Ice Crystal was nearly forced to squint at the sight of it. Ponyland was so exuberant and colourful, not to mention alive with activity and things that had long been so foreign to him. Flower shops; theatre; a bookstore; a salon; all among so many other things. He didn't know where to find the Paradise Estate that Lucky had described, but had quietly presumed that it was presently out of use.
Despite the few bipedal ponies that he took notice of, he felt more comfortable remaining on all-fours. Trotting to the fountain in the square, he paused, looking about curiously ...

Breezie trotted purposefully up to the edge of the fountain, where she assumed most ponies would be passing by. Immediately she smacked a sign down next to her, so that it was now standing upright and the words "THE END IS NEAR" were visible. "Stay in your homes, fellow Ponyvillians!", the filly cried.
Spotting Ice Crystal, she turned to him and snapped, "What are all these ponies doing outside?"

Ice Crystal's brows furrowed at the magenta pony, concerned at her statement.
"Oh, but I just got --"
"Relaxing, I'd imagine."
He looked at her earnestly.
"Isn't that what ponies typically enjoy doing?"

((For the record, Breezie's a white pony. My persona, Wing Song, is magenta. Nice to meet you, btw.))
Breezie had already looked away, and was a bit surprised to get an answer - older ponies usually pretended not to hear her. And ponies her age, for that matter.
"Oh - well yeah, I like to go outside too. But today I'm only out for the good of ponykind. See, something bad's going on, and I've got to get to the bottom of it before it's too late." The filly kept her tone solemn, but from the look on her face it was obvious that she was enjoying telling someone her latest conspiracy theory.
"Haven't you seen all the ponies around town?", she continued, not knowing that Ice Crystal was new to Ponyville, "They're all sneezing and stuff...like me, I guess. You can't tell me so many ponies have allergies. It's always blamed on allergies. That's what they said about the smoozed ponies at first! ...I think..." She frowned for a moment, trying to figure out if what she'd just said could have been true.
Shrugging it off and leaning in closer as though telling a secret, she concluded, "But I really think it's a sign - the coming of Tambelon!" For the last word Breezie raised her voice and threw her front hooves into the air for dramatic effect. Then she grinned and waited for a response, sniffling a bit.

((Hope you don't mind if Kimono joins.. he's nearby anyhow, and hasn't said much in quite some time.. and, well, he's a walking mental history of Ponyland.. lol))
The eggplant-colored stallion seated nearby flicked an ear as Breezie prattled to the new stallion, who Kimono hadn't noticed until just then. As he had been sitting, lost in his own thoughts, the Champions had left the square. Kimono sincerely hoped in his heart for their safe return.. so much rested upon their shoulders, and he didn't need powers of his own to know it.
But I really think it's a sign - the coming of Tambelon!"
"Pardon me," Kimono said politely, "I.. I'm afraid you'd be quite mistaken with that idea," The bookworm smiled with a bit of shyness. It wasn't often he approached others in such a fashion, or tried to join into someone else's conversation. "Tambelon.. according to history.. only has the power to reappear every 500 years, and it certainly hasn't been so long yet," He smiled almost apologetically, but at the same time didn't wish to see false rumors floating through Ponyville in what was already a troubling time.

Breezie glanced over with a frown. "...Oh. Right - I knew that. So um... Well then what do you think's going on?" The filly was disappointed that her prediction could actually be proved wrong this time, but was still assuming that something big and important was going on.
Sitting down on the edge of the fountain, she put the sign down to rest on its back on the ground.

OOC: Ah, my apologies. ^^; I noticed your profile and looked at Wing Song's information instead, by reflex. Regardless, it is very nice to meet you, as well. [smiles]
"Truly? I'm afraid that I hadn't taken notice," he responded, quietly studying the square before the purple pony carefully interjected. Naive of the business in Ponyville, he was relieved at Kimono's logical correction and was eager for his explanation.

"...Oh. Right - I knew that. So um... Well then what do you think's going on?"
Kimono shifted his weight uneasily, then quickly lifted his feathered hoof to cover his mouth as he turned and coughed. This was followed by a sharp sniffle. The stallion shook his head to clear his thoughts before responding.
"I honestly don't know," He shrugged, emerald eyes downcast, "But the Champions have been summoned.. So it's something serious. They've always come through for us in the past, though.." He trailed off, uncharacteristically losing his train of thought for a moment.
"Oh, I'm Kimono, by the way," The purple stallion officially greeted Ice Crystal, extending the hoof that he hadn't coughed on. At least, not just now. Usually he would have introduced himself right off the bat, but for whatever reason, he didn't feel like himself as of late..

"'Serious'?", Breezie squeaked, hardly able to contain her excitement.
Turning to pace as Kimono introduced himself to Ice Crystal, she continued, "Well then, this can only mean one thing - ARMAGEDDON!" Then she gave a loud sneeze. "Oh yeah...sneezing. But would that mean...?"
Turning back to the purple stallion, who she now saw as the authority on things, the filly asked, "Um...do ponies get sick when the world's gonna end?"

