he had to.
"Whatcha gonna do, half pint?" The stallion laughed and swayed slightly. Tsuwari's scruff stiffened, as if he were a small dog. The little unicorn leapt toward the drunk pony, zapping him with his horn, trying to push him away from Rose.

"I know.. I know who you arre..So how IS the little demon spawn?"
Rose's face, usually a very healthy and vibrant red, paled drastically at the drunk's words. Instinctively she clutched Tsuwari closer to her, but finding any words difficult to say and stuck within the back of her throat.
"You shouldn't talk to my mother that way"
"Shuu, Tsuwari.," she instructed, pulling her foal from under the other's leaning form. But Tsuwari proved to be more resilient to this as he stood up to challenge the other.
The little unicorn leapt toward the drunk pony, zapping him with his horn, trying to push him away from Rose.
"TSUWARI!," Rose clamped her hooves onto his waste and pulled him back, literally tumbling back and off her bar stool. Peri was quick to action as well. His body leapt from his seat, the bottle of alcohol he had ordered finding a new use: smashing dramatically into the drunk pony to the back of the head.
Perhaps it was his ill mood, or perhaps it was also the intoxication of the drinks in his own system that allowed Peri that startling boldness. But it was done all the same before he really realized he'd done it. That didn't stop him from going farther. No, Peri was improving, he would run with it.
White hooves gripped the front of the drunkard and Peri charged forward, pushing the unicorn in a straight line to the front door and exiting the cafe. It was then he slammed the green stallion against the building's outer wall and got into his face.
"Evil is what I call adults who get kicks terrorizing mothers and their foals.," Peri spat bitterly. He slammed the stallion's shoulders again into the wall. "Never. EVER. EVER. Try that again."
Rose darted glances to the outside of the cafe, while clutching Tsuwari tightly too her, fearful of letting go, but more terrified to move.
