Spring was almost hurt that he could say that so easily, but she shrugged it off. That didn't matter any more. Mace had come back and this had all happened so strangely, and she was happy enough that she could see him again. But soon life would go back to the way it was, and this would be nothing more than a dream.
~*~*~*~*~*~
Tide liked this Moe guy. He was kinda funny, in an official sort of way. He managed to control his coughing fit and calm down. He was thoughtful about Mace's story and wondered what it had been like for Spring to know about Mace killing his adoptive father. Had he even told her up until now?

A phone ringing broke the silence. Tink reacehd for the cell phone without hesitation. Almost immediatly she frowned, it was a stallion on the other end, this was a family exclusive number , who gave it to him? "Yes? Whom may I ask is calling? What? B-but how? I-" the dismay shown plainly on her face, "Where do I pick him up? Ok, be there soon, is anybody with him? Rainbow, you left him alone?!?" her eyes widened in panic as she hung up the phone, "Umm, guys? Not ot be rude, but I have a bit of a problem, you see, my sister- my sister is ah, dead. And you see, she had a son, and I'm afraid I've gotten stuck with him and he is waiting for me at the train station and I cannot leave him alone!" it all came out in a rush. "He'll be fine Tink, we can afford to wlak slowly, don't be so rushed." "He's only one! And he summons spirits! Whether they're evil or not!" Tink was already walking away, Mace sighed and followed. "Moe, hope your good with kids, this one sounds like a real trouble maker."
(Cont: Since Ponyville doesn't have a train station, I'll skip straight to the cafe with him at SF's first day of work.)

"Oh geez, I'm really sorry," Spring said. She revelled at the thought of Mace and his girlfriend watching over a 1 year old. "Well, goodbye!" she called as Tink walked away.
~*~*~*~*~
High Tide had no time to say he was sorry as Tink was already walking away, but he managed to call out, "Good luck!"

Spring looked about her. Had it all been a dream? One second Mace was here, then he was gone. But something made her glow with happiness anyway. Maybe just the fact he had come back, even for a split second, and she had been with her best friend again. She turned and looked beside her and saw Tide, and she knew that it hadn't been a dream. "I thought you were headed to the ocean," she said, a comment she had been meaning to ask him the minute she saw him. Tide smiled. "Maybe the ocean can wait." He moved closer to Spring as she leaned in towards him..... (OOC: It appears the rest of the post was lost. Sorry! But I think you all know what happens next

"Hey it's getting late," Spring observed, "Do you have a place to stay? Because if not, you're welcome to stay with me at my place." She blushed and realized her parents didn't even know about High Tide. The pink mare decided she could explain once they were home. ~*~*~*~*~*~ Tide felt awkward going to Spring Fever's home. He didn't even know her family. But being on his way to the ocean, he hadn't planned on staying anywhere. "If it's not too much trouble....I wouldn't want to be a bother to your family..." he said, feeling rather rude. "It's no problem!" Spring replied in a chipper tone, returning to her hyper self, "Come on, I'll race you!" They took off toward her home, High Tide taking a considerable lead but slowing down to let Spring lead the way.