(cont. from the castle)
Angel was flying about when she heard ponies arguing, or that was what it sounded like anyway. The pegasus landed gracefully. "What's going on here?" She asked the small group. "I thought I heard arguing! Is everyone alright?"

"Um...do ponies get sick when the world's gonna end?"
Listening to the conversation, Sonic chuckled quietly. The light breeze blew through his blue and teal mane up in the tree where he sat. He was so unaware that he himself carried the dreadful virus. So unaware that a single sneeze could be fatal for surrounding ponies. Staring out in space, something purple crossed his sight. He did not realize that it was a mare before he had turned to watch the crowd nearby.
"What's going on here? I thought I heard arguing! Is everyone alright?"
Sonic chuckled again, a bit louder. The filly had just predicted their doom ... HEY! That's the kid I and Misty ran into! I wonder what she is up to. The teenager thought for a moment. Jeez, and I ate their pizza. Sonic grimaced. I hope I haven't caught something deadly. Smiling, he peered down through the leaves.

"Um...do ponies get sick when the world's gonna end?"
Kimono's ears flattened for a moment as he began to feel a bit overwhelmed by the crowd that had formed. However, he felt too malaise to care all that much. In a way, it was a bit of a comfort to be in company just as scared as he was on the inside.
The stallion shuffled his feet anxiously, not sure how to answer Breezie's question. Since he, himself, had no idea what was going on, it seemed best to answer confidently and vaguely as possible.
"The sickness.. could be related to whatever is happening, but it might just be a cooincedence. I'd imagine the only ponies who might have any idea what's going on might either be the Queen of Dream Valley, or our own Champions here in Ponyville."
Kimono raised his hoof again as a series of coughs stormed from his lungs. The purple stallion sat down for a moment to catch his breath, and to rest his legs which had grown tired of standing.

Ice Crystal smiled, accepting the gesture, soon to return it with his name.
"It's a pleasure, I am Ice Crystal."
He glanced up at Angel, and squinting slightly, he considered having had seen her somewhere before. He chuckled quietly at her misunderstanding before returning to the exchanged information. Taking brief notice of Kimono's anxious gestures, he took a few footsteps to the side as to permit him more room.
"Forgive me, but who are these Champions that you speak of?"
He nearly interrupted his own question at the pony's heavy fit of coughing.
"Are you all right?"

Breezie glanced at Angel, and decided to latch onto the new member of the conversation. After casting a brief worried glace at Kimono and resolving to get more information on the situation from him later, she stepped forward towards the pegasus. "Arguing? No - but we definitely aren't alright! The world's gonna end! And you should be inside, so hop to it!"
Turning to address the group, she went on, "You all should be inside! But...then..." She paused to walk back over to the fountain and lean against the side again. "Oh...I don't get it anymore! I guess being inside won't do much good, will it? Something's going on, but I don't really know what anymore, and I-" She paused to let out a sneeze before continuing, "-I have a headache..."
The filly sighed and tried to fit everything she knew and thought together.

"Forgive me, but who are these Champions that you speak of?"
"When necessary, the Rainbow of Light chooses seven ponies, and gives them powers according to the stripe they've been gifted with," Kimono explained quietly, snuffling here and there. "Those ponies become powerful when the Rainbow sees trouble afoot, or when ponies are needed to protect it. The Rainbow is what keeps our world as we know it," The stallion glanced skyward for a moment before returning his emerald eyes to Ice Crystal, "They're still here, in the town somewhere.. I don't think they've left yet, but they'd be the ones to know what's going on, I think. I didn't get to ask Jewel before they all left the square.."
"Are you all right?"
"I hope so," Kimono smiled a bit anxiously, doing his best to keep calm. "I just have to place my faith in the Rainbow, its Champions.. I'm not sure there's anyone else to save us if this is as serious as it seems."
"-I have a headache..."
Join the club,Kimono thought, lowering his head to rub it against his foreleg.
"We shouldn't panic, though," Kimono continued, raising his head. Something in him had changed since the last battle, and he felt it now in his higher confidence, "Panicking," He glanced at Breezie for a moment, "will only create confusion, and possibly chaos if enough ponies are upset. If this is something other than the seasonal flu, we should be doing what we can do stay calm and save our strength.." The stallion felt a pang of fear strike somewhere within, and a feeling of impending lonliness. He would be all alone in his secluded room in the castle, suffering from whatever sickness this was.
It was the first time in a long time he worried about surviving. Simply living through this. Rather solitary and quiet as he was, at least most of the time, if he were to fall terribly sick or even perish.. chances are no one would even know. He wanted to see the Champions return, in the very least..
"P-Perhaps," he started, noticibly more shy, "Perhaps some of us.. ought to stick together. I'd hate to think of anyone stranded alone, especially with whatever is going around.." The stallion scraped a large feathered hoof against the cobbestone of the square, glancing from one pony to the next.
